  1. Time to shake things up a bit, the current system clearly isn't working. I think we need to go less defensive with the formation, in spite of the fact that the defence has been the only slight positive recently. Would like to see Gallagher play in his natural position and I think Hedges could thrive at CAM, I recall the Aberdeen fans saying he's a creator who's capable of making things happen. This is how i'd line up this weekend; Perhaps it's not too wise to switch it up for QPR (particularly from a defensive viewpoint)... but honestly, I really can't see how we will manage even a point against them at the moment anyway. Worth a punt IMO.
  2. Not full of confidence for this one, they've hit a great patch of form lately. I really can't see how we score against this lot, after being unable to against the likes of WBA and Swansea. I'm quite the optimist, and will generally predict a clutch win in these sorta games. But i'm just not feeling it this time, 2-0 Sheff U. Really hope i'm wrong, but either way - COYB!
  3. It's realistic to predict that we'd come straight back down, but promotion would be absolutely transformational for the club regardless. The huge cash injection would help us pay off debts, offer long contracts to our current players and make some quality signings. The value of our young promotion winners would skyrocket too - stick them on long contracts and we could absolutely rinse anyone who moves in for them. The gate would also increase substantially, every match i'd expect a minimum of 20k home fans at Ewood in the Prem. Then if we go back down: Strong championship squad, parachute payments, relief from debts and confidence around the club. I'll take it!
  4. Praying for 3 points in this one. Tony says we'll have Darragh back which is good, hoping to see the following team; A draw isn't enough if we're looking to remain in the top 6, Millwall aren't to be taken too lightly either - they beat WBA 2-0 only a couple of weeks ago. Last night wasn't the most frustrating performance we've put out in recent weeks - hopefully we can build on that and grab a win on Saturday.
  5. A couple of notes on the game last night. Don't know where to start with JRC. A performance he'll want to forget. However i'm mindful of the fact that he's just had a long lay-off, out of position, got thrown in last minute etc. Would like to see him play with the U23's for a bit. Nyambe was brilliant, play him at every opportunity. If it's him or Deyo, there is no debate. Wharton - defensively brilliant as ever. However, I find his long balls to be very wasteful and frustrating at times. He also needs to work on his offensive heading, he does a great job at getting his head on corners but the accuracy is poor. Brereton - Shades of Diaz in last nights performance, he really stood out at times. Needs to watch his line though, 2 offside goals! Hope his knock isn't anything too serious. Dolan - Must start against Millwall. Gives his all every single minute, plays like he's Blackburn born and bred - the energy and passion oozes off him. Overall - not the worst result, but we've again left the teams around us drooling. We really needed 3 points and could have spanked this lot with more brains and composure in the final 3rd. For weeks we've been very sloppy around the middle too, constantly giving the ball away for large chunks of the game - urgently needs looking at. WBA had lost their previous 3 games 0-2. It's gonna really hit home when they lose to Luton at the weekend, and then get a battering off 'Boro shortly after. Anyway... fingers crossed for +3 against Millwall on Saturday.
  6. Whilst QPR and Bournemouth have games in hand, it shouldn't worry us too much. They still have to squeeze in the extra fixtures and get points from them, which isn't at all a guarantee. I took note of the fact that both of them have somewhat difficult fixtures in April, right near the finishing line where they'll be pushing for points... hopefully they fold under the pressure, whilst we have something of an 'easier' run to end the season (for the most part). If we can manage a couple of wins and a couple of draws from now until we play Fulham in early March i'll be pleased, since after that you'd fully expect us to win the majority of our remaining games. I don't think QPR will beat 'boro tomorrow, hopefully Birmingham can grind a result at Bournemouth... and we'll beat Forest, 2-0!
  7. Luton went life and death with a massively depleted squad of ours, on their own patch, never really looked like scoring and IMO only managed a draw due to us having none of our main attackers. 3 days later that same squad goes to Swansea and makes them look like a borderline league 2 team. I think we're gonna absolutely spank Swansea on Saturday. 0-3
  8. Liam Delap is currently in Blackburn's Pizza Hut with his agent, seen enjoying a Pepperoni with stuffed crust
  9. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19886552.blackburn-rovers-stand-firm-bournemouth-call-off-joe-rothwell-pursuit/ I think you're right, due to train this afternoon according to the above article
  10. Personally can only see us loaning Giles. Would have been interesting to see who TM was looking at buying with the Rothwell money... a tough road back for Joe!
  11. Depends. Does he also semi-expect the scorelines from his dreams to come to fruition? Whilst in reality, he's likely to end up feeling cold and disappointed with a hint of betrayal? If so, then the answer is yes.
  12. Fear not my fellow Rovers, for last night I dreamt that we would win this game 3-2. Previous dreams of mine may not have come true, granted... but this could well be the one.
  13. • • Khadra Markandy • • • Rothwell Buckley Travis • • Edun Nyambe • • • Wharton van Hecke Lenihan • Kaminski That's gotta be the squad against 'boro. If I discover Gally is starting, I think i'll just munch my hotdog then consider heading home
  14. Pretty much what I was thinking - If done by this weekend with 15/20m cleared to reinvest in the squad i'd take it. Highly unlikely, I imagine they'll make a move for him near the end of the window, if at all - in which case i'd tell them to scram.
  15. West Ham manager David Moyes has put Blackburn's 20-goal hitman Ben Brereton Diaz at the top of his January shopping list. - Sky Sports Paper Talk Still a possibility that Breo could be swiped this month, hopefully not!
  16. Yeah I saw this earlier, was pleased to see it! Like you said his form hasn't been great, but he can be an absolute nuisance on a good day, so i'm chuffed to see he likely won't be featuring. At a glance, this is a game we should be winning quite comfortably... but there's just something about this fixture that leaves me with a slight lack of confidence. The nature of the loss against Wigan over the weekend didn't help, i'm hoping it won't affect our momentum in the league too much. Though I think a draw might be on the cards, i'm gonna be optimistic and say 1-0 Rovers - Khadra to bag.
  17. After skimming that video, I quite like the look of this Zeefuik. If the speculation is true, I think it most definitely suggests Nyambe is on his way out... not ideal, but Zeefuik as a replacement + £3m for Nyambe's sale isn't exactly the worst thing that could happen to the club this window.
