  1. A chippy darn sarf that we were at thirty years ago or so referred to gravy as sauce. In a chippy in Scotland I went to they had red pudding suppers and black pudding suppers. Whatever, chippies are great, and where I live (not in the UK), everyone asks me about them and wants to experience it. 😄 They are infamous. Well, I think that's great actually.
  2. Will Collar is on the bench for Stockport County. Tomasson attended a game to watch him, according to Elliott Jackson, so one to keep an eye on if he comes on.
  3. On paper, yes, but you never know. Strange things can happen on the final day of the season. I remember Derby County had Manchester United away many years ago, and they had to win to have a chance of staying up. Unbelievably, they did it. Tottenham still have something to play for, so I'd expect them to be the toughest opposition today. Bournemouth and West Ham haven't got anything to play for, so might put slightly weakened sides out and take their foot off the gas. Hard to tell as it sometimes works in the opposite way!
  4. Right now, not here. 😄 Seat map still not updated to show the true picture. Waiting for it to reveal the non-renewed seats. Although, for all I know, everyone could have renewed. 🙃
  5. Carlisle United v Stockport County at 13:30 for a place in League One. I used to live close to Stockport, so I've got a slight soft spot for them. The order of the play-offs has been Championship, League Two, and then League One. Any particular reason for that?
  6. It was certainly a game of two halves. Luton bossed the first half, and could have been two or three up, really. Coventry started to threaten in the last five minutes of the first half, and to be fair, I thought they were the better team in the second half and deserved their equaliser. Luton always looked the more likely in the end, and they have a better quality side which shone through. Penalties are a terrible way to settle a game in my opinion. Both teams took sublime penalties until Dabo's absolute clanger. Overall, I'd rather Luton went up for a few reasons. Luton have been a thorn in our side for a good few seasons. There is also justice in Coventry suffering heartbreak due to their blatant handball to equalise against us. Finally, I think Coventry may struggle next season. Their better players will go (and I don't think they'll get as much as they would hope for given the short lengths of contracts remaining, plus their desperation for money - they dropped a clanger by having to sell Hyam to use for less than we originally offered last summer!).
  7. There's only one place where you'll receive the up to date figures! 😇
  8. Does this guy not have his own thread? Or are my searching skills diminishing? I'd give this guy the captaincy next season. Mr. Dependable. Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year, so clearly well-liked and respected all around. Has the experience and at the right age for it. Just do it. ✔️
  9. OK. You can get out as well. That's worse than fish finger butties. Out you dirty b*stard! 👉
  10. I can't believe the gall of mentioning McDonald's and Burger King in the same sentence as a chippy. Get out! 👉 (My profile pic lends well to this)
  11. I've just itemised all the player contracts at the club. Looks like it's make or break for the following three players that just had their options taken up rather than being offered a new contract: Lenni Cirino Jared Harlock (I watched him in one match and thought he was excellent) Alex Baker Zak Gilsenan and Isaac Whitehall have had new contracts offered, so they should sign soon, as have a number of them in recent days and weeks.
  12. Important thing is when Mrs JDT opens her chippy in Whalley, she can either go with a JDT-cake, or a Barmy Army cake. Something for everyone. Edit: Also applies if she opens a fancy cake shop.
  13. Pat Gamble signs a two year contract extension, with the option of a further year. Could be a risk. 🙄😁 Article here. Pleased that we're tying these lads down for the future!
  14. I thought tea cakes were the ones with raisins in them. My grandparents would come over and have toasted tea cakes and butter with a cup o' tea. Hence why they might be called tea cakes? I worked part-time in a chippy in Clitheroe when I was 17 or 18 (Cottage Takeaway, now Baldwin's?), and it was always a barm cake there. I don't recall tea cake being mentioned in chippies in Accy where I grew up. Or maybe my memory has gone!
  15. Prices aside (I know...), it's possible the Super Saver period has financially caught some people out with it being so early. Last season, the early bird period finished at the end of June, which is almost two months later than this time around. Cashflow and saving enough for the season ticket when the Super Saver period finished so early could be a bit of an issue for some if you're not prepared for it.
  16. No change in the seat map at the moment. I'll check again later. In the meantime, I noticed that the front rows at ground-level in most of the blocks are all unavailable. These are seats for disabled supporters and carers, and the seat map also reflected this last year until some time after the "save your seat period". I will keep an eye on this, but for now, I'll add these front-row seats to the list of non-saleable seats as I don't want to include them as season ticket sales. There are around 535 of them in total. As of right now, the seat map estimates 10,561 season ticket sales, including non-renwers. Best I could figure earlier is that somewhere between 3,000-4,000 hadn't renewed, and we'd sold 1,600 new season tickets altogether.
  17. I used to like listening to Legends on Key 103 on the way home from work. Gary Owen, Graeme Sharp, and Alan Kennedy were quite good at hosting it, and it focussed on the northwest clubs.
  18. I'm still in bed thinking about John Bull. I'll shift my arse shortly and then let you know that the map hasn't been updated.
  19. Isn't it just a case of all UK & Ireland games being listed first and in chronological order?
  20. I'd like to think we're slightly better than that. We all know the pain and embarrassment of owners, particularly those from faraway lands that are disconnected with football, and no supporter deserves that.
  21. BTW mods, this is on topic. Mrs. T's Plaice (f*ck the cake shop). Serving a delightful "Jon" Bull. Won't get battered. If I can say it in that way. 🤗
  22. I was considering writing "if you think Venkys are bad...", but thought better of it. 🤐
  23. What an odd situation at Wigan. The players were finally paid last week, but the EFL requested £3m to be deposited in an approved account (presumably a business account relating to Wigan Athletic), and the owner left it in his own account. And now they're been docked even more points before their season begins, Strange behaviour from their owners. I think it's befuddling everyone at the minute.
