  1. Although I can't see renewals for the time being, selling 4 and 8 new season tickets in the last couple of days can only be down to the price hike. Knowing that something was cheaper last week than it is now makes you think twice. Then again, Phase 3 might prompt those umm-ing and ahh-ing about it I will do a count later and see how many new purchases there are. I'd expect a tiny increase with it being Saturday and football games perhaps bumping a few into action.
  2. I estimated 1,600 new ST holders the other day. 🥳 That's purely based on the seat map. You asked me why I thought 1,600 new ST holders had bought overnight, but I couldn't work out why you said "overnight". The counts are ALL "new" seats since they went on sale. If 5,400 or so have renewed, which is close to 60%. If he wants another 30%, then he's going to have to work at it. Last season's loyalists deserve a bit more time to renew at a reduced price.
  3. At this rate, we are going to struggle to advance beyond 7,000 any time soon. Just 8 more "unavailable" seats in the last 24 hours or so. I cannot see how we will sell significantly more unless prices come down, or an offer is re-opened to last season's non-renewers.
  4. The tone is set by Venkys. I think they have taken everything very personally in the last 13 years, and look upon us with disdain. This, ultimately, is probably why the relationship can never be repaired, and why we'll never see a pricing strategy that is in touch with the supporter base. They are so distant, they may as well be on another planet. Parts of Ewood get shut down, the camera gets moved to the other side of the pitch so that the stadium looks a bit nicer when, in reality, it is being run into the ground. Venkys (the ones at the very top) never truly feel what is going on down at Ewood, and that matters. Somebody whispering bits and pieces to them is no good. Waggott could go, but he'll be replaced by another one that is basically tasked with the same stuff. Ideally, he'd be replaced by a strong character that can convince the owners that supporters are not the enemy, and that it's important to have as many of us in the stadium as possible cheering on the side like the good old days. That's highly unlikely. We've seen before what happens to those who voice an opinion that closely resembles the truth. Venkys will have only ever seen a hostile atmosphere at Ewood. That's probably another reason why they think we are nothing more than an angry mob, and that we don't deserve anything back. It's always the same. Whatever it is they want to do with this club is overshadowed by the deep dis-care of the supporters. I don't mind too much about last season's plan - to get academy players through and start making use of it, while trying to phase out our reliance on loans. I hope we carry on in the same vain, but time will tell. As for us as supporters, nothing will ever change while Venkys are in charge. I suspect the despise us, and will never be seen down at Ewood again. Unless it's the son.
  5. Just 4 "new" seats marked as unavailable in the last 24 hours. We need people in Ewood who care about supporters and, in a nutshell, quit with the penny-pinching from supporters and make season tickets more affordable. I see a flyer with adult season tickets from £429. That's not enticing whatsoever. The rate of new unavailable seats tell you that. We'll sell close to none in Phase 3. Phase out the phases and you might get somewhere.
  6. Just 5 more "unavailable" seats than there were around 18 hours ago. Sales are going to completely dry up. My suspicion is Waggott would be delighted with somewhere close to 10,000 after half ST sales in winter, and is probably looking at between 8,000 and 9,000 before the season starts. We'll trickle towards 8,000 now that the "good" price has disappeared. Only a good early window will see us reach more than that, I think. 🙄
  7. Well, I don't think we'll get the correct number! It's just an estimate because there are lots of little behavioural issues with the seat map, particularly at the moment. During any "save your seat" period, all of last season's seats are marked as "unavailable" in the seat map for the entire duration of the "save your seat" period, whether they have renewed or not. That figure should be around 9,300 in the current seat map. So the first problem is that there is no way to tell how many of last season's ST holders have renewed. 8,000 supporters could have renewed, but it would still show those 9,300 seats as "unavailable". 1 supporter could have renewed, and it would still show those 9,300 seats as unavailable. The second problem is if an existing season ticket holders renews, but switches to a new seat. There are two possibilities, but only an existing season ticket holder that is switching to a new seat next season would be able to tell me what happens to their old seat. Possibility 1 If I move from seat 1 to seat 2, seat 1 changes from "unavailable" to "available" (so one less "unavailable" seat, moving the figure to 9,299 "unavailable" seats), and seat 2 changes from "available" to "unavailable" (so one more "unavailable" seat, moving the figure back to 9,300). Possibility 2 If I move from seat 1 to seat 2, seat 1 stays as "unavailable" (so the the number of "unavailable" seats stays at 9,300), and seat 2 changes from "available" to "unavailable" (so one more "unavailable" seat, moving the figure to 9,301). It's a big difference, but the above two problems are basically what makes counting somewhat pointless until the "save your seat" period is over. Basically this. You get true visibility of ST sales. And then the third problem occurs a few weeks before the start of the season when the first single matchday tickets go on sale. They skew the seat map visibility all over again. Last season, I used the last estimate of ST sales before matchday tickets went on sale, and then added three week's worth of sales based on the previous week or two. This came to an estimate of 8,622 season ticket sales by the start of the season.
  8. In total, there are 18,210 seats that are sellable to home supporters. This takes into account the closed parts of the stadium, such as the BBE upper and the DE. Of those 18,210 seats, 10,927 are marked as unavailable. This includes all of last season's ST holders, whether they renewed or not, plus any new sales. If you consider there were 9,300 ST holders last season, this is why I was suggesting 1,600 new ST holders so far. The contentious part is if an existing ST holder moves seats and whether their old seat is marked as available or still left as unavailable. If we take the club's word that we've sold 7,000 so far, it means that a good few thousand haven't renewed (yet) based on the total count of unavailable sale-able seats. 🤪
  9. Ah right, I've only just read the wording. So basically we're at around 7,000 in total. It's difficult to tell when we don't have the full picture in the seat map.
  10. We had 9,300 ST holders in total last season, with 7,000 renewing under the Super Saver period, so that's more like 2,300 that haven't renewed, isn't it? It also looks like there are around 1,600 new ST holders on top of that. I'd suggest the estimate is around 8,600 ST holders in total so far.
  11. 10,927 unavailable seats. That will still include those that haven't renewed. 17 new in the last 24 hours.
  12. Later on. I have to go and cry at the accountant's, first! 7,000, eh? I'll put the official confirmation on that later.
  13. Last season, it was when the "save your seat" period ended on 30th June. I suspect there will be a similar "save your seat" period this time around. There was a drop in the figure of unavailable seats of around 2,000, which you might be able to take as a rough figure of non-renewers last time around. You can't buy a season ticket online at the moment. I will check it again later.
  14. I think JDT came to the Championship knowing that it was the quickest route to a Premier League job - either via promotion, or by doing well. I agree that a Premier League club won't come knocking for his services, but a Championship club with a sizeable budget and a staff that can get signings over the line at crucial times would surely attract him. Leeds will be the biggest worry, should they drop. You could also consider Norwich and how Wagner hasn't exactly ripped things up there, should they fancy to pot him. Just thinking out loud.
  15. I was expecting a lower mid-table finish during what was no doubt a transitional season with a difficult situation regarding contracts, so I'm pleased that we were well above that. We have had some absolute stinkers, and the players need to learn when to be up for it. It would be nice to be the dominant force amongst our local rivals for a change, but we always seem to get outdone. One thing I like about JDT is that he is decisive - both in the style of play (whether we like it or not), and who deserves to be in the side. It seems like years since we had a manager who appears to have a plan. If JDT stays, is given a reasonable budget to play with, and the form filler-outers get their fingers out their arses, then I'm hopeful that we can reach the play-offs next season.
  16. What if he went to B*rnley? He was a £20m+ player not so long ago, but we'd have been lucky to sell him for 20p this window had he still been under contract. I'm really disappointed by his application and effort in the last six months. I think it's cost us when we needed players like him to stand up and be counted. He's entitled to run down his contract, but I think it's classless when the club has persevered with him through his utterly garbage periods at the club. Thanks for a good season and a half out of the five (?) you were here. Rovers will move on.
  17. I'm not sure you'll fit through the turnstile if your arse is that big. 😁
  18. It doesn't look like the seat map is showing the true numbers. The estimate I've got as of this morning is 10,910, with 123 new seats sold in the last 24 hours. Again, this figure will also include existing season ticket holders that haven't renewed.
  19. Last season, we had 7,035 unavailable seats on 15th June (my first count). This morning, we've got 10,787 unavailable seats. So there is a much bigger head start than last season, I would say. Tomorrow's count should hopefully let us see the real picture unless the club decides to keep all seats as unavailable with a view to extending the Super Saver period. The last reasonable count I could make last season was 8,197 on 12th July because match-day tickets went on sale the day after and skewed any further counts for season ticket sales. I estimated 8,622 by the first game of the season, based on the daily average sales figure. I don't think it was far off in the end, but I would like to think we can easily smash that this time around.
  20. No. They are corporate seats. I only include the following blocks: E01 E02 E03 E04 N01 N02 N03 N04 N05 W01 (minus 159 non-purchasable seats) W02 W03 W04 W05 W06 W07 W08W W08C W11C W11W W12 This is what the spreadsheet looks like. I basically "glean" the number of available seats from the seat map and enter them in column C. The other columns do the rest.
  21. 10,787 unavailable seats is the current count. My last count was 10,403 on Monday lunch time, so there appears to have been 64 new season ticket sales per day. Would expect a sizeable increase once midnight has passed. I'm not sure if we'll get a real picture of the numbers tomorrow, i.e., when the seats of those who haven't renewed turn from unavailable to available. There could be a huge drop once that count is done, but we'll see. You would expect anybody intending to renew to have done so by the end of today, or it's another £50+ or so thereafter. Have the club said anything about a "reserve your seat" period? Or is it part of the Super Saver period?
  22. I think quite a number will wait and see how summer begins to unfold. JDT will hopefully stay on, which will help massively, but also we could do with some signings of intent. On that note, I haven't really been keeping up to date with Rovers news, but I've seen people saying it's just loans and frees this summer. I'm not sure how much heed we should pay to the hearsay. A similar budget to last summer might be sensible and acceptable to all sides.
  23. Bit of a late count but there are 104 more unavailable seats compared to yesterday afternoon. 10,507 unavailable in total.
  24. Thomas is about the only player who puts a cross in. Unfortunately, we have no strikers to get on the end of them. That being said, this loan was supposedly quite pricey, and I expected more from him by now. He hasn't been a regular, but he's been largely ineffective. I find him a bit irksome when he does that look of disbelief / hands over mouth / turn slowly 360 degrees in disbelief. He loses the ball, does the aforementioned, and seems to give up on tracking back. He seems to be more interested in how he looks than anything else. Roll back thirty years, or so, and you'd certainly hear a shouting or two of "GET ON WITH IT YOU TART!". A poor loan signing. Unless he bags a winner or assist that gets us into the play-offs on Monday and then gets a few goals in the following three games!
