Nobody said it was controversial. But to be clear, was it not you saying a page or two back that the Hull fella was slow and might not suit the managers way of playing? Surely the same applies to an even slower Batth who you continue to eulogise over (probably because he isn’t here anymore). It’s almost like you always focus on the negatives in any given situation!

He did under a different manager last season. It’s a new manager with a new way of playing. The new manager might not have seen him as integral.

They didn’t, they said regardless of whether Batth stayed or went they wouldn’t replace him. They said they were only interested in a LCB.

They didn’t want a replacement for Batth as he’s a natural RCB. He only played LCB last season to allow Hyam to move over to the right. They wanted a LCB to compete with Wharton and it looks like we are getting one. Not sure there’s much to quibble about here, they are doing what they said they’d do. The only question when he signs is he any good!
