Being linked with SC Freiburg defender Chima Okoroji. 24-year old LB/CB who has both German and English nationality. Played for SC Paderborn on loan last season. Stoke, Blackburn, Dussldorf and some other German clubs all linked. Contract expires 2022.

Blackburn Rovers consider Bundesliga II left back option | Lancashire Telegraph

Looks like there's something in this. He's been offered to Rovers and has a British passport.

He isn’t far off. As someone suggested, AA bagged five in his first full season, being under-utilised and played out wide.

That's where the comparison ends. BB will never score 29 goals in a season in the 2nd tier of English football. There's just no strikers instinct there. People will see how good AA is when BB plays up front as a lone striker for a season. Doesn't bear thinking about.

  3. Once they go on sale there'll be two months to sell them before the season starts (details should be released this week). I'm sure that will be enough time to meet demand.

We know Waggott's useless and Venky's don't give a shit so it's no surprise we'll probably be the last team in the Champ  to have them on sale.

There's no chance I'll be paying money towards the Ewood chumocracy currently masquerading as a professional football club, so they can put up for sale in September for all the difference it makes to me. But if you are buying one then as much notice as possible on price/paying options/seating options etc would probably be useful.

No for me the midfield three next season should be Rothwell and Buckley either side of Travis. That is a hardworking trio that will win the ball back high, two of the three I have no worries about tracking back, Rothwell is your runner on the ball, Buckley is your passer, Travis is the shithouse when out of possession. When Dack returns that probably changes things.

I'd agree with others that I think Travis is wasted as a deep midfielder. Mowbray has coached the drive and passion out of him to an extent. I think Travis is best marauding his way round the centre of the pitch, winning the ball and getting forward. There's a lot more to his game than just being the pivot (LOL).

Rothwell is possibly wanting out so I'd go with Buckley and Travis in front of a proper disciplined DM.

I'd like actually to see a diamond next season, with Dack at the head of it when fit and two up front. It's workable if your full backs can get forward and supply the width. Pickering looks to be very attacking and JRC/Nyambe could do the same on the other side.

And just like clockwork as the Armstrong to Southampton 'story' has been rubbished by a proper journalist another club, this time Norwich, emerges as being 'in' for him.

I wonder which end these 'links' are coming from? Either Rovers or his agent would be my guess rather than the PL clubs.

    Who's rubbished the link?

Just an observation.  Why would Yates come to us?  Sure we are a bigger club than Blackpool but at the moment we are a mess due to rank poor management both boardroom and football.  At Blackpool he is working under a first class manager who uses him excellently.  If he came here he is likely to be playing wing back.

Blackburn Rovers already know their perfect Armstrong replacement but face transfer obstacles - LancsLive

He sounds like he's happy there.

Probably until three minutes to the end of the transfer window closing, sell for 15million and then for the next week lamenting the fact we could not spend on a replacement. Then for the next couple of months "Keeping our powder dry till January" then when we do not buy anybody "because prices are too expensive".

They've got to pay for Tony's new 10-year contract somehow.

it was clear at the meeting that the decision on the manager's position had been made by the owners.

In fairness, the wording of the minutes doesn't make that clear at all.

So, who was involved in the discussion to keep him? Just the owners? Or did Pasha and Waggott have input too?

Also what was the reasoning behind letting Mowbray continue?

I've read Rich Sharpe's article twice and can't see anything in it that suggests Southampton have any interest other than they are "said to be in the market" for another forward.

Given Rich Sharpe (not that I particularly blame him) doesn't even have the inside track on what is happening at Rovers, am I supposed to believe he knows who Southampton are looking at? Or rather is this just complete guesswork based on the sort of clubs likely to be interested in a young British player from the Championship?

It remains a source of interest for me that the club has just waved off 10 players yet all the focus and attention is on who we are going to sell Armstrong to.

Just what is the aim here and who is pushing this?

Confused by your confusion. The article clearly states:-

However, it remains likely that the 24-year-old will move on this summer, with the Daily Express reporting that Southampton are stepping up their pursuit and are preparing a £15m bid.

Not much pace and a one trick pony. Cuts in and shoots. Lad thinks he's a lot better than he is and all the Pompey fans I know would be glad to see him out the door.

That might be sour grapes because he's removed the fact he's a Pompey player from his twitter account and has effectively said he's off. The Pompey media seem to think the club will only sell for the right price.

Transfer update over Portsmouth assets as Cardiff and Blackburn eye Ronan Curtis with Reading and Derby County linked | The News

But, when it comes to Curtis, Pompey aren’t prepared to take a hit when it comes to selling the former Derry City man when he’s contracted until the summer of 2023.
