  1. But that's the whole point, only Hyam made an impact last season, to a much lesser degree Szmodics. Other than that, he inherited a squad which he took to 7th,some say he overachieved with that position, others say the opposite. I'm not so much comparing how they both did, but the situation they've left the club in. We'd all now take 7th bottom. You're making it a Mowbray v Tomasson thing, but Mowbray's situation was largely of his own making, Tomasson has been reliant on The Goonies. He's been badly let down, which is a shame because there's a good bloke there. It's just a good job that the club was as stable as it was, because Broughton and Co look to have taken us back 3 or 4 years. They've actually employed about 10 more people and made it worse.
  2. I wouldn't dispute any of that, and some of the football under Tomasson has been the best in a decade, especially earlier this season. The trouble with Mowbray, with the club as it is, it was always very much a case of careful what you wish for. It's this insistence that him leaving was the best for the club, when in hindsight it's looking like a right dog's dinner, we can't even get paperwork right. Incidentally, we never seem to cock up when it comes to selling, especially for £22 million.
  3. He left a squad which finished 8th then 7th, where are we now less than 12 months later? My God, we have fallen off a cliff.
  4. Mowbray's points averaged over the season would have had us in 8th.The damage, as well you know, was already done. Said at the time he should have been given another 2 years, just as a safe pair of hands. We finished 7th last season with virtually all the players Mowbray left, except for Hyam and maybe Szmodics towards the end of the season. The dismantling of his good work has been startling.
  5. Ronan Keating has rung me, he said if you must quote him, at least get the words right.
  6. Here is my problem with any protest. Let's say that it achieves the objectives you've stated, the protests smash their reputation to pieces and everyone thinks they're a bunch of incompetent morons. Would you say that it aids the club in reaching an amicable separation, given the debt involved? I'm with Mr T on this one, to say it's a delicate situation is an understatement.
  7. Absolutely, it isn't so much if and when they leave, but how they leave.
  8. If they've turned up Monday and trained well and worked on what they need to do,you know, done what they're paid to do, we should win. If they've turned up with a face like a slapped arse, looking for excuses, we've no chance. Both scenarios include both playing and coaching staff.
  9. I said when we were leaving on Saturday, when do we have to come back again?
  10. What we need is someone who can get the best out of the players we've got, rather than sulking about what we haven't got,we just haven't got time for belly aching. If Tomasson is up for it then fair enough, get on with it, if not then get rid. I'd personally be giving Solsjaer a ring, see what he's up to, but contrary to popular belief, there would be a fair queue. Eustace does seem like a motivator, as does Rowett, but do they fit in with the "project"?
  11. I'd agree with that, maybe throw Tronstad in as he at least kept going and kept the ball moving. A goal always gets forgotten when you lose, but good to see Gallagher score again, 2 in a week, let's hope he can keep it going.
  12. You've said it better than I could. My granddaughter came today, she's 12 and plays all the time, rather than watching. Twenty minutes in she said when did him with the bun come on?
  13. You're right, I'm not exonerating anyone of blame, but that doesn't help at 3 o'clock next Saturday. Lancaster Rover has summed it up perfectly above.
  14. Come on, they can play a lot better than they did today, their second goal was pathetic from our point of view. At that point, I have to admit I wasn't blaming Waggot for not closing Hodge down, sorry.
  15. I'm not excusing anyone anything. Whatever happens at board level happens, but they're not playing against Stoke next Saturday and we badly need a result.
  16. The owners aren't picking the team, or pulling their boots on, let's not make it an excuse. That today wasn't acceptable and it will lead to relegation.
  17. Agreed, we've played some great stuff this season, we know we can do it. I just can't do with the thought of sulking behind the scenes. We're in a position where we can't afford anything less than 100%. To be honest, I'm way past pinning my colours to the mast of any player, coach or manager. They can all stay or go, I'll get over it.
  18. If he wants to go, then go. If he wants to stay then stay, but what we can't afford is for him to stay and be sulking around the place. I don't go to work all week to watch that gutless shite on a Saturday, I don't care whose fault it is.
  19. Andy Bayes was gushing in his praise for the groundsman on radio Lancashire before the Wrexham game, saying what a good job he'd done.
  20. Decent signings Fleck and Mcfadzean, adding much needed experience and bollocks.
  21. I liked Yates at Blackpool, I'm not saying he wouldn't be a good signing, although apparently Swansea would be happy to cut their losses already, which casts a bit of a doubt. I just think I'd rather stick with Gallagher personally, if he's fit I'd say he's quite a bit more accomplished, and experienced at Championship level. It's all about opinions.
  22. There is always a big emphasis on Gallagher's wages, makes me wonder what percentage of his wages Yates would be on. My opinion, I certainly wouldn't swap. The only possible consideration would be Gallagher's injury record.
  23. According to Rich Sharpe, about a 40% more chance of winning when he played last season. My only doubt would be his injury record, other than that, I think we'd struggle to get anywhere near to replacing him with the money being mentioned.
