You're not the only one. England were just dull.

Which moment(s) in our history…
Wheelton Blue replied to wilsdenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Way before my time, but my Dad used to tell me that the Rovers side that played under Johnny Carey in the 50s was the best in his lifetime. -

Sorry, yes, I was meaning we lost out on promotion . PNE lost on the day. -

Wheelton Blue replied to broadsword's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
My Dad took me to Deepdale to watch the PNE/Swansea game on the day we lost at Bristol, but I was fairly young at the time so it didn't really affect me that much. It has to be that Palace game for me. The stuff of nightmares that one. -
If we keep that performance level up, we don't need to fear anyone in the chase for going up via the play offs. Failing that, on the evidence of yesterday and the past few games (Stoke except), we're just 2 or 3 solid signings away from being strong challengers for the top 2 or 3. They need to back him properly in the summer.

Haven't we just. I'm just waiting for the inevitable 'you bought the league in 95' line....

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?
Wheelton Blue replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Szmodics is certainly proving me wrong, I'd written him off only a few weeks back. Dack will get his opportunity again though soon enough, it's a squad game and we'll need every man. -
Exactly. I also very much doubt that we'd be directly paying his wages and NI; he'd still have been an employee of Forest, as such they would still have remained responsible for paying his wages and NI to HMRC, and to whom we'd have simply been paying a loan fee.

v Leicester City (a) - 28/02/23 (FA Cup 5th Round)

The Ewood pitch doesn't run true. At the Swansea and Blackpool games, I saw the ball bobble up a few times. One instance in particular, a simple ball across the back line bobbled over the foot of one of the Swansea defenders. Luckily for them, the defender recovered it quickly, but it could easliy have caused them a problem. That could be us next time. 'Penny wise, pound foolish'. -

That's true, but in a large part down to us harrying them constantly. -

Hopefully these will arrive in time for both the play off and FA Cup finals 🙂 -
The cynic in me says that this will be just like any other government backed regulator. Think rail, water, energy etc.... Let's hope not, and that the regulator actually has some clout in addressing the greed of the PL clubs. I listened to the Crystal Palace guy - Parish - being interviewed on 5LIve at lunchtime. He seemed quite sceptical about.

He played well again last night, much improved since he joined us. My only beef is that his excessive schoolyard step overs and flicks were creeping back in last night. He gave the ball away a couple of times in good positions trying to be a Fancy Dan.

Against a bottom side, Tomasson has to show far more attacking intent than was on display in that dire first half against Swansea. More of the second half display, please Rovers. If we do that, we should win. -
Out of curiosity, I ventured on to the Plain English Campaign website. Oddly enough, the word 'stakeholder' was not included in the list of words for which they offer a 'plain English' alternative. Perhaps you should highlight their ommission, and to tell them that they're also wrong? I'm sure that they'll be as enthralled as we all are with your point of view.

Chaddyitis is rife, it would appear....

A stakeholder's 'stake' need not be a financial one. As an example, the local Ewood community are stakeholders in BRFC. If the club don't pick litter up, again for example, then they are impacted by the club.

Blackpool will have their tails up after winning at the weekend. This will be a tough match, but I think we'll have enough about us. 1-0 Rovers -
