A reasonable end to the window for me now looks something like this; LB - Harry Toffolo (Loan) CM - Dan Barlaser (Perm - £750k?) LW - Ibrahim Cissoko (Loan) LW/ST - Augustus Kargbo (Perm - £1m) ST - Marcus Forss (Perm - £2m?) With the money we've brought in, that should be very achievable and not too far out of reach... Just won't happen though, will it? We'll end up with way worse. Really hoping for a positive end to the window, though I fully expect we'll be let down!

Very true. They could easily free up a space by swapping Hilton for a young keeper, who wouldn't need to be registered to play their part due to age. There's also a likelihood that one of the LB/LW/ST will be a young loanee under the age of 21 (Jayden Danns for example) - therefore also wouldn't need to be registered.

Wouldn't mind that Barlaser link being true, he'd slot right into the squad with Sonny out and bring genuine competition for a place (for both Sonny & Trav) when he's back. With it likely to be a permanent signing, i'd probably favour this over a loan move for O'Brien. You need to have quality in depth, a good starting XI simply isn't enough.

Personally, I think playoffs are just well out of sight now. I'd guess that 74 points does it in this particular season, we'd need 32 points from our remaining 17 games to reach that tally. That's 1.88 points per game on average, 10 wins and 2 draws required. The teams around us have all strengthened, some significantly - whilst we've actually weakened. Realistically, it's just not happening. Absolute sickener after all the hard work from Eustace and the lads. It's genuinely criminal that they haven't backed the gaffer, he worked an actual miracle getting us to where we was... they must forget that we almost got relegated last season, and lost a 33 goal attacker (Szmodics) without adequately replacing him.

It’s mad how casually the days just slip by with nothing happening… We needed players 4 weeks ago, and are currently dropping points like they’re going out of fashion. Other teams around us continue to strengthen, wrapping up quality deals in absolutely no time regardless of where the player is currently playing. We’re the laughing stock of the football league, being comfortably outspent by teams 2/3 divisions below us who could only dream of bringing in the kind of revenue we have over the last couple of years. Absolutely shambolic.
