I honestly don't understand why 'knowing the club' would make a jot of difference when choosing a new manager long term. For an interim appointment for a few matches when you're in a tail spin, I get it. We saw it here many times with Tony Parkes. Figures like that can galvanise the place and get everyone pulling in the same direction. Long term it doesn't matter and really what is there to know about any football club that can't be gleaned from a quick 5 minute skim on Wikipedia. Celtic - Catholic separatists Rangers - Protestant loyalists Main objective, beat the other lot. Any more than that will be picked up whilst on the job. Did Souness or Dalglish 'know' this club? I don't remember that mattering at all. The only thing that is important is what will be happening on the pitch. Nobody will give a fuck as long as the results are good.

I never said you were wrong about me encouraging people not to go. I do encourage folk to not give the regime their hard earned money for the reasons discussed. The top tier was closed by the club, therefore if you used to sit in the top tier then you were forced out of your seat with the option of either relocating or stop going. That has absolutely nothing to do with folk not going, that has everything to do with the way the club is being run. You say you didn't think I posted the picture, well evidently you did: Best you give this up now as it's getting almost as embarrassing as when you proudly proclaimed that you didn't understand what luck is. Also, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here. You say you understand why people aren't going yet seem to look down on those who choose to not go. Just because you pay a small fortune every year to watch the games at Ewood doesn't make you any better or worse than someone who chooses not to. I don't care either way what folk do, it doesn't change the fact that giving money to the club subsidises the owner's costs. I chose nearly 15 years ago to not give them a single penny and I never have and never will. That doesn't make me any more or less of a fan than you or anyone else (apart from the venky apologists. Fuck those stupid cunts). The fact remains that seeing Ewood in it's current state is thoroughly depressing after spending many years there in its prime. When these criminals are gone, I'll be there to pick up the pieces with the rest of the Rovers faithful.

From what I have been told, and I fully trust the person who told me this, the final straw for Saint Steven was the decision to relegate the Women's team. So even for an odious parasite like him, that was a bridge too far. Still, best keep him on the payroll for another 18 months just in case.
