  1. I feel sorry for any gaffer who ends up working here under these owners and their minions, they simply never stand a chance. Especially someone like Eustace who, as well as being a fantastic coach, seems like an absolute gentleman. Pains me to say such things... Outside of my family and a few close friends, there are very few things that I love more than this Football Club. We're just stuck in absolute limbo, it's a genuine nightmare. The same shit season after season. Every now and again there is a glimmer of hope, yet it's consistently sabotaged by the very people who will benefit as much as anyone from the Club's success.
  2. With Travis and Tronstad both out, Cov' will run the show in the middle. They have pacey full-backs, so our wingers will be completely ineffective. Can't see anything but a Coventry win and clean sheet here, i'll go with a 0-2 loss... and in classic Rovers fashion, it'll obviously be Brandon Thomas-Asante who scores both.
  3. Would be a smart bit of business, though like you said the wages would be an issue - he'd have to take a big pay-cut to come here. Massive resale potential if he could find his groove.
  4. Do we currently have a better winger than him though? Absolutely not. Think they got him for around £800k. For context; We paid £500k for Connor O'Riordan, £750k for Dilan Markanday and over £1.5m for Makhtar Gueye. The bottom line is; Eustace really wanted him, he's better than any of our wingers, and he was going for a modest fee (considering his experience and age). We should have got him.
  5. Current status of the squad; 4 of our main starters (Carter, Pickering, Travis and Ohashi), and now our best player (Tronstad) all injured. We already had nothing up top, now we have nothing in the middle either... these simpletons need to act now and help Eustace out. I honestly had a feint bit of hope that they wouldn't pull this shit again, and that they'd back the gaffer at least a little - how foolish of me.
  6. Eustace paints a frustrated figure in the latest LET article, again reiterating how he needs reinforcements - along with the classic 'nothing imminent' message. It couldn't be more clear that we're lacking quality in attack, we'd have possibly won the Oxford game had they brought in a decent winger and a striker in the last 20 days of the window... We're very fortunate that other results went our way over the weekend, we'd be down to about 8th right now had they not. There are now 14 days left of the window, with 3 games plotted in during that period... they need to stop pissing around now and put their hands in their pockets for the gaffer. He'll be gone at the end of the season if he isn't backed in this window, I feel sure of that - and he isn't short of admirers.
  7. Good spot! Any news on incomings? Really hoping you can deliver some good news and brighten the place up a little 😅
  8. Remember this, was when a bunch of teams were after him too. Massive respect to the lad - loyalty like that is uncommon these days!
  9. True, that probably was their intention until Tronstad went down. If Garrett’s in the squad for the Cov’ game on Tuesday, it’ll tell us everything we need to know about our budget, and of the ambitions of those in charge. Oh no, I don’t think they will. I mean they should… but they won’t.
  10. Absolutely fucked if that’s true about Tronstad. It was bad enough that Travis was out… but both?! They need to bring in a proper midfielder on loan, not a dogshit squad filler, a proper player who can even compete with the 2 of those for a place when they’re fully fit. Lewis O’Brien, Massimo Luongo or someone of a similar ilk. Unfortunately though, there’s no chance with these muppets. It’ll be Buckley, JRC, Forshaw and Garrett for the foreseeable - so we’ll gradually slip out of the playoffs, and into mid-table.
  11. Optimistic! I'll go... LB - Coventry's 5th choice LB (Loan) LW - Martial Godo (Loan) ST - Lukas Jutkiewicz (Free)
  12. Hahaha love it mate, keep them coming 🤣
  13. "Pinder Binson" has me giggling at my desk right now 😅 Think you mean Tyler Bindon hahaha
  14. Would be an amazing bit of business, and make so much sense. Unfortunately, there a 2.5 million reasons why our Owners won't allow this to happen...
  15. Highly doubt we'll win this "race", probably complete bollocks anyway!
  16. Realised we play Coventry on Tuesday... if BTA himself wants the move here, surely he'll be dying to get it done before that. After a bad stint there and a lot of shit from their fans, it'd be pretty poetic for him to come on late and score the winner for us!
  17. Exactly this... £40m+ raked in from players sales in the last couple of years, that should be seen a massive opportunity for the owners. If they invested a mere 25% of that income, £10m, back into the playing squad... they'd; Make the squad very competitive in this league, with play-offs somewhat nailed-on. On the back of the above, promotion becomes very possible... hello PL riches?! Have fresh young assets, who are likely to double/triple/quadruple in value... Then they could literally just rinse/repeat! Worked for Brentford... Sure, keep a chunk of the proceeds from players sales for the bills, i'd totally understand that... but the issue is that they're using all of it for the bills and neglecting the squad. It's just a matter of time before; the money runs out, the assets are all gone, the squad is in dire straits and relegation is back on the cards... then we're back to needing "£20m" a year solely from them again. Surely, they're fantastic business people... right? So how are they not getting this? Would genuinely love to hear their thoughts on it.
  18. A quick scan online suggests Thelo Aasgaard is on less than £3k a week at Wigan! We could triple his wages, he wouldn't even have to move house, and he'd also probably become a regular starter... it just, makes sense. Obvious issue is the reported £3m fee they want for him. Surely that could be negotiated closer to £2m? Or even less with a player included; Markanday or Garrett for example... Whatever the case, really hope we're looking at him - he'll be snapped up by a Championship team soon enough.
  19. Millwall have signed Aaron Connelly. What a weird career he's having... looks a good player, but apparently likes a drink and has a bad attitude.
  20. Absolutely. As much as I don't really rate BTA, i'm starting to come around to the idea the more I think about his attributes... our attack is missing things that he has - and if anyone can get a tune out of him it's Eustace. Bamford however, would be an absolute disaster all-around.
  21. True! I think Eustace and our League position would be enough to make BTA favour a move here, however Stoke could blow us out of the water on wages offered - suppose it'll make for a good marker on what the player is looking for!
  22. Eustace on BTA; "I don't think anything is imminent in the next few days, not that I'm aware of," Eustace explained. "Brandon is another good player at this level. We have been linked with a lot of strikers already from the league. He's someone with good pedigree and someone who has done well over the last few seasons. "I don't know if there has been a bid. I'm not aware if that's happened and if it has, ok, brilliant." -------------------- Feel like BTA is gonna happen personally... wouldn't be my pick i'll be honest! However, gotta trust Eustace, he knows much more than I do on such matters. He states that "nothing is imminent in the next few days" - somewhat worrying given that there are only 18 days left of the window... we don't have days to waste! Then again - last time he said nothing was imminent, we signed Sanderson and Forshaw in the following 2/3 days... 🤷‍♂️ A lot of fixtures coming up though... and we haven't improved the squad at all. Get a move on!
  23. Oh yeah, he has some positive physical attributes for sure. What I said, is that he's possibly the worst footballer i've ever seen; his touch, ball control, shooting, dribbling, positioning. Absolutely not of Championship standard.
  24. Absolutely class player, would consider the playoffs nailed-on if we signed him. No chance though, his wages are probably huge too!
  25. To start off - I maintain, BTA is shite. I've bagged on him quite a lot since the link came up earlier I must say... but I will admit one thing about the lad - he's definitely not as shit as Makhtar Gueye, despite the fact that Gueye has more goal contributions this season. Gueye is possibly the worst footballer i've ever seen, how he's got to this level is a mystery... Now, if we could offload Gueye for half of what we paid for him, and replace him with BTA for something more around £1m - then i'd agree with many that it'd be good business, and certainly an upgrade. Trying to be less negative about how shit BTA is.
