From Elliott's latest article; "Rovers are financially sound in terms of keeping the lights on but there doesn't appear to be much of a transfer war chest to play with despite the sale of Adam Wharton and sell-on profit from David Raya. Any additions at the top end of the pitch may have to wait until later in the window, via the loan market. August 20, the final date for Venky's court hearing, feels growingly prominent considering how the transfer window is shaping up." Disgusting isn't it, what is actually the point? We've made £29m in player sales since last summer. £29,000,000. Twenty-nine-million-pounds. If we don't have a good budget after sales like that, I can't see when we ever will. Our greatest ever Academy product, who's gone on to play for England 4 months after leaving us, a local lad who bleeds Blue and White to this day - sold on the cheap to keep the fucking lights on. These owners make me sick, absolute scum.

If we're gonna make signings, they'll need a proper pre-season. They need to start getting active in the window, since they'll now know the budget. The "quiet while the Euro's are on" excuse can be dropped too - unless of course, we're looking at International players for England, Spain, Netherlands or France...

Preston have bid for Harrison Burrows... likely around £3m. Preston, who like us, usually have an operating loss between £15m-£20m every year. Preston, who have somewhat similar attendances to us. Preston, who unlike us, haven't had £29m in players sales since last summer. (with probably another ~£15m on the way this summer) They're tabling decent bids on top talents. We're looking at cheap freebies. Our Owners are a joke.

Since last summer... Phillips - £2m Kaminski - £2.5m Ennis - £0.5m A. Wharton - £18m Raya - £5m Wahlstedt - £1m £29m from selling assets right there... We're also likely to get another £8m-£12m for Szmodics, plus it's very possible that we'll sell the likes of Gallagher, Travis and Dolan too. There is absolutely no excuse for them to not spend a decent £10m-£15m or so on players... but they don't care, they still won't spend a penny.

Fully agree. The title rubbed me up the wrong way too "Trav better following his Tractor Boys experience"... They only loaned him because Morsy was unavailable, and he hardly played in the end. He's the player he is today thanks to Blackburn Rovers, and our Academy - 333 minutes across 9 games at Ipswich hasn't suddenly turned him into Roy fucking Keane.

"John Eustace is working with a tight budget to improve his squad this summer" - after we've brought in north of £25m since last summer from player sales. There's actually nothing to look forward to anymore regarding Rovers. No matter who we sell and how much we get, it's irrelevant - it all goes towards running costs, just to save the negligent billionaire owners a few quid. It was incredibly clear after last season, that we'll go down without proper investment. Yet, they have the audacity to talk about it being 30 years since we won the PL and will release kits reminiscent of 94/95... while relegation to League One is pretty much nailed on. It's actually quite poetic, in a sense that it will perfectly encapsulate how the Venky's have dismantled everything Jack built. I constantly hope for something to be happy about as a Rovers fan, but always get the opposite. We're very clearly in a managed decline. The Venky's, Suhail, and Waggott are absolute scum. August 20th can't come soon enough - get them out.

Vale will definitely be moved on. He's had opportunities, but failed to impress. He's clearly League One level at best. With Leonard and Telalovic around, and a huge prospect in Tyjon coming through - there simply isn't room for him in the squad anymore... and this is before you consider Gallagher (or his replacement if he's sold), who's actually the first choice before all of the above.

Due to the Eustace connection and money we've brought in, there's been a sort of expectancy that we'll take advantage of Birmingham's relegation, and raid them of their best players... However, with the way the window is shaping up, I find it far more likely that they'll actually be the ones raiding us of our players 😅

Good luck to the lad! I do think there could be a player in there tbh, but it simply hasn't worked out here - it happens sometimes! It normally takes an absolute age for us to finalise deals for incoming players... will that be the case with this outgoing sale? Absolutely not. Outgoings are always wrapped up in no time.

Yeah can see it on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/live/-oVR8K81oBU?si=mVoroQcKU-kzoEcK

Same. Expect Waggott will have had to approve the questions to some capacity… hell, probably the answers too!
-
Yep, no mention of the budget or reinvesting the money brought in… questions seemed very tame considering the shite we have to put up with!
