  1. Not a great player for the system but this is bonkers stuff from the club, as was loaning out Buckley with a paper thin squad. It's desperate times.
  2. You'd have to be very naive to listen to JDT's interview and get a man who's happy to be here. He's clearly extremely disappointed by the summer transfer activity, the age of the squad, cutting of the budget, lack of clarity about the budget going forward and the ambitions of the people above him. You would be right in thinking he's a good professional and loyal to his young players but happy, c'mon. Let's get real. Being successful in football management isn't just about liking the fans, or the players and that isn't what makes a good manager stay in a job - he's highlighting that this isn't enough for success - we have that in place, we are all ambitious and like each other at this level and look where we are - is what he's saying. Ultimately he needs the people above him to do their bit and they never will. JDT "liking" his players and the fans, is the equivalent of us fans liking the club logo, of course we do. It doesn't mean you buy a season ticket and it doesn't mean he'll stick around. The fact he's saying these things in response to questions such as "Are you frustrated Jon?" should be enough of a red flag for you to realise he's in a desperate situation and is completely disillusioned with the club and its hierarchy. He's an intelligent man, and it's what he doesn't say that's always more revealing. Have a listen... he essentially tells every interviewer you're an intelligent enough person to not need me to answer that question and in doing so he is answering it. "The fans are ambitious, my players are ambitious" I can't believe this needs spelling out but a happy football manager in this interview scenario finishes those sentences with "and the owners are ambitious, I speak with them every day" or "the club is very supportive and it is showing on the pitch". WAKE UP ROVERS FANS FFS.
  3. Pickering is too slow for the Championship. League One defender IMO.
  4. I think I'm done with this manager... although it has to be said I'll always be more done with the owners. They are scum. Tomasson hasn't been backed but he also isn't getting the best out of his defence - which is arguably the strongest part of the team personnel wise. Perhaps the current lack of ability to defend is due to him having to over compensate after not being backed in the summer and a need to over engineer a young football team. Either way the results have now turned unacceptable but they are everything the owners deserve. Every manager in world football would struggle to achieve anything working under Venky's that is where the real problem lies.
  5. Pickering still needs replacing… what’s that… 6 transfer windows and counting?
  6. Could be a sacking on the way soon.
  7. Week by week it’s looking more and more like the season we all expected.
  8. Rovers need to find some funds for a keeper and a striker again. Buy cheap, pay twice. That’s what happens. A couple of 500ks down the shitter for Wahlstedt and Telalovic. Kids and bargain basement buys.
  9. For me it’s games like today that make you despise the owners even more, when 11 players give their all, academy lads step up and make multi million pound players look sh*te, fans turn up and push for a result but you look to the bench and see zero financial support. You look at the corporate and not an owner in sight. At least sit and watch it. Come and witness your disservice. Feel it like we do. Show us your disappointment at not getting the result. Venky’s you are scum.
  10. Deluded, it's completely over reliant on the academy due to a lack of investment and a reinvestment after releasing a huge amount of senior players in recent years without replacing them. The academy should be complimenting a senior team, instead it's forming the foundations of one. As mentioned earlier today, the fans need a reality check if you can't see this. It's a team crippled by terrible owners and a lack of investment accumulated over years, not injuries. Half of these players would be away on loan if the owners had any true interest. A real owner (a Walker), present on the ground, with this manager and academy and a reasonable amount of money to spend would have this Rovers team pushing for promotion with ease... The squad isn't just stretched it's being completely abused and they are performing miracles. The owners are scumbags, like plenty in the football world. We are under a self imposed transfer embargo and are being starved from above. 13 years and counting... JDT is talented and will walk whenever he gets the chance, and some will STILL sit and make excuses for the owners. Incredible.
  11. Message to any fan who refuses to blame the owners, there can't be many of you but YOU are part of the problem.
  12. Sign players or I walk would be the message from me if I were JDT. He will have plenty of takers.
  13. Let’s get real here… You can’t be staying around for this if you’re a talented manager. JDT has to go.
  14. Sondre Tronstad is some signing. So tidy on the ball and seems to come out on top of most duels. Really enjoying watching him at the minute and is proving to be our most reliable player.
  15. Probably the managers way of saying sign me some bloody players??
  16. Our entire summer transfer budget wouldn't be able to buy us one of Leeds substitutes today. I thought we were excellent and JDT must be wondering what he can do at a club that will back him.
  17. Speaking of nooses, it's time to tighten the noose around Venky's neck and get rid. The reality is they aren't fit and proper.
  18. Not many keepers in the world are saving that first goal. The second goal was a combination of a blatant foul on Hill and ball watching.
  19. His passing is special.
  20. I'd be with you there but he gave Vale and Morton too many starts last year, and picked Pears over Kaminski in some vital fixtures. I think we'd have made the playoffs with Kaminski in goal. JDT isn't perfect selection and subs wise but has too little to choose from this year.
  21. I thought we were really impressive tonight with so many players out injured. All we are missing is owners that will back the club.
  22. Tronstad is very very tidy on the ball, passes it left and right with ease with both feet. Far far better on the ball than Travis and he is also in great form. He's been key to nearly all of our recent wins for me. Travis can only pass with his right, has less range and awareness. Great battler and sh*thouse but that's about it.
  23. Absolutely right on this. Good premier league wingers look to get it out of their feet quickly and cross it into the box still, and score from them again and again. Likewise they shoot and see deflected goals go in every single week. We don't. We are reluctant to cross and don't have anyone attacking crosses that do go in. We also very bizarrely often refuse to deliver it into the box when our defenders have stayed up, which is absolutely ludicrous. They stick around waiting for a cross that's not coming and we get counter attacked with a couple of midfielders left to defend. We concede a lot of goals at the minute through overcomplicating things. You could argue we actually need to play with more freedom where we are allowed to mix it up more. How many times have we encouraged more pressure by not hitting it as long as possible. Sometimes a couple of punts upfield or an opposition throw-in down the other end allows you to regroup, push up and breathe.
  24. The thing is I'm seeing articles start with "we spoke to the Sheffield Wednesday owner and here's what he had to say" and from the pictures I'm seeing it looks like he's attended some of their games? So before we start to defend Venky's let's remember how detached, uninterested and non present they are at our football club. When the heat gets turned up a bit they won't give anyone the courtesy of addressing them directly, or being present on the ground at the club they own. Venky's remain one of the worst ownerships in English football. We have barely seen or heard from them in 10 years! Non existent.
