  1. I put a fiver on us going down the day we sold Kaminski. Says a lot about this season that I've still got the slip.
  2. Can't Stop is the worst walkout song we've had in my 27 years of supporting. It'll always be Final Countdown for me. I still get a rush when I hear that song for the memories of walking onto the ground.
  3. They're absolutely tragic, aren't they? Should've got MGP to do a long throw training session with Brittain when he was at Ewood a few weeks back.
  4. We need just one of Birmingham, Plymouth and Wednesday to lose next weekend. I think this afternoon might just have been enough.
  5. I thought we switched to a 4 at the back when Pickering went off with Brittain moving up the pitch.
  6. With the way the club's going, I wouldn't be surprised if he's the only central defender of the current crop who's still here and fit next season.
  7. Kaminski wouldn't have just been the difference this season, but I strongly felt that not bringing him back in when Pears' form dropped off last season was the difference that meant we missed out on the play offs.
  8. Travis has his shortcomings (although that applies to most of the squad tbh), but he's always seemed to genuinely care about the club and been proud to be a part of it. Even on the day he signed for Ipswich, he was liking tweets from our fans who were outraged at the decision to loan him out. I've never felt that same passion from Hyam.
  9. I've defended Hyam a lot this season as I think he was rushed back from injury before fully fit and hasn't looked right since, but his decision making has been incredibly questionable this season on the pitch and I think he, ultimately, doesn't have the right temperament to be our captain. Captaincy has been a bit of a poisoned chalice at Rovers in recent years. Mulgrew and Travis frozen and then loaned out, Bennett eventually (rightfully) dropped after being constantly shoehorned in to the detriment of the team, Hyam completely out of form and grumbling at the fans. Only really Lenihan who's worked out in the role and he couldn't wait to jump ship.
  10. I had to laugh at the Wednesday fans urging the ref to blow his whistle at FT. Hardly like they were under constant attacking pressure from our lot! Wouldn't have been surprised to see us back pass a penalty on the basis of that "gutsy" second half performance.
  11. We've been really lucky in recent seasons because someone has always stepped up (often out of nowhere) to deliver the goals. Arma after Dack's injury/Graham leaving, Diaz after Arma was sold, Szmods after Diaz left You look at who's left (Gally, Dolan, Markanday and Telalovic) and we ain't getting lucky again without major investment when Sammie is sold.
  12. You may very well be right. That was just my immediate interpretation of it.
  13. We missed the Pears howler because we were (naively) trying to work out who was warming up to come and change the game (ha ha). Saw the replay on Twitter and Szmodics immediately signalled to his teammates that Pears had given them 2 goals today.
  14. Hyam picked up a loose ball in the first half and broke forward. Looked like he was running in lead boots. There's a lot that needs to be addressed at this club, but the complete lack of pace in team is chronic.
  15. For such a big unit, Gally doesn't half wimp out of using his body as an attribute.
  16. Don't make a confidence keeper your #1. It's as simple as that. That Leo is the other option says everything about this club right now. We gave a brilliant performance in front of a Darwen End full of vocal Newcastle fans. Today we looked scared and out thought by a team who disrupted us very cleverly.
  17. The ticket strategy was a mistake, but that does not excuse that absolute clusterf*ck of a performance. We were naive, ponderous and completely lacking in any creative vision. And that's before you even get onto Pears reminding us all why we dropped Premier League, International Kaminski for him.
  18. This club, this league. Never a dull moment. That feeling of getting the win when you've had your backs against the wall for the entire match and coming off the back of a 5-0 loss? Nothing like it.
  19. Brittain did get MotM. It was announced after FT that there had been an incorrect announcement.
  20. Millwall is an absolute must-win. I have 0 faith in this team to grind it out on Tuesday and I'm struggling to see us stringing together enough points to avoid relegation atm. They looked fearless against Newcastle on Tuesday, under the lights and on prime time TV. They need to be laying it on the line even harder than that in the league but they just don't look up for the battle. Heads down too easily.
  21. We've been second to absolutely everything tonight. I'm not writing JE off on the back of only having two days on the training ground with the team, but we've looked clueless and gutless tonight.
  22. I liked JDT, but it felt like a weight had been lifted from the players today. They weren't being forced to play tactics that they weren't suited to and receiving audible disapproval from the fans for implementing them. Things had clearly soured in the dressing room to the point of no return. They looked hungry and ready to prove themselves to the new manager.
  23. So low are my expectations of the club at the moment, I'm actually quite surprised that we appear to have lined up a replacement and won't have the 'dream team' of Benson and Lowe in charge for months and months while we interview for the 'right man' (/the one who'll stick to the company line).
  24. Playing 'Welcome to the House of Fun' at HT. Somebody has a sense of humour after that showing.
  25. With everything that's been happening, today's match almost feels like an afterthought. It's really difficult to feel any sort of enthusiasm when we've got a manager who's been gagged and could be on his way and a team made up of a fair chunk of players we'll be saying goodbye to in summer, either because they're not ours or to keep the lights on.
