He’s had a poor start to the seaso, but he isn’t fit yet and has also played with an injury niggle. He suits the way JE wants to play though, as I don’t think he wants 2 out and out wingers in the same team. We need a quick winger so that Hedges and JRC can fight it out for the spot on the other side of the pitch.

Not sure if you’ve read it but there’s a good tactical analysis in Norwich thread about how we set up. @Exiled_Rover posted it iirc. It shows how deliberate the JRC moving inside thing is. JDT liked to put an extra body in midfield by putting a full back in there when we attacked ( also how Pep does it and a few others). JE does by making JRC go inside and having Brittain play pretty much as a winger. I think Duru also looks perfect for that role due to his pace.

But in a positive way. JE has final say on transfers, he’s unsure on Germaine, so he’s not yet given the OK as he thinks there might be better options. So now the recruitment team try to set up a deal for someone better. That's how it should work. Based on his YouTube’s I don’t think Germaine fits the bill of a winger. He looks like a CF. I’d sign him anyway, we’re only an injury or two away up front and we’re in crisis again. And then sign a lightening quick winger.

Looks like Eustace, as speculated, unsure on Germaine which is why it hadn’t gone ahead, even though it’s all agreed. Backs up what he said the other day that the players brought in have to be better than we’ve already got. Matando is an option but not imminent. Iversen unlikely, Ruddy unlikely, very little chance with Stansfield. Travis staying.

There’s a LT story on the court case if anyone wants to link it. It says they are still committed to funding (even though they clearly aren’t) Jackson also confirms the transfer budget for this summer is unaffected by the court case and has already been signed off. Club is pressing ahead with transfers.

£20m a year covering losses at Rovers for them is like me and thee losing a fiver. Which makes their refusal to pay the guarantee an act of self-sabotaging stupidity.

He tried to quit in summer ‘23 as I said. That is public knowledge. He didn’t because of contractual obligations and the fact Rovers wouldn’t release him.
