Yes I've been especially impressed by what I've seen from Dolan. The good thing about the pressing is that it doesn't require mega talent to do. Just hard graft and a bit of nous to close down the space. Mowbray must be given some credit for drilling it into the players to do that. I've seen us concede too many times over the years because players are too lazy to go and win the ball back after losing it, especially the forwards.

Reports are conflicting and Wikipedia is not the most reliable source at times. I don't think there are many contemporary reports discussing this. All the things I've ever seen about this are after the fact. Fact is we've played in the famous blue and white for a lot longer than most clubs have existed.

Unfortunately those types of player are not encouraged in the game any more. I think the way they coach players now there is no tolerance of players taking someone on and beating them. Heavens forbid that might lose possession. As effective as pressing and passing is, I find it quite tedious and boring. As in all facets of life now, individuality has been eradicated in favour of homogenised mediocrity.

Whatever happened to good old 442 getting it down the channels and banging it into the box? Those were the days.
