  1. So can we not sing songs about inbreds? Or songs about someone who may please themself sexually?? We were singing that Norwich song about Burnley in the Fox prior to the cup game last year, as well as many others that were far worse. There IS a line between what is acceptable and not which has seen the disappearance of the "spurs are on their way to Aushwitz" and monkey chants etc that blighted our terraces not all that long ago, but because he broke his leg??? No I don't get it. I got the train back from the Liverpool home game last season and listened to a group of 40 scousers who sang constantly about Shipman, Munich and far worse than about a player who broke his leg.
  2. Listened in on Radio Lancs and we created a number of chances and I have waited a long time for this result after a number of dreadful decisions there in the past. And 16/1 on mgp and a quid on the double with 2.1 pays 250/1. Happy Days! Think I will even be in work early on Monday ready for all those plastic mancs
  3. We can use our EU rebate to help pay for it too - Thanks Mr Chirac!!
  4. The point is (and I still don't think Souness gets this) is that he is paid around £2m per annum to deal with primmadonnas and egos and manage them approprately.
  5. Thought I would add this: http://www.football365.com/news/premiershi...ry_152659.shtml Graeme Souness has denied that he has a history of falling out with his footballers - insisting he has ONLY fallen out with five players. In a bizarre interview with local newspaper the Newcastle Evening Chronicle in which he answered Toon fans' questions, Souness defended his disciplinary record with a repetitive outburst. He said: "Who are these players I have supposed to have fallen out with? Andy Cole? I rest my case. David Dunn? I rest my case. Craig Bellamy? I rest my case. Andy Todd? I rest my case. Dwight Yorke? We only fell out once at one training session. "Don't forget I have managed hundreds of players in my 19 years as a manager. So I have fallen out with five of them? I rest my case."
  6. Talking about this last night and gutted we won't have this extra "free" money floating around this summer. It is really difficult to believe he suffered any of this "wear and tear" in the blue and white halves whilst stood around on the pitch doing nowt though.
  7. Sorry, have to add this Souness is believed to want to change the club motto to improve team spirit at the club along the lines of the great musketeers All 4 - 1 and won flip all
  8. We discussed this at length on saturday and Wales have a pool of 90 registered footballers, which feeds the National team, possibly a B squad, an under 21 squad. So after listening to his many critisism for the last few years 7 players have chosen to retire as soon as he has taken over. What he doesn't get is that in a country with so few professional players the last thing you do is fall out with them and you make every use of every last resource. IF Savage is a disruptive influence (Hughes has obviously never thought so) then surely he should have a look at first hand. Not phone him to say - I'm playing this young lad from West Ham who has never played a first team game and your dropped. Then bemoan the loss of established players capable of performing in that role. The bloke is an idiot - top and bottom and won't last as a national manager particularly if he carries on the way he has started.
  9. I'm gutted because I am on a stag do that weekend and was planning on flying home early on the Sunday but I will not be able to land in Bristol and get to Cardiff for 12. we had plans ready to book for 3 or 5:15 and fly back to Majorca but now there is no point. If it was the Sunday I could have come home a day early. Gutted - never seen the boys in a FA semi before but they have Sky in Majorca so a few cold San Miguels will have to make up for it!
  10. confirmed as 12:15 kick off on Saturday 16th. Ticket prices to follow.
  11. I think thats a fair quote Jim - the other game being a draw!
  12. Who put the ball in the dingles net? Who put the ball in the dingles net? Who put the ball in the dingles net? Super MGP did Super MGP Super MGP Super Morten Gamst Pendersen Magic goal from Morten and he is starting to look a real prospect - there were a lot of calls for him to start up front, especially as he looks the only real finisher we have. I think he is so much better coming on to the ball and he knows how to cross a ball with pace. To think souness only stumped up the cash once he had seen 45 minutes of the fat spaniard!
  13. I asked at the time if it was the same idiot - he had the same flag raised above the head pose and gormless expression. Have to say the naked breakdancer was pretty much the highlight of the day., but the 5 months wasn't harsh enough - I'll bet if you assaulted 2 policemen like that in the street you would be looking at a lot more than 5 months.

  15. Do they think we're daft????? http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=136423 Yeah right - week before we play them!
  16. Just got my 4 - no queue on the phone I got straight through. BRING IT ON!
  17. I think you have to repect that John Williams had his hand tied by this but £4.5 rising to £5m isn't that bad. If Barry made it clear he would be unhappy and not giving his all then we have saved over £1/2m in wages until the end of the season (16 weeks at £35k). There was no real room to negotiate once the spineless one had decided that it was Rangers and only Rangers that he wanted to go. I would be far more excited being a Celt and signing Bellamy than Ferguson, in fact I might even be more upset swapping Barry for Arteta.
  18. I was really encouraged by the signing when we got him but it took nearly a dozen games before he started to look useful and then spent ages injured. As he has come back this season he has looked Ordinary, tidy on the ball but no drive, no presence and unable to boss a Premiership midfield. All in all, his best pass at Blackburn has been his Rangers medical - theres the door Barry - don't let it hit your arse on the way out!
  19. Transfer request granted providing Rangers pay our valuation of at least £6m. Bad news given there are only 4 days left until the window closes
  20. What we need now is a bid from Martin O'Neill of £5m to make Rangers stump up the cash and force Rangers hands - the point made about their fans holding influence is very valid as they WILL now be disappointed if he doesn't sign. For me anything less than £5m is a disgrace and I would make him stay until at least the summer. Relegation, although now looking less likely, would cost us at least £20m. I do think Ferguson was starting to turn into a decent Premiership player and would have hoped he had seen the same difference in the team that we have and felt more encouraged to stay, but if he really wants the highlights of the SPL then he is welcome to it providing we get our cash!!
  21. There is no fairer way to distribute the tickets than (especially for a derby game) than to Season Ticket holders who go away (proof of two games) Season Ticket Holders Non St fans who go away (again with proof) General Sale All clubs do this but what does annoy people is when the BIG games come along they don't get tickets but at least this way it rewards the regulars. And yes, I would say that as I got mine this morning And AndyT - the atmosphere will be everywhere, it always is when we win!
  22. Am hoping for 3 points and a 2-0 victory but Fulham are an inconsistant side and will be looking to Cole for a big game. Interesting report on the ref: http://www.fulhamweb.com/fulhamweb/news/re...article_id=3954 So thats no penalties for us on Saturday, and one for Boa Morte 2-1 Rovers Dickov Ferguson Malbranque (Pen)
  23. This is also quite a good site for football records etc, and this table shows the info in a slighly different order http://www.the-english-football-archive.co...lub_records.htm
  24. As I understand it from speaking to some lads at the end of last season the Blackburn Police had taken some stick from the judges because the banning orders they were seeking were not down to concrete evidence but tenuous links (Mr x was seen out drinking in the Aquaduct with Mr Y - a known hooligan) the judge critisised this during the court case and they were thrown out. I know some hooligans and one or two of the names in that article but I'm not a hooligan but if talking to these people (who are far from the gap toothed brainless bumpkins people on here are insisting they are) means I am due a banning order then that is not justice - nor effective policing. No-one wants a return to the 70s style violence and thankfully mobile phones now mean gangs can meet up well away from ground and beat each other senseless leaving the rest of to enjoy our beer in peace.
  25. Are these not the result of the trouble in the Postal Order after the ManU game last season? These banning order are largely pointless, they banned a load of PNE hooligans but even the Evening Post noted the fact that these lads didn't go on the games just drank in the nearby pubs and then waited for the away fans. The court banned them from the ground but not the surrounding area so they could carry on doing exactly the same as before.
