  1. What's that in Latin? It should be the new club motto.
  2. You wouldn't ask that if you had a better attitude.
  3. Sell-ons wouldn't be included in the price we paid for him. Mowbray said it was £6m we paid Forest.
  4. Less than 7000 on the back of the best season in a decade suggests something is not quite right about the product! I wonder what that could be?!
  5. JDT said he only knew 2 minutes from the end what the score was at PNE. I presume it only mattered to him after we went in front.
  6. Caused by exactly the same thing as last year...Rovers not being able to score and BBD clocking off at Christmas. The difference is we played well this season during the death spiral but had absolutely no luck in those games and were relying on Mowbray's players to score. Like I said, for anybody who cares to look there is clear progression.
  7. Harsh. I don't think the project talk from JDT is the same as the project talk from Mowbray. Under Mowbray nothing changed, it was the same season after season. Same excuses, same death spirals, same mistakes. There is clear progression under JDT for anyone who cares to look for it. Or at least a clear direction of travel, with a specific way of playing identifiable. You can definitely see what he is trying to do here, if you'll pardon the hoary old cliche. I never got that impression with Mowbray. This summer is pivotal. I've never been more hopeful in the last decade than I am now. However all that is predicated on JDT staying.
  8. Contract talks have started and he wants to stay Joe Rankin-Costello confirms Blackburn Rovers contract talks | Lancashire Telegraph Top player.
  9. Blackburn Rovers must give Jon Dahl Tomasson what he needs to fend off growing admirers - Elliott Jackson - LancsLive "I think the gaffer might be a genius," said one Blackburn Rovers player as early as October. Tomasson's methods have rubbed off on the players; the contrast in performances are night and day compared to seven months ago. A similar article to the one RS wrote. I think Jackson is a good writer and doesn't pull any punches. He also re-iterates the manager needs backing and that January can't be repeated, Lots of pressure being heaped on the clowns behind the scenes and rightly so.
  10. Basic questions are asked in pressers. It's hardly forensic. RS in contrast has, in a diplomatic way, just highlighted the problems at the club, and specifically the behind-the-scenes operation. He's made sure any casual reader knows where the problems are.
  11. Blackburn Rovers must give talented head coach & squad what they need | Lancashire Telegraph I put this in the transfer thread but it should have gone in here....good article, bizarre some people would see it as shit-stirring but there you go...Sharpe is just saying what most of us think...and he doesn't mention JDT leaving, just that he needs support.
  12. And you are welcome to that opinion, but if you're correct it will have nothing to do with him 'only; finishing 7th in the Championship, as recent PL managerial appointments have shown.
  13. You said it was based on recent results? Dyche didn't get sacked from Burnley because he was getting good results. Anyway, you've been given good examples by others of why your comment about Championship managers 'only' finishing 7th wouldn't get Prem jobs was a bit wide of the mark. To save you further embarrassment we'll leave it there.
  14. I'm sure they'll be linked with a few managers, that wasn't relevant to the point though.
  15. That must be why Lampard, Gracia, Dyche and Smith are all current or very recent PL managers.
  16. Leeds are apparently looking for a Bielsa-type to appease their fans. They hired Marsch (sp) for that very reason. JDT is seen as employing a similar style to Bielsa, and having a similar philosophy. Those similarities have been fairly obvious in the last few months as our passing game has improved. JDT's family also live in Holland so a move there might be on the cards if it isn't working out here due to personal reasons/missing family etc. I hope he doesn't leave but you can see why he'd be an attractive proposition to someone. Anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of the game can see we are just too much for the opposition when it all clicks together. With a forward line worthy of the name this season could have been a lot different.
  17. Ludicrous, and without context. You don't know how owners of Prem clubs, or people in football generally, view JDT. He may be viewed as an up-and-coming manager with the ability to manage at the highest level, just like those luminaries such as Gary O'Neil, or indeed any of the dross that has been sacked by Prem clubs this season.
  18. What position would he have to have finished to merit PL interest? You clearly think finishing 7th is in some way relevant.
  19. A bit of common sense at last. No guarantee he stays, but he's not going to talk about next season at a heart-breaking finale to this season. JDT doesn't give much away at the best of times. It was a question that was always going to get a non-committal answer.
  20. Why would he say that? He looks drained after a long season that ends in heartbreak....and he was asked about next season! The question got the non-answer it deserved.
  21. A club would have to approach him. If a Prem club approaches him I'm pretty sure he'll be off, just like any other manager in the Championship would be.
  22. Really. He says he doesn't want to speculate. We also don't know how him and Broughton are getting on. We also don't know if any other clubs are in for him. He also referenced his contract. He gave a good answer that tells us nothing,
