  1. It doesn't seem like contract extensions are high on the agenda (or even on the agenda right now), but who'd want to sign to stay on with this absolute circus anyway? Players like Tronstad, Travis and Hyam will easily get deals at other Championship clubs.
  2. A match almost seems like an afterthought given the many levels of disarray at the club right now, but I'm unbelievably pissed off at this situation coming ahead of a big match on Wednesday. Eustace took training today knowing he wouldn't be here on Wednesday night to choose the team. We're going to be left with Johnson and the motley crew of Benson and Lowe (is he even still around?) trying to cobble together a game plan for a team who must be incredibly upset and frustrated.
  3. That statement. Trying to get out ahead of his departure to try and put the blame on his shoulders and distract from the chronic mismanagement which had led to him ditching us for another relegation scrap. Pathetic.
  4. He'll be picking the team come Wednesday night.
  5. Yep, increasingly wish I could hand in a transfer request at times but I'm stuck with the Rovs!
  6. I reckon there'll be a few "we want you to stay" chants at Ewood today, but that doesn't quite capture the bigger picture of "we want you to stay, but recognise why you want out of this shitshow and wish you all the best" that I think a lot of fans - certainly on here anyway - feel.
  7. What makes it all the more depressing is that you can guarantee that certain eyes will have lit up at the prospect of an unexpected 750k. We've flogged all of our assets and now we're flogging our manager.
  8. A team in the relegation zone is a more appealing option than a club in the top 6 (for now). The most damning indictment on our owners and senior management possible. I'm sick to the back teeth of the lack of communication and the shadiness and gloom surrounding the club. I wish him all the best.
  9. Great stuff from Andy Bayes here, asking the questions we're all asking (although shame the likes of Waggott and Gestede aren't the ones answering them). A lot of non-answers from JE, but reading between the lines it seems that he and the players are very aware and frustrated with the issues behind the scenes but pushing on as team with their togetherness regardless.
  10. If Forshaw's the answer, we're asking the wrong question.
  11. I'd perversely be somewhat fascinated to see Gueye take a penalty! Trav made the right call there though and Dolan was very composed.
  12. Well that was a first half that happened. We usually come out of the blocks fast so conceding so early probably threw off our game plan. That's being generous to a woeful performance from a team that look like they did their recovery from the Preston match in the local Wetherspoons.
  13. Feels like we're limping from transfer window to transfer window with no long-term plan at all. You can already see how summer's going to pan out. We'll trigger Hyam's year option, Dolan will be off and we'll d*ck Batth around so much that, if he does sign, he'll have missed pre-season.
  14. I think to myself that surely, surely, we couldn't balls up the paperwork for a third successive January, but I didn't think we'd do it a second time either... Strange to be a supporter of the only club in the country where a signing - even if they've been announced - isn't guaranteed until they're actually on the pitch.
  15. Lovely bunch of Preston fans proudly singing about Osmajic's bite on Beck as they were heading into the ground, I suppose that's what's considered "bragging rights" over there. As for the match, sometimes you need a bit of luck and we were due some. Great to have Travis back, we look so much more cohesive as a unit with him in the team.
  16. Nice to be the benefactors of a "you could guarantee he was going to score" for once!
  17. I hate to say it, but I'm seeing this as a match where the only aim is to get through it without any more significant injuries. Give Trav 15/20 mins to help build him back up to fitness and then there's (almost) a full week of rehab and training for the other muscle strain lads before Preston. Depressing that it's come to this, but that's what the clown show in charge has reduced us to at this moment in time.
  18. What's worrying me as much as the lack of incomings is the absence of any rumblings about player contracts. Has any first-team player extended since Broughton left?
  19. It's a difficult balancing act for JE because he must, surely be absolutely fuming at the lack of backing just like the rest of us, but he's always put a big focus on team morale which has played a significant part in getting us this far. He won't want to sow further seeds of discord within a team that is visibly mentally and physically weary already. I wouldn't blame him for walking at all, but I think he'll see it out to the summer and then let his agent tout him around elsewhere.
  20. First time I've been lacking any enthusiasm for a match all season. It's the disheartening inevitability of JE and the team pushing beyond all expectations to be right in the heart of play-off contention only for it all to be undone by the refusal to back them from those upstairs/in India. Tronstad and Trav's injuries are just the cherry on particularly rubbish, familiar cake.
  21. I know it's the nature of the fixture list and easy to be churlish with our captain and vice captain out along with the other various injuries, but it does strike me as somewhat ridiculous that we're playing three times in seven days during the coldest months of the year. Surely they could space out these midweek-weekend blocks a bit more across the season.
  22. My concern right now is that circumstances are going to force Travis back early from injury, along with his own eagerness to get back out there. I remember him coming back from knee surgery a couple of years ago, clearly too soon and he was well off the pace for weeks. It's one of many concerns about the club tbf, but certainly something that worries me over the next week or so.
  23. It's been an issue for us since Mulgrew left.
  24. To have one of Trav and Tronstad out is bad news, to have both of them could potentially end our play off hopes.
  25. Brittain is so important to the way we set up at both ends of the pitch. PotM performance tonight.
