4 clean sheets out of the last 6 games showed Eustace can organise a team to defend well, and that’s with Pears and Hyam playing. So all is not lost in that regard. Eustace is at least competent. The quality of the football was dreadful though. We looked like a pub team. Compare that with some of the football we played under JDT and it was chalk and cheese. I fear it will be more of the same next season - solid at the back but pretty much unwatchable! I’m just hoping that it was the lack of attacking quality/options that made us play like that.

Pears up to this point has been generally very poor. It’s not just the huge blunders, it’s letting goals in that any half decent keeper would save. It’s ok making the odd eye-catching reaction save and tipping the ball over the bar. Most keepers in the pyramid can do that. What Pears gets consistently wrong is the basics.

To say Carter was a liability last season is a gross exaggeration.

Carter never played anywhere near as badly as Hyam at Bristol City. That’s probably the worst individual performance I’ve ever seen in a Rovers shirt. He was directly at fault for at least 3 of the goals.

Yep, you certainly wouldn’t want him in the trenches with you. He didn’t appear to have the strength of character needed to be captain. Compare with McFadz who looks to me like a proper leader.

Didn’t realise Hyam is out of contract next summer. Might be another that needs selling if he won’t sign a new one. He’d be no great loss based on his last 6 months. He’s also slower than McFadz.
