  1. tony really does`nt like genuine wingers does he,maybe he sees them as undisciplined and a bit renegade, they do however offer you width and the ability to get to the byeline, all he needs to say to chapman and whoever is on the the other side is "if you don`t track back and help out the fullback,i`ll kick your a**e up and down brockhall" pretty sure they`de get the message, mowbray was well hard in his playing days, bet he`s still well handy in a fight or dishing out a rollicking
  2. why would you play johnson in defence, are you taking mind altering substances
  3. fair play to him,he actually looked a handful today, the first time i`ve ever seen him in that disguise,i think he deserves a starting place for a few games, armstrong on wednesday and today looked a bit laboured, give him a rest and give ben the beast an airing!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. unlikely but im`e hoping next season will be the one where we go for it,providing we keep hold of our best players and add 3 or 4 more that is,not a certainty with this regime
  5. frustrating in the fact we could have been in the play off places but at least we are still in the running, knowing rovers we`ll probably get 6 points from two difficult away games?brereton looked a completely different player to the one we`ve all been despairing about,he actually looked very handy indeed
  6. on the subject of sam, lets not pretend he`s ever going to be a star, but we ar`nt using him like we should, mix the play up and stick the occasional long ball up to him, same with set pieces, try to get him on the end of them,of course this is all conjecture, the poor bloke is mostly stuck out wide or up front on his own, look at the size of him,he should be terrorising centre backs not receiving tippy tappy passes that end up nowhere because his first touch is`nt good
  7. mowbray will approach this game with a defensive mindset, swansea are a decent side with lots of attacking potential and pace, expect armstrong up front on his own and we`ll set up like the away side, trying to hit swansea on the counter,it might work but we`ll be buggered if they score quickly, expect confusion and players out of position all over the park if that happens
  8. i find it strange the lad on loan at northampton, wharton,is seemingly a non entity as far as tony is concerned,he`s now got a complete novice on the bench, sure it would be better to have someone who`s been playing regularly and quite well as cover, should`nt have been sent on loan imo,he`s a better option than williams or the young lad carter
  9. tony`s gradual improvement policy is so slow by the time we are launching a promotion bid he`ll be getting a telegram from the queen, there is no ambition in the man and from what i see on the pitch, half the squad are content to just pick up their wages,i just hope he decided to pack it in at the end of the season, our club needs a fresh approach
  10. i don`t think mowbray understands strikers, wingers or attacking midfielders ,how they think or how to the best out of them, most likely he sees them as show ponies who steal all the glory, leaving the hard working centre backs with no credit whatsoever,he`s part of the centre back union, allardyce was the same, venus(mowbrays assistant was also a centre back)all about trying to stop the opposition rather than outscore them, when it comes to expansive football that creates chances our tony is all in a muddle
  11. major investment needed in the summer, left back, goalkeeper, centre back, two wingers and a striker(don`t think danny graham will be here next season),you can`t stand still in the higher levels of football,if you do then you`ll get relegated eventually
  12. he`d be better if he had a genuine wide player backing him up to offer an overlap,on the negative,he can`t cross a football, literally,it goes anywhere but the middle
  13. the only 3 to come out with any credit tonight are travis, lenihan and tosin,it was wigan all over again,to pedestrian,to many passes and just not good enough to break down a determined team
  14. bunch of dirty ****** are the nobenders
  15. can`t see them getting anything on saturday either, away at fulham
  16. Waggott is a money man and there's money in a hotel. What the owners want is another thing though. still don`t get this hotel idea, miles out of the town centre in a "rustic area" area of residential dwellings and a view of a polluted river and a few trees, got no potential of ever paying for itself imo
  17. hopefully a decent crowd for tommorow night
  18. whatever the line up is,without six points from the next two homes games then the season is over, pne got west brom and fulham next so this is our last chance to catch them imo,
  19. lol,was either that or brave the outside toilet block, was great though,i remember the cup tie against liverpool(the one where atkins scored the own goal)when garner crashed in that volley i started at the top of the blackburn end and finished halfway down the terrace, pinned to a crush barrier!!,great days
  20. which is a question iv`e always been intrigued, why buy a product then set about ruining it,venkys are supposed to be astute business people with a considerable fortune, why would you buy something then in all sense devalue the asset and value,i don`t buy into the opinion they were badly advised either, they must have done some research, they must have some long term strategy of making a considerable profit in some way, which is why i`ll never trust or hold them in any regard, they will f**k us up completely in the end
  21. i would`nt worry about that, the govt is likely to do a u-turn and declare battery powered cars are as bad for the enviroment as conventional power, they did the same with diesel vehicles 15 years ago, they encouraged every one to buy one then a decade on changed their minds!!!!!!!
  22. does anyone know if venkys actually own the stadium or is it a community asset or similar, meaning they can`t get their filthy hands on it,all this riverside talk has got me wandering if it`s the first stage of them trying to sell the ground, starting rumours of building work, then in the near future stating ewood is big and costly to maintain, then finally coming out and saying the only option is to sell and move to a smaller ground, they then cop a huge amount for the site and regeneration of the area and move us to a legoland, identikit stadium with a 15,000 capacity that costs peanuts, all supposition i know and thankfully can`t happen if the stadium is an asset of the community but i would`nt trust that lot and their lapdog waggot
  23. sure id`e rather have money spent on the team than a stand, sort it out if we ever get back to the premier league
  24. if this "safe standing" ever gets the go ahead, make it into a big terrace, would be epic imo,not sure a hotel would work, lets be honest the riverside is`nt exactly in plush surroundings!! one view of the pitch,ok,then one view of the river darwen, complete with floating sewage and other assorted waste you don`t really want to see
  25. can`t complain about a point away at a difficult ground, bloody annoying when you`re 2-0 up though, onwards and upward to 2 winnable home games
