  1. Will be pissed if Middlesbrough get JPVH on loan. Really can't stand them! I wish them nothing but misery and failure. In saying that, I feel like Brighton might want to keep JP around. So it probably won't happen.
  2. Wouldn't be fussed if we missed out on Porteous, not in the slightest. If Ayala is released - Hyam and Scott Wharton make a solid pair at this level. Plus, our midfield has been costing us games, not our defenders. Signing Porteous would impede the development of our younger defenders, more specifically i'm thinking of Ash Phillips. We're incredibly fortunate to have a young prospect like Phillips in our ranks, given his potential he's probably the envy of most clubs in the country - including teams in the PL! We need to give Ash opportunities, help him fulfil his potential, and give him a reason to commit to the Club long-term. The financial benefits that we'd reap from this, could be off the scale. If we truly are a development squad, this is what we need to do. Forget about Porteous I say. Put the money towards an experienced CDM who can complement the likes of Buckley and Adam Wharton.
  3. Is it too late for them to move in for Bezza Diaz as a quick replacement? £6m and JPVH sounds fair!
  4. Could do with this getting over the line pronto, 20% sell-on clause isn't it? That'd be around £3-4m if he went to United... but it'lll be more around £5-6m when they manage to shaft £30m out of Chelsea.
  5. I'd be well on board with that. Unfortunately though, he'll probably go to Norwich or WBA if anywhere.
  6. Looks good this Undav doesn't he? Definitely a bagger - exactly what we're crying out for. He'll thrive at WBA/Norwich.
  7. Pretty much! With teams like Udinese interested, our chances of landing Porteous are close to zero i'd assume. This part I found interesting; "Leeds United attacker Joe Gelhardt is a live target, although it is understood that he isn’t currently the No.1 option, with other deals in the works which have so far remained under the radar." We'll drag our feet with Gelhardt, and miss out on him... great. I wonder who this "No.1 option" could be? Considering George Hirst was previously that, my expectations are low... let's just hope they get it right this time.
  8. Thought we had a clear run at this Porteous lad, would have been a great bit of business... then in swoop Udi-f***ing-nese. Annoying! Guess he'll be playing against us for Watford next month.
  9. Bristol City haven't been awarded a penalty in a very very long time... hilariously, their fans have even set up a website tracking how long it's been since their last one (https://www.bristolcitypenalty.co.uk/). Now that it's gone viral, I wonder who will resolve that for them? Rovers of course! The gift that just keeps on giving. This I feel, is absolutely nailed on. Nakhi Wells (it'll have to be him) will be clean through early on, before being brought down in the box... the home fans can't believe it, finally a Penalty! Wells will step up to take it, slot it and proceed to 'shush' our travelling fans. That'll be 1-0 to them, which of course, also means 3 points for them. The match will probably finish 2-0, since Wells will then go and randomly smash one in from 30 yards or something, shushing our fans again. We experience more heartbreak, with a hint of betrayal, as we slide down to about 8th.
  10. I like Carter, think he's done alright when he's played - we'd kick ourselves down the line if we released him or let him go on the cheap, I feel sure of that.
  11. He could do okay here, but I doubt we'd go for someone like him... he'd want way higher wages than we could offer too. We need someone younger and faster with resale potential - problem is, attackers of that ilk cost a good few quid to begin with - like Brereton. Let's hope this rumoured 'war chest for marquee signings' is actually a real thing. If not, I guess we'll have to pray that Harry Leonard can hit the ground running.
  12. Looks like a bid has been submitted for Ryan Porteous. Doesn't seem like we need him just yet, as others have said - but he's no doubt being brought in to replace Ayala, and coming in early should have him ripe and ready for next season. This will be a big saving on wages, a quality bit of business considering he'll cost us ~£500k. Replacing a player before he's gone, love to see it! Now we just need to try and do the same with Diaz...
  13. You'd think we'd be in with a shout, we probably look quite appetising at a glance too - a big club with a great bit of history, usually floating in or around the play-off spots, good ground etc. But realistically, we've no chance of landing any of the good free agents. Dan Barlaser for example, is reportedly on about £5k a week at Rotheram. He'd probably be delighted to come here, continue playing in the championship and increase his wages a bit... then all of a sudden Middlesbrough or West Brom storm in, offer him around £15-20k a week and it's onto the next one for us. Meanwhile, the quality of these freebies gets lower and lower, until just the rejects remain. Our best chance would be to pay a bit of a fee and try to nab them now, but that can't happen... JDT continues to reiterate how skint we are.
  14. Some cracking players on that list, certainly wouldn't mind Dan Barlaser and Lucas Joao. Who am I kidding? None of the better players on that list would come here. They'll be offered way better deals by other clubs, and they'd probably all get in there before us anyway, considering how slow we are to pull the trigger.
  15. If we could get Cantwell for £2m, on say £14k/w until 2026 - i'd certainly take the gamble. The figures above are miniscule compared to what he'd be worth if we managed to get him back to his best, I think he just needs a completely fresh start. Even if that failed, it wouldn't be our biggest waste of money in recent times.
  16. They must be keeping a tight lid on transfer info' at Rovers, the media don't seem to be catching any genuine leaks at all. The wait is frustrating for us fans, but at least it can allow us to secure deals without competition from the richer clubs around us. Ahmedhodzic being hijacked by Sheff U continues to haunt me... if the silence can prevent similar situations in the future, then so be it! Other other hand, it's also possible that there is simply no movement on transfers, and therefore nothing to actually report on... let's hope this isn't the case!
  17. Yeah he's played a bunch of games for them, he also played a couple of times for Watford early this season before moving there. So won't be able to play for another club.
  18. Yeah probably absolute tripe... but wow, i'd certainly be on board if that turned out to be true.
  19. If he gains a bit of confidence I think Mola could make a cracking CDM at this level.
  20. Just saw that, having a medical I believe. This likely reduces the chances of Dembele going out on loan, one I know a few of us were hoping for!
  21. I recall that JDT said he wanted players in sooner in the window, rather than later... I also remember he wanted players in, before players went out. As it stands, we've sent 2 packing (Hirst/Annesley), with 3 more likely to be off soon (Edun/Mola/Brown). Meanwhile, no rumours for incomings... whilst we sit in 3rd, and urgently need to make improvements if we're looking for promotion. Maybe things are happening and they're doing a good job of keeping it under wraps? If not however, they need to get a bloody move on with just 20 days left!
  22. He looked bright the other week when he came on against Man City - could probably do a job in the Championship. I'd take him here for sure on the right terms.
  23. At 20 years old there's some good potential in Morton, if he can bulk up a bit and be braver in the challenge he could make a solid player of himself.
