  1. How do you know he only gets young players to sign off on? The evidence, as quoted, suggests otherwise. Venkys are clueless, we all know that. But you haven't grasped the fact that despite this, some of the blame for our poor results is on Tomasson for his tactics, and on Broughton and Tomasson for between them signing poor players. Are you mates with Chaddy by any chance?
  2. My angle is this. The argument that we only sign players over a certain age has been dispelled (Tronstad, Szmodics) So if Tomasson does indeed have influence on who we sign, but those players are young/inexperienced, then he needs to stop using 'inexperience' as an excuse every time we get beat. That was my original point. Not so strange after all eh? I think you're trying to avert any blame whatsover on our poor results from Tomasson. No offence like. And I'm perfectly aware what the bigger picture is, thanks all the same.
  3. So we sign players then without Tomassons say-so, yes?
  4. Having no players is not a transfer policy. It's having no money in the first place. My question is rather about the players we actually do sign, and whether he is on board with those.
  5. Tronstad got sanctioned - he's 28.
  6. In your opinion then, Tomasson isn't on board with the transfer policy?
  7. Because he's still here collecting his salary.
  8. If the rumour is true, then I suspect that we'll be shipping someone out, probably Carter, and looking to make a trading profit on the face of things. I think Sam Barnes' contract is up in June also.
  9. Indeed we did. It still provided endless amusement though.
  10. If it is what the club want and Tomasson is on board with it, then the 'inexperience' excuses need to stop when we lose.
  11. You seem to predict us to win every game. I hope that you're not a betting man, or you'd be skint!
  12. Stick another million on top of that, and it wouldn't be far off the mark.
  13. If you had the choice of either Dolan or JRC coming back into the team, you'd pick Dolan? I certainly wouldn't. JRC offers far more.
  14. JRC is the biggest miss by far of all the injured players.
  15. Slight contradiction there, me thinks...
  16. It's not just pace. It's pace and strength we lack.
  17. I think we'll get a result here. Despite the recent run of dross, Tomasson is more than good enough to put a win or two together periodically. 2-1 to the Rovers.
  18. Spot on. I think in the main it's dull to watch. If we're lucky, we might get 20 minutes of decent, progressive, attacking football a match.
  19. Nail on head. On Dolan, he has a good game in every 5 or so, usually when we're away from home and we play on the counter, which suits him I think. As you say though, he's not the only one.
  20. Moran is going backwards at a rate of knots. Sigurdsson has done little thus far to show that he's a reliable week in, week out Championship standard player.
  21. Totally agree with you there, he's done a lot of good things and I've not heard one single call for his head, put it that way. It doesn't mean that he's beyond critcism, though.
  22. It doesn't mean that they're not entitled to an opinion either.
  23. It's more a case of people judging Tomasson on his own merits.
  24. Finally someone's called it out. All these comments about 'exciting football', 'getting me off my seat', 'identity' etc are wearing thin with me. The only football that excites me is winning football. Tomasson has done a great job in a lot of ways, but he has a massive achilles heel IMO.
