  1. There’s an article in the Guardian today on the Rovers women’s team and funding issues, if someone can link it in here.
  2. Doesn’t surprise me. He’s got a lot of potential. Newcastle were heavily linked a couple of seasons back.
  3. It’s just opinions really. DS could go on to be a top Championship defender. If the club agree they’ll sign him on that basis.
  4. If the idea is to get ‘assets’ into the club then Sanderson fits the bill. If they can get him for £1m and flog Hyam for £1m then it fits the ‘project’ as DS has bigger potential re-sale value. He’ll also be on less wage than Hyam.
  5. Currently we have: Hyam - is it 1 year left on his contract? Carter - 1 or 2 years left and made of glass Batth - out of contract Wharton - no idea if he’ll come back the same player. So there might be plenty of CB vacancies on a month or two if the likes of Hyam and Carter are sold and Batth goes elsewhere.
  6. He’s young with potential so £1m seems reasonable. He was apparently very good in the Championship at Brum under Eustace. But yeah we didn’t see enough of him to make an judgement either way.
  7. I thought Sandersons end of season interview was quite gushing about his time here, and the fact he said a couple of times that ‘who knows I might be back one day’. That explains it if we are interested in doing a deal and he wants to come. Probably a good investment at £1m
  8. You need to read it again. They made a clear distinction between automatic and play off promotion. I was talking about automatic, which they literally said wasn’t possible without parachute payments. Ipswich literally got promoted automatically without parachute payments. Hope that assuages your confusion.
  9. not that simple. In L1 owner investment counts as club income, which is why Brum were allowed to spend £20m on transfers last summer. That was also why Ipswich were allowed to spend big. Basically the owners put in as much money as they want and there’s no restriction. Think they changed it since Brum went on their spending spree so now the L1 rules are stricter about owner investment. It gets interesting now they’re in the championship as the 3 year rule applies….but does it apply retrospectively? Some finance experts say that the owner investment in L1 should not be counted as income, but others say that could be challenged. As for Ipswich they were only in the Championship for 1 season so they never fell foul of the rules.
  10. They said automatic promotion isn’t attainable for a club without parachute payments. Ipswich did it.
  11. How did Luton and Ipswich manage to go up if promotion isn’t attainable for a club ‘like ours’ without parachute payments?
  12. When you googled it would have also told you how to use the word in a sentence. It makes no sense how you’ve used it. Trying to be a smart arse about attendances didn’t quite work out for you.
  13. They’ll sell more than us, and some of them will be able to use the word panacea in the right context 😉
  14. They’d sold 14k season tickets before ours went on sale. Context is everything.
  15. There’ll be some Academy lads on the bench as part of Project re-boot version 9. Get behind the project FFS!
  16. Your 2nd paragraph proves you still don’t get it.
  17. There’s people on here don’t get it. They think we’re getting better squad players than Hedges. They ignore the fact Hedges has been a 1st teamer for years as a result of the lack of budget. Delusional.
  18. He’s been playing CB according to the article linked earlier. If he’s left footed then he fits the bill of what the club have said they want.
  19. I’d suggest reading my post again for the context. It wasn’t a difficult post to understand.
  20. Hedge and Forshaw are decent Championship squad players. Ismael will know his budget and will know how little there is to work with. Of course he wants them to stay, the alternatives could be much worse.
  21. Lots can happen between now and the transfer window shutting at the end of August. We could have sold Trav and Tron by then, and anyone else who’s contract is up in the next 12 months. There are no guarantees we’ll replace them if they do go. We don’t really know enough about the manager yet either to have any confidence he’ll do well next season.
