  1. I swear down that I didn't write this and that I am not Trevor Wilkin.
  2. This is a midweek away game so not much point even showing up. Just give Boro their default 3-0 win and move on to the weekend.
  3. Totally agree, BRFCS may not be a majority group within the wider fanbase but it's certainly one of the most dedicated and possibly more objective groups. Why did this arrangement come to an end?
  4. Been to the Riverside years ago. Dystopian is the word that springs to mind when describing that place. Midweek, away. We'll get bummed for sure.
  5. Agents aren't allowed to run football clubs but that happened here. Even when the so called authorities were presented with concrete evidence of this they did absolutely nothing.
  6. That would cost an exuberant amount of money as you'd need to install a massive detention chamber with a pumped outlet. As o2g mentioned, that's a ridiculous outlay just to prevent postponing one match every few years or even decades. None of that matters as the level of the river dictates the outfall. As I'm sure everyone knows water always sits level. This is a one off weather event where, if what people said earlier is correct, you have snow melting and large rainfall. There's not much that can be done about this, and since the wealthy corporations and governments are doing absolutely fuck all to tackle the issues that we all face, we're only going to see more of these sorts of events. In short, this probably isn't the club's fault on this one, but I'd put money on there being a long list of works that the ground staff are needing to undertake that aren't being done as we're operating on a do minimum model that will ultimately be more expensive than just doing the job properly.
  7. Well luckily I am a civil engineer with 10 years of drainage behind me as well. All the stormwater drainage at Ewood will be discharged into the river. If the river is absolutely bulging like has been suggested then there's nowhere for the water to go. Couple this with fourteen years of total neglect and you've got standing water that isn't going away. Not the club's fault really here as this sounds like an extreme weather event, but as per usual it's a problem that will be made worse by the way things have been run for the last fourteen years.
  8. It will be interesting to see if he does get a point. Hopefully he doesn't, one less relegation place to worry about.
  9. We all know that they can do much much worse.
  10. And people scoffed when I said they'd be charging £650 for a season ticket. I'm looking forward to seeing what the price will be next season.
  11. No, the crossbarron loan was to pay running costs and was mortgaged against the training ground that is owned by the other venkys company. The club would have to buy it back from that company.
  12. Ah yes, forgot about him. All aboard the Blackburn Rovers employment merry go round.
  13. People keep bringing up Bury as an example despite the two clubs being worlds apart. Also, their demise was because their owner decided to liquidate the clup rather than put it in administration as far as I'm aware.
  14. I believe there was a decent gap between Gus Williams resigning and John Park returning. Wouldn't be surprised to see that happening again. January is shaping up to be another self engineered disaster.
  15. Backing JDT with any kind of decent funding would have yielded great results. He's a winner and ambitious players will see that and want to be a part of what he was trying to achieve. Unfortunately the ambition ended with him and as soon as the slightest glimpse at the rest of the club was seen by potential players they were off to a real club. Had he been given even £1million in the January window we'd have likely managed to get into the automatic places. Instead the owners and their underlings did everything they could to sabotage those efforts.
  16. Rush - The Spirit Of Radio
  17. Fair do's, supporting his local club even when they were shit. A proper fan.
  18. The majority of people including players, fans, managers think they are a pile of wank.
  19. Thanks to venkys this isn't a problem that will be of concern to us.
  20. First of all, I heard about this before I moved abroad which was over 10 years ago. I am a Blackburn native hence my militant stance on what constitutes a tea cake. Second, you're metric of the academy producing players is an interesting one. It would be interesting to see the amount of Premier League appearances made by academy players prior to the takeover. I can only think of two that have made it at that level since.
