  1. Yeah fingers crossed with a full pre season under his belt he can get back to his best. Nobody deserves it more than him after two bad injuries either.
  2. Yeah we've tried that over the last few years with the likes of Downing, Johnson and to a lesser extent Ayala. I think age shouldn't be a barrier when it comes to being a leader on the pitch. I use man city as an example they don't have one real captain since cuntany left a couple of years ago. They have seasoned pros and more experienced players, but the focus is on the group rather than one leader. I think we have a decent young squad with some players who have played alot of games at this level especially for their age. If we get a team and a system the players believe in then we shouldn't need 'experience'.
  3. If Gallagher gets ten goals next season I'd be impressed. Surely the only way he stays in the side is if he plays off someone. No way we could rely on him to get enough goals.
  4. I'm hoping signings are coming and soon. Not only because of the earlier start next season, but surely a few new faces through the door will boost season ticket sales.
  5. Yeah I dont think we'd get anywhere near what we want for gally. I think he's a good option to have for this level. Get him playing in the right position with the right coach and tactics and who knows. I'm hoping for lots of new faces so will probably disappointed with whatever we get. Hope we can move away from this loan us your player to then return or go to another club. And focus more on markanday/Armstrong style signings. Pay small fees where the club selling will get a percentage of any profit we make. If it turns out a good move then brilliant if not then it's very small risk involved.
  6. If Burnley end up bringing in palmer, delap and mcatee in from city 🤢. I think we've got the better/more experienced coach but kompany has the better footballing connections unfortunately. Can't wait to see how it all pans out next season.
  7. That's exactly what we should be doing. Taking advantage of a decent ish season, new Manager and there is going to be a lot of new players in. If that doesn't get former season ticket holders back or new faces in then nothing will.
  8. That's us and Preston season ticket prices. I wish I was a young adult 😂.
  9. I don't think we improved at all last season. We had a good run and the teams around us all had bad spells. Otherwise we would've been nowhere near. How we were still in contention with a handful of games to go is incredible. Which is why it was such as massive missed opportunity. We will have to he ten times better to get another shot at the automatics or failing that at a play off place. Every season there is a team or two who over achieve ie Luton and Huddersfield this season just gone. Barnsley before that. This is what we should be aiming to do. We can't compete with parachute payment's and even if we do get players in, we won't spend a fortune.
  10. Just having a quick look and 439 divided by 23 works out at 19 a game. How much are tickets generally? Surely no more than 25. And as low as 15? With all the offers they put on 3 games for 99 and cheaper tickets if we do well again. Is it really worth paying or picking and choosing which games to attend? If you miss one game for whatever reason surely you'll be no better off.
  11. He'll go back to Germany or Holland get 20 plus goals. Terrible business for Burnley though and they'll be desperate to get his 80k a week wages off their books. Loan or loan to buy.
  12. This is the championship. I'am assuming 16/18 teams out of the league, including us the target will be get in or around the play offs.
  13. Let's hope he gets backed and can give the current squad a kick up the arse. If someone doesn't want to be here ship them out. I think the whole contract bollocks with lenihan, nyambe and rothwell over shadowed most of the second half of the season. Get a squad of players full committed and bring on the dingles.
  14. Yeah it says something about lenihan when both tosin and van hecke, two fairly inexperienced lads come in and do a better job. He is decent enough at this level and was obviously club captain but i don't think him leaving is earth shattering. He definitely needs replacing though as will van hecke and nyambe.
  15. Yeah I'd take this over a Grayson/Pardew appointment. If it fails miserably then fair enough but at least let's try something different. Let's hope he gets backed and we can enjoy next season.
  16. I'm married to a dingle and season ticket holder. When my son was born just over two years ago, i said he either comes the rovers with his dad or I'll leave you both 😂.
  17. Yeah he must've had assurances that they are going to have a real go this season. Must be nice haha
  18. He (Darragh) had arguably his best season for rover's last season. It says alot that he's moved to boro and not one of the relegated sides, or a bottom end premier league team. It's a side ways move not a step up which is the worst bit.
  19. Surely Travis is the only real leader who plays regularly in that squad? Maybe kaminski due to experience and how good of player he is.
  20. I mean as in every loan player bar Kasey palmer came in and did well here. The problem being none stay beyond the initial loan. The few freebies and cheap signings he got. Ie pickering and dack have been value for money. Kaminski again absolute class. There are examples where they haven't done as well but on the whole I'd say they did/have. Whether that's down to mowbray or his staff I wouldn't know.
  21. The thing with the director or football means any manager/coach coming in, focuses almost entirely on tactics, the playing style and the players themselves. Looking back at January and how frustrated we were all left, at the lack of signings made to push on. Hopefully if we have a decent director of football in place this wouldn't happen. That said it only works well if the two work well together and more importantly any signings work. Mowbray was an absolute dinosaur but the one place I'll give him credit, he and his staff made very few poor signings.
  22. If we're talking derby like I said either last summer or in January. Louie Sibley is the derby player I'd be looking at.
  23. I've just been rewatching the first series of Sunderland til I die. Grayson would be a terrible appointment. Plenty of better managers out there and available. Some more realistic than others but even still 😅😅😅
