  1. Who seemed a bit confused, usually goes to Buckley when Trav and Tron aren't available.
  2. Well, bearing in mind that it's been a relentless festive season of fixtures, I thought we matched them very well even with our injury woes. It's that cutting edge though, isn't it? And I just don't see where the money is coming from to find the goals that would push this team up a gear. Ahh, to have Szmodics under this manager in this team.
  3. JE is the ultimate thorn in Leeds' side. Bloody love it.
  4. *Beck I was thinking left-back position and that we were already down one there.
  5. I worry about this team over the next few matches. Not necessarily just because of the quality of opponent, but imagine we lose the likes of Pickering, Hyam or Sonny to injury due to the sheer load and we're going to be very, very stretched.
  6. The only way to utilise Gueye is as a sub to stretch tired defences. He just doesn't have the attributes to be a starter. That "shot" managed to be piss weak and miles off target. Feel we're really missing the rejuvenated Travis, in terms of tenacity and those runs from midfield.
  7. This is really scrappy and sluggish. Am I imagining things or have Hyam and Batth swapped sides? I could swear Batth usually plays on the left.
  8. This is such a likable team right now, they absolutely work their bloody socks off and you can tell they're playing for each other and the crowd.
  9. I once watched a tennis match where Serena Williams lost to a much lower-ranked opponent who was surprised as anyone else and asked her coach during the match, "do you think she's surprised by how bad I am?". I'm often reminded of that moment when Gueye comes on for his substitute cameos. I'm not completely writing the guy off at all, but there's a wildness and unpredictability to him that does have a value in its own, bizarre way. Would I trust him one on one with a keeper? No. Do I see the value of bringing him on against a tiring defence and a team with their fans on their back? Yes.
  10. Who was the BRFCS Player of the Month for November?
  11. He's really matured as a captain this season. That change of scenery at Ipswich has done him the world of good.
  12. Pretty even match. Felt we ran out of steam towards the end and waited too long to bring Gueye on. Ohashi had a great chance, but I'm just not convinced him up top on his own.
  13. We've been debating the fact that Hedges seems to be one of the first names on the sheet for Eustace where I sit in the Riverside (consensus is that he's not good enough, particularly when played on the right and having to cut inside constantly) and I can only think that he gives us some height in the attacking unit?
  14. How Buckley has managed to get the most passionately sung fan song (after Yuki, maybe) is genuinely baffling to me. Must be the luck of having a three-syllable name!
  15. Bit of a kick in the teeth for Hyam, mind! Gone from being captain under JDT and then Eustace to behind Buckley (who can't even get a start) in the captaincy pecking order. For what it's worth, I think Hyam has had a decent start to the season and their #12 was in his pocket today, but he doesn't quite have the edge of a captain.
  16. I'm coming off Ewood happy and relaxed week after week. It's disconcerting. Every player putting an absolute shift in for this team. The work rate off the ball is phenomenal. Thought Dolan was outstanding. Trav looks revitalised and loving life. Cantwell brings a real touch of class. Odd to see Buckley get the nod for the armband over Hyam when Trav went off.
  17. And virtually gave him away to fund a move for GALLAGHER at that.
  18. Well, Pears finally having some competition seems to have fired a rocket up his arse so that's something to take from a pretty dire performance. So laborious.
  19. Anyone spotted Melvyn this season? Riverside isn't the same without him doing the rounds in his array of masks.
  20. Fantastic, wasn't it? First thing we clocked after the shocked delight at Yuki's finishing had sunk in.
  21. When he gets into a goalscoring position, Yuki just has that extra second on the ball to make the right decision. Two perfectly struck goals today. Not one single poor performance today (even Pears!), the work rate off the ball was immense. Shout-out to Travis for not just his goal, but his shithouse game management too. Going down in their box to earn a foul and then staying down to take the bite out of their pressure. Also made a big show of dragging Dolan away and then continued to rile the City player up from a safe distance.
  22. Does anyone know if there'll be tickets available for the PL Cup matches played at Stanley? I've had a look on both the Rovers and Stanley website and can't see anything.
  23. While things did become incredibly toxic in JDT's last six months, him obviously wanting out and passive aggressively slamming the club (justifiably) with that cheeky chappy smile, it wasn't all idyllic in his first season. The losses to Burnley away (the Mola call smacks of arrogance, especially in light of what Scott Wharton has said since JDT left) and Preston at home were massive lows and then the insistence on sticking with Pears even when the cracks started showing cost us a play off place imo.
  24. Because the Venky's tenure has instilled us all with a deep-rooted pessimism.
