  1. I have to agree. Rugby League is an excruciating game. How St. Helen's triumphed over the Ryder Cup team is beyond me.
  2. Sorry Bryan. Just 'superior' then.
  3. I disagree. The level of skill and technique and the speed of the game now is utterly superior to anything from the 'good old days'. With the exception of Brazil's 1970 team, a lot of the stuff played in said footballing utopia was positively agrarian. Sure there were the outstanding individuals who could play on Turf Moor's swamp and still look like geniuses, but the level of today's players is surely much higher? Of course diving, cheating, whinging is going to turn people off. So too are the vast amounts of money these idiots are being paid. However, in terms of skill you have to say today's game is better than the rose-tinted bygone era.
  4. How much does you get generally in the summer to spend on new players?
  5. I'm winless in 7 games, having started like a freight train. I have an injury list that includes McCarthy (who's hardly played all year), Reid, Nonda, Bentley and Zurab. Gallagher hit a purple patch but has now gone back to his invisible self and Clint Dempsey is blowing hot and cold. The only player performing to his potential is Pedersen but even then he doesn't get enough goals. I'm having an absolute nightmare trying to get money from the board. I was inches away from signing Callum Davenport only for the club to refuse the extra £125K required.
  6. Henchoz off. This just isn't happening.
  7. When was the last time Steven Taylor scored?! Unacceptable.
  8. FOR **** SAKE! Horribly inevitable.
  9. It's great-though be prepared to see many squiggly renderings of the male organ. Apparently Spartan warriors did their killing in the nude... Anyway, it has numerous testosterone filled lines like: 'One hundred thousand nations of the Persian empire descend upon you! Our arrows will blot out the the sun!' 'Then we shall fight in the shade...' Great stuff.
  10. Well at least if Pedersen was set on fire a sense of urgency would be injected into his demeanour. Though that's probably taking it a bit far.
  11. Holy sweet JC.
  12. Clarke's a pretty big deal over and I don't see many people from NI voting for anyone except him. Personally I would go for Calzaghe.
  13. I'm sorry to say guys but I lost to Charlton on Football Manager last night. Just putting it out there.
  14. Maybe the top 50? It becomes more and more subjective as the list goes on. It's easy to name one's top 10-20 but thereafter is trickier. For the record: 1.Pele 2.Diego Maradona 3.George Best 4.Johann Cruyff 5.Zinedine Zidane 6.Ferenc Puskas 7.Franz Beckenbauer 8.Alfredo DiStefano 9.Franco Baresi 10.Zico
  15. Benni should have a grand time against a struggling Charlton side. 2-1 Rovers.
  16. I had to settle for Carlos Bocanegra.
  17. Going to see The Roots at QUB Students Union on the 18th. Can't bloody wait.
  18. Another question: How do you get a list of all players available for loan/out of contract/soon to be out of contract? I'm trying to find a new left-back and it's murder.
  19. How do you sort out the squad numbers?
  20. Finally! Three very welcome points.
