  1. Not sure if he was ill during the Leeds v Liverpool game but he sounded breathless and disinterested. Sometimes it's best to leave before you're remembered as a Kling-on.
  2. I'm befuddled by anybody calling for JDT's head. Have you lost yours?
  3. To say we are struggling for a striker, JDT has done well with what he's had to play with. Let's beat Millwall and see where it lands us. Regardless of what happens from here, I feel good about next season if JDT stays on.
  4. Well, I suppose this is why it's slightly pointless to do any counts at the moment, but I'm confident that the figure for new season ticket holders in a 24-hour period is accurate. What we should have been doing is rewarding the current ST holders massively for stumping up the money last summer, particularly if you recall that we didn't have a manager for a lot of it. 9,000, and getting as many of them to renew as possible, is a decent base to work from, and get a good few more thousand newbies with incentives. 12,000 would be a decent figure, but better 14,000 or more (off the top of my head).
  5. There's a partial explanation in my post from yesterday. Bear in mind that not everyone is going to renew. At the moment, there are 10,403 unavailable seats. Of course, I ignore the BBE upper tier, the whole DE, and a block of 159 seats in the JW lower towards the DE, which are all marked as unavailable but obviously aren't for sale. Yesterday, there were 10,372 unavailable seats. That's a difference of 31. Of the 10,372 unavailable, there are something like 9,000-10,000 that represent the current season's season tickets (include half season tickets). They'll remain unavailable whether the season ticket holder has renewed or not, presumably until the "claim your seat" deadline (any idea when that is?). If a current season ticket holder moves seats, the previous behaviour I've seen is that the old seat goes from unavailable to available, and the new seat goes from available to unavailable. In other words, no difference. So anyone renewing in a new seat shouldn't make a difference to the figures. Therefore, the difference between the total number of unavailable seats from today and yesterday means a new season ticket holder. Bear in mind that this could also be people putting a seat in their basket and then not deciding to buy. There is no way to tell that bit, but last summer tells me that it didn't make much difference to the trend. Hope that helps!
  6. I estimate 31 new season tickets sold in the last 24 hours according to my workings out. If everyone renewed today, we'd have 10,403 season ticket holders for next season as things stand.
  7. Still in our hands if we can (admittedly a tall order) get two wins. I disagree we've blown it. The big difference for me is that we've still performed well enough. Hopeful is the correct word. At least it's something.
  8. Oh I did all the donkey work last summer. It's a doddle to get the numbers now. As long as they don't change the technicalities of the seat map. 😭
  9. Not quite the same to blow it in January than to blow it in May.
  10. What I might be able to do for now is deduce is how many new ST holders we have per day. Currently, the seat map tells me there are 10,372 unavailable seats. Until the "save your seat" period ends, it won't be possible to say how many we've sold for next season because all of last season's season ticket seats will be unavailable during this period, whether they're renewed or not. If an existing ST holder moves seats, their previous seat will turn from unavailable to available, so that's -1, and their new seat will turn from available to unavailable, so that's +1. Or 0 (no difference). If a new seat are taken outside of the currently unavailable set, then that's + 1, or a new ST. I will do a count tomorrow and see what the figure gives me.
  11. I thought we had a decent connection with them. They could still be useful to send our "lesser" academy players out on loan to.
  12. Ah, I see - due to Reading and Huddersfield playing.
  13. I suppose you could argue if we're looking for goals, a non-match fit Dack (or even a match-fit one) might not fit our team's style, but he certainly knows where the onion bag is. I suspect he will remain on the bench and only appear if we're looking for a goal in the last twenty minutes of the next couple of games.
  14. Wigan surely down, now. Wonder what Nyambe's agent has lined up for him next? Any other clubs knocking around that are a big downgrade on his current club and don't pay wages?
  15. Luton will be tough. They've lost eight games all season and conceded less than a goal per game on average. We're going to have to be at our best to beat them. Hopefully Luton will play a weakened side and take their foot off the gas. A point means we have something to play for in the last game. It's a bit disappointing to have dropped off as much as we have in recent weeks, but at least we didn't kill our season off months ago like we usually do. I'm not convinced we'll make it, but the season has already gone a lot better than I expected it to. Come on Rovers!
  16. Don't be disheartened. We fought and gave a good account of ourselves. Benson was the difference. We were the better side, overall, but unfortunately, a moment of Premier League quality gave them the win. My biggest worry is that JDT stays in summer. A modest budget, no more contract worries, and I think we'll be serious contenders next season. I have hope that tonight will be a distant memory after next season.
  17. This "weak" team they are supposedly putting out would still probably walk this league. Be under no illusion.
  18. It'll nearly be time for me to dig out my spreadsheets again! I'm not looking forward to this game at all. The last-minute goals we've conceded recently have really cost us, and I wonder if it will take the wind out of what little sails we have. I'm also unconvinced we're capable of putting in an impassioned performance against local rivals. I thought we were good, overall, against Preston, but we've managed performances there in recent seasons, yet against Burnley it seems like we just implode. It sounds like there might be some crowd trouble due to some moronic Dingles. They'll just be waiting to lead by a few before getting cocky. It could get messy. Yuck. I looked forward to the game at the Dingledome with nerves and excitement, but this one... Maybe our fading promotion hopes is getting to me, especially after too many games without a win. I'll watch on RoversTV, but I just want to skip to tomorrow.
  19. Very true. Morton won't be here next season. If we don't go up this season, Wharton will know that he'll be the one to have a proper breakthrough season as a mainstay in midfield next season. You don't sign a five year contract if you want to be off a few months later. Wharton has been primed this season, and he'll have known that was the plan. A real talent that I hope can mature and be a big player for us next season (or at the end of this season would do!).
  20. Losing this would feel dreadful knowing that we've got the Dingles on Tuesday. It would be nice if we could put in a rare blood-and-thunder performance against a local rival, similar to the one we did at Preston last season. Can we? Please? We owe them big time for their embarrassment of us at Ewood. I'm expecting the Dingles to beat us on Tuesday, but beating this lot would be at least some comfort. Promotion race doesn't even enter my thoughts for these next two games. Just some pride and a few points would do.
  21. Sometimes it's best to enjoy Rovers (if that's the right phrase) and turn a blind eye to what others think. We're doing well this season, all things considered!
  22. A night match. We'll have to watch the day unfold. I'd rather this than be the early kick-off. Begin the thread!
  23. This was our best performance for a long time. It was only a draw in the end, but on the balance of play, we should have won. JRC was instrumental in both our goals, and not at fault for any conceded. JRC just plays the wing-back role to perfection. Brittain has had bad luck with injuries, but I'm not sure what he's done in his cameo performances to warrant upsettling JRC. He's been good for months, not days or weeks.
