  1. I think that is the likeliest scenario. JDT for months is saying AW needs to do more in training to get back in team. Months later AW is picked AW: I needed to do more in training.
  2. The trouble with pricing tickets at £429 (BBE) is that it doesn't take many missed games for the ST to be poor value. At £25 per match day ticket you could buy 17 and it would be only £425.00. Miss 6 home games and it's cheaper not buying a ST (especially when you factor in the cheap match-day deals they do during the season). There are other factors involved (convenience, habit, mates etc) but price is obviously key for a lot of people at the moment.
  3. Wharton in LT: “The gaffer has a lot of experience in the game and he knows how to get young players into the team and manage their development. Obviously I think I could have played more but it’s worked out and I think I’ve played well and maybe he has judged it right. I could have played more but maybe not as well as I have.” If he had chucked the toys out, they are firmly back in the pram! It was all probably bullshit/exaggerated, like most rumours. But he's clearly had to get used to JDT's ways: Wharton has had to get accustomed to Tomasson’s demands every day in training in what is his first year in senior football. “I think that’s the right way to go about things, especially in the sport that we’re in,” Wharton said. “It’s very competitive in the Championship so you’ve got to challenge everyone in the team and I think that’s the right way to go about things. “If you do it day in day out, professionally, to the best of your ability throughout the whole season it becomes a habit and raises the standards of everyone in the team. “Only good things can come out of that.”
  4. It should deffo be the cheapest stand, but I'm sure Waggott will have 'data' on why everybody would move en masse from the other stands to the RS. RS - £250 BBE - £300 JWL - £325 JWU - £400
  5. we only need to sell 1600 from here to beat last seasons Full ST sales - was it not 8.6k by the end of August 22?
  6. Looks like we will, and then that defeats your argument. The real argument is comparisons with other clubs in our local area and their sales figures - not if we sell 200 more ST's this year than last year.
  7. Not moving half the home games from 3pm Sat slot and still charging full whack for a ST. If you can only make 10 home matches then you're paying £40 a match. Not the clubs fault, but buying a ST under those conditions is just a compete rip-off.
  8. He's either stupid or he thinks the fanbase is stupid.
  9. Bolton had theirs on sale from 3rd Feb 2023....nearly two months prior to ours. So just because we are a bit less shit than last year doesn't make it good. It's a low bar that Waggott is happy to fall over and then claim a victory. Is he really basing projected season ticket sales on irregular match day offers or 5-match bundles. It's like comparing relative pricing for a weekend away in a B&B with the mortgage costs of buying a house. Plus most of those games were on TV.
  10. At the next FF why not call for his resignation on the basis he is pricing loyal fans out of watching their team?
  11. Best sales in 5 years, but thousands less than if he'd reduced them. But the data is telling him something different. What data? The data at PNE and Bolton than should tell him the opposite is true, and reduced prices means more sales. Or the data from Rovers that will tell him every time prices have been reduced substantially in the past sales have shot up. It's comforting to know they would have been the cheapest in the PL IF we'd gone up. Haha. I'm embarrassed for him if that's the best he can do.
  12. Some bloke on twitter (who is the GK coach at Charnock Richard, so he'd know 🙂 ) is saying TK has an agreement with Rovers that if someone pays £500k then he's off.
  13. It seems to be a theme that it doesn't matter what managers say, it's just standard flim-flam etc etc. I'd suggest it does matter because it distinguishes those of decent character from the 'not my fault, guv' crowd. Mowbray is definitely in the latter category. Who can forget at the end of Jan '22 when he said he didn't sign a target man because 'we don't play that way'. Fast forward 18 months:- "This team’s done extremely well considering the circumstances and the injuries we’ve had; instead of having a target man we’ve had to find ways of filling the box with midfielders or wingers and that can become difficult, ” he says. ‘Never too soon’: how Tony Mowbray made Sunderland playoff contenders | Sunderland | The Guardian I realise he's moved on and he's not coming back, and for that I am eternally grateful.
  14. They are ahead of target according to them. They expected to sell 6k by the end of the early bird but have sold 'closer' to 7k
  15. Has Jonson Clarke-Harris been mentioned?
  16. Kaminski might have asked to leave? Or he may be a waste of a wage if JDT thinks Pears is better? I suppose we'll find out as the summer progresses if there is any money to be spent.
  17. He went to Bristol City then left after a few months to return to Norway (?). He was going to be signed by JDT to allow Pears to go on loan in January, but I think the Pears deal fell through.
  18. I'd have stood a chance with a few of those. The most underwhelming highlights reel ever 😉
  19. I wasn't defending him, but as mistakes-to-goals ratio he's been no worse than TK. TK was throwing them in his own net before he was dropped. My other point was he hasn't won matches for us like TK did earlier in the season.
  20. Pears hasn't made a lot of mistakes recently, but he also doesn't make a lot of saves. He's just kind of there!
  21. My guess would be not...and no, I don't particularly rate Pears either.
  22. Maybe it's been known at the club for a while that TK wanted to leave and so that's why he's not been picked?
  23. Sharpe speculated a month or two ago that he thought one of the two would leave this summer as they both wanted to be No.1 With TK not getting a game, and Pears signing a long term deal, it suggests TK is off and pears is the new first choice. Could be wrong though...just putting 2+2 together.
