We just lost one of our few remaining winnable fixtures, against a team with nothing to play for 5-0 and have the hardest run in of all teams. We didn't turn up to a match that would have seen us safe. Staying up is very optimistic. -

Ipswich have spent 4 or 5 times what we spent on transfer fees and probably double what we could offer wage wise + god knows what on loan fees. The teams that are buying freebies and spending pennies are out of their depth. We are one of them IMO. We wouldn't have been able to afford the majority of loans or free transfers they have done. Sarmiento, Moore, Williams, Tuanzebe, Hutchinson... we couldn't touch any of them. Even if we wanted to we weren't able to afford George Hirst at £2m and have been bringing on players like Markanday and Telalovic all season. Leonard and Garrett have also played plenty and should both be on loan in League One. Pickering is one of the worst fullbacks in the division. He makes everyone look quick and we had half the season without a suitable backup. He is League One and probably one of the first names on the team sheet. Neither GK would start for Rotherham or any other Championship side. That says a lot. On top of that... 71 goals against. We are well out of our depth this year personnel wise other than Szmodics. He's the only reason we aren't already down with Rotherham and is carrying one of the most useless Rovers teams I've ever seen. -
Thought the same for months. Heart isn't in it. Like Ben White but without the ability.

£22m raised and nothing to show for it on the field. Not a penny of it out there. That's an absolute disgrace. -

I can't believe we're having to pay to watch Dolan, Gallagher, Markanday, Hyam, Pears, Pickering, Buckley, McFadzean. That is one unbelievably bad team. Add the likes of Wahlstedt, Garrett, Telalovic, Moran and Sigurdsson, we are totally out of our depth in the Championship this year. It's a league that's moved on from freebies and spending pennies. -

Nail in the coffin tonight for me. It wasn't just the errors John, they looked inexcusably flat and slow from the moment the whistle went. Rovers invited the errors and looked beaten from minute 1. Bristol were way more up for it and I've no idea why that would be given the circumstances. That team is going down and they all know it, I even think the manager knows it. You can only put it down to ability after tonight, they just don't have enough of it. -

There are at least 6 regular starters who should never play for us again after this season. I'm going to list them: Dominic Hyam Harry Pickering Tyrhys Dolan Aynsley Pears Sam Gallagher Arnor Sigurdsson I'd absolutely take a relegation to make that happen. -
Agree, giving an away team a boost in these matches is bonkers. 3k limit and make the most of having too big a ground by sticking them in the upper tier.

Karlan Grant, Josh Sargent, Joe Rothwell (30 appearances), Adam Armstrong, Ellis Simms, Che Adams etc have all had their moments in the Premier League and find themselves playing Championship football. It will take more than 5 appearances and 4 goals for me to say he's made it there but the early signs are better for him. I'd still be surprised if he becomes a regular starter for any Premier League side above the bottom 3.
-
I still don't think he's good enough to do it regularly in the prem but I'm not surprised he can get a goal or two for the league's bottom club. I'm not sure where it will go from there. Glad it's working out but would he get a game anywhere else?

How do we get rid of this man?

Even the keeper didn’t think he was, I think that’s all that’s needed. The majority of the time at this level it isn’t given. -

Kaminski deserved his opportunity. Failure to bring in an experience Championship keeper was a fatal error. The poor recruitment is due to desperately trying to juggle next to no funds around, again you need look no further than the owners. Experience comes with higher wages and we cut it (along with player funds) so went abroad, lower wages higher risk. You reap what you sow. Venky's are parasites. The staff have largely been working with their hands tied. -
This guy doesn't have enough about him for me. It will be a long old season with him in charge next year and a few less ticket sales.

It's easily 10+ points between the pair of them. Rovers getting everything they deserve for shoddy transfer business. -

Doesn't help that we hang onto the ball for so long in stoppage time and still choose the backwards pass. Szmodics is the only player that isn't scared of scoring. -

A tale a two 2nd choice keepers, appalling transfers and appalling ownership taking us down. -

Predicting a win here would be based on absolutely nothing. Message to the players: We are expecting you to lose, we think you're a set of bottle jobs that can barely put a tackle in and it's about time you proved us wrong. Get out there and do it! -

That will have still cost significant money to arrange. All a symptom of Venky's ownership. If you think anything is amiss at Rovers, whether it be quality on the pitch or maintenance of the footpaths... it all circles back to out of touch owners. -

The McGuire transfer error is just absolutely astonishing the more you think about it. The fact we had him in the shirt, revealed him as a Rovers player only to have not had it confirmed by the league, for a second time in 12 months and for no one to have been fired... It's absolutely insane. We are talking unprecedented levels of incompetency. I'm struggling with every match day to think that this really happened again and that we are seemingly expected to turn up and pretend it didn't. There is zero accountability at the level it matters most. Good luck to the players in the final fixtures but off the field at this club it's an absolute disgrace. -

You can't speak about the club without having the same conclusion each time, the CEO needs to be sacked. -

Good signing for the money IMO (Hedges). We paid a lot less for him than we did for Markanday and Hedges can influence a Championship game. Although a poor signing when in 2nd. Most clubs in our circumstances at the time would have moved on to better targets to align with how the season was going, and try for promotion. These conversations highlight just how badly we have gone about our business in recent years. -

We have but I don't call 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 crap performances and then 1 good one bouncing back. I call it a shit player. anyway good luck to him... we need someone to step up and score some big goals apart from Sammie. -

Looking at ours and other teams fixtures, come the end of the season it would not surprise me to see a final bottom 3 of: Birmingham Rovers Rotherham Rovers can't keep not winning and those fixtures are brutal. -

Nah Dolan is all hot air. Rarely hits a ball cleanly (passing, link up play or shots). Turns into trouble. Most things he does seem hopeful and fairly tamely executed. Lacks conviction and is a bit of liability on the ball for me. Sadly due to a lack of investment we still need him and he does put a shift in but I wouldn't touch him on a "big" contract. I rate Hedges at this level. He has a presence, can move with the ball, make a bit of time for himself and strike it fairly cleanly. It's a shame he's been out so much. Dolan I still think could fall off to a lower league one day. Suspect he will.
