  1. Ah; okay. That's better, Ben. As they (we?) used - probably wrongly, even then ‐ to say back in the day, "We're the ones as pays his wages."
  2. Because there's Rock All on TV that I want to watch tonight, I thought - not realising you'd already posted this, @LeftWinger ‐ I'd go through some of the threads on here, including this one. And I know it's easy to quote selectively to make a point but if feels like some of those early judgements on him were, shall we say, a tad too harsh? I particularly liked some of SS's own comments in @chaddyrovers' post above. Feels like he's - SS, that is - properly settled into being a Rover! Now all we need is for Gregg to find us a good big Centre-forward for SS to play alongside!
  3. For me, the first question is "Will JDT still be here in mid-August?" If not, I guess we're fooked; back on the merry-go-round of previously failed Championship Managers and more or less destined - maybe not next season, but inevitably ‐ to follow Blackpool and Wigan Pathetic to Division Three‐really. And from there, who knows?? And who'll grieve? Certainly not our owners who are so proud of owning an English Premier League club that they never show their faces within 4,000 Miles of Blackburn. Nor time-servers like Waggott. No; the only ones who'll grieve as Rovers suffer death by 1,000 cuts will be me and the "mates I've never met" (with the honourable exceptions of Bazza, Leonard Venkhater & Russ) on here.
  4. But preferably not FF Trelleborg, please?!😉 That journey's etched on my soul!! If we have a Scottish training camp pre-season like we did before the season just ended, maybe we could fix up some Scottish Premiership/League One opposition different from the teams we've played since about 2018. (NOT Queen's Park, for Historic reasons, though!)
  5. After the roller coaster ride which was listening to the Radio commentary on today's match, I'm now buzzing for the middle of next month: when the new fixtures will come out; and for news of what signings up front Gregg has managed to identify to fit in with what JDT requires to provide more of a consistent threat in next season's Championship.
  6. My question about Leeds was a rhetorical question, @chaddyrovers !
  7. As a Rovers' fan who was with two mates at our game at the - unsegregated - old Den in 1976/77 when we won by 1-0 in a match which was filmed by the BBC Panorama programme for an investigation into fans' violence, so did mine this afternoon. After Bobby Svarc had scored the only goal of the game, we took a vow of silence until we were safe ‐ locked inside my mate's brother's car and moving away from the ground. It helped that my mate's brother lived and worked dahn sahf and that there was nothing on the car to indicate his - or our - loyalties.
  8. Haven't they been linked with every Big Club manager??
  9. Remembering an interview he gave on Football Focus early in the season just ended in which, if memory serves, he gave more credit to Southport than Rovers for his career development, that wouldn't surprise me, either.
  10. Oh ye of little faith, @yankfan ! 😉😁😅😂🤣
  11. South East London 3; BRFC 4. Just like Charlton (A) in 1957!! Pity it's Mr. Gurning-Drizzlecake who's going to benefit!😦
  12. And then you see the devilish cunning of Waggott; get all the money in before they implode in the last game of the season.
  13. We still need one more; this really is the "Must-win", rather than "Must-not-lose" game. And even then it may not be enough.
  14. And for anyone of us who doesn't (yet!) pay for Sky, and/or who remembers promotion to Division 1 in South East London 1957 on the last day of the season, there's live commentary on the game on talkSPORT.
  15. Thank you, Chaddy. Too late for this season, I fear; not for next.
  16. Talk about tarring a bloke with a brush, @Mattyblue , eh?! I really must keep up-to-date with my prejudices!!
  17. I don't have Sky so, arguably, I've no status in a debate like this. But if I did pay Murdoch, I almost certainly wouldn’t pay him to watch tomorrow's game. Watching the game at the ground, I'd feel that my chanting all the chants and cheering the team on might ‐ just possibly! - make a difference. Chanting all the chants and cheering the team on from my settee would only serve to alienate my next-door neighbour for the discordant racket I'd make!
  18. Clutching at straws, as a fan who "collects" away grounds, that'd suit me!!
  19. Sorry; I honestly couldn't face coming on here since the night of That Lot winning. One of the nurses on the Ward I was on in the R.B.H was in the Blackburn End that night and she gave us a report the following morning. It was heart-breaking. Ah well; doubtless we'll all be back on here for the season that begins in August. As Google's just told me that someone on an American TV Series that I've never seen said, "It's the hope that kills you." True, dat!
  20. Please could I ask all Rovers' fans to remember those of our number who can't be in our traditional seats tonight because we're in Hospital? Please give those boys in Blue 'n' White a specially loud cheer on behalf of those of us - special pleading on behalf of yours truly, who would MUCH rather be in the Riverside than in the Royal Blackburn Hospital from 8.00! - who, having endured a hellish journey home from the Away game, can't be at the game of the year to see justice done. Thanks, lads!😉
  21. Isn't there a Crown facility about a couple of miles south of Ewood?! Win-win; smarten up Ewood and support local industry!
  22. I've ticked, "Wouldn't care at all." Why should I? They don't care about one of the things that I've cared most about for at least 69 of my 77 years. At present, they're the least of my problems; it feels like we can't do anything about them so I'm focusing on things I can influence. And Venky's ownership of Rovers isn't one of them.
  23. In the same role as Trent Alexander Arnold; allegedly Liverpool's Right Back, @joey_big_nose?
  24. You may recall a ginger-haired Rovers-supporting Boarder at our school 60+ years ago, @bazza , who had he heard you making a boast like that, would have been asking what her name was! Google cites the maxim, "To the pure, all things are pure" from one of the Epistles!!
