  1. I think about the same could be said about Love Guru too. I was a bit put off by the critics but finally went to see it last friday and did not regret. It's pretty much the same stuff as the Wayne's Worlds and the Austins. The story isn't perhaps quite as strong this time, but the laughs are still there. So if you liked his previous films I'd think you'd like this one as well. Maybe take the few beers before hands too to make sure, especially if you're not in to hockey or gurus or such "If Jack would help you off the elephant, would you help Jack off the elephant" Enough said.

  3. Here's my predictions. For some reason I believe/hope that Fulham goes down. It seems that the Egyptian has lost interest and I've not felt very confident of Colemans management skills. 1. Chelsea 2. ManU 3. Arse 4. Liverpool 5. Spurs 6. Boro 7. Blackburn 8. Newcastle 9. Aston Villa 10. Birmingham 11. Everton 12. Man City 13. Bolton 14. Charlton 15. Portsmouth 16. West Ham 17. West Brom 18. Fulham 19. Wigan 20. Sunderland
  4. I give my vote to this, it's been one of my favorites for a while now. Electrifying to say the least Teenage Fanclub's Sparky's Dream and Hard Fi's Hard To Beat could both be somewhat suitable too. If we would play Benny Hill for the opponents, I'm sure against Bolton it would be Brendan Benson's Spit It Out and the Matlock theme.
  5. Maybe not a mousemat, but I could be interested of that DVD. Shyte music and nine goals by Paul Dickov. Sounds like good friday night entertainment already If someone wants to part with his/hers copy of that DVD or just make a copy of it send me PM or something. Cheers
  6. Yeah, just typical Finland. Our mens team have also lost two recent games in the closing minutes. But I agree about the game. It was surprisingly exciting. I Haven't watched womens football before so I had no expectations, but it was mostly proper good open football. Looks like I have to watch the rest of Finland's heroic defeats in the tournament too.
  7. Personally I don't take the slagging off in the press that seriously, but here's someone to back up The Rovers' style of play for a change, Gordon Strachan that is: http://football.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/...1466119,00.html
  8. As Rovers have recently won Saints and Norwich pretty confidently, I'd expect the same against the Palace lot. 3-1, with Riihilahti scoring a late consolation for them. Personally, I'd still give Thompson this last chance saloon. He has played a lot better against the smaller clubs than he has in big games against the likes of Arse and Chelski. Put him in for the first half. If he is shyte again then get Emerton in from the bench. I reckon Brett has also been a lot better when he has come in as a sub in comparison to his performances during most of the season while he was the first choice player in his position. C'mon Rovers
  9. They possibly could have but I wouldn't say they should have. I reckon they played back then in the same qualification group with Finland? They sure worked well as a defensive unit but I really didn't see them as an attacking threat. Against us they created about three chances in two games. They scored from all of those, yes, but against better sides like the Ruskies you can't count on such finishing rate, unless you are a Greek I think Hughes did good job with them anyway. Hopefully he just finds some more attacking solutions now when he is with Rovers.
  10. Aye, that's a classic My choice could be Saint Etienne's You're in a Bad Way. Everything 90's are soon in again, and what could be more 90's than Blackburn Rovers and Saint Etienne?
  11. Not the best of games but at least it was nice to see Rovers to go through. Personally I would have fancied to see an other goal as well, for that penalty looked a bit fifty-fifty decision to me. Probably to the ref too becouse he didn't call it straight away. Then again, I don't think there's a whole lot of moaning for the Leicester fans for there weren't really no chances for them at all and a handfull of close ones for us besides that one. Furthermorely, I think everyone played overall pretty well but there just wasn't much of creativity in the air. One notable point was that Emerton looked a bit hungry and eager again for a change when he came in from the bench. Hopefully this is a sign that he is going to get a bit of something in to his game from here on, for he is a good player but hasn't really played up to his standard in a couple of games I've seen lately. I'm also still a fan of Thompson for all his enthusiasm and go for it attitude. Sometimes he just don't cut it but usually he gets in at least two or one good chances a game. Flitcroft looked a bit invisible, but I guess that was his role?
  12. Don't know much about the Norwegian PL, but the Finnish players who are there are hardly international super talents so I think I have a right to have a slight doubt about the overall quality of the league Btw Enckelman played 45 mins and let in one own goal In the end we won 2-1.
  13. And there's more Rovers in Mediterranean tonight. Encks is going start in our game against Cyprus. However, we are playing seriously weakened team, starting with strikers who play in Lyn (Norway) and Vaduz(Liechtenstein,Swiss 2nd division ) so not very glamorous but at least Encks is gonna have a little action for change.
  14. I also noticed that one. Reid would have been one on one against Cech if Dickov would have passed it but he probably just decided to try and shoot it as hard as he can and hope that Cech is going spit it out to Reidy. Or then he just didn't see Steves movement... Anyways I think that Dickov had a great game all in all and I doubt that any other of the strikers could have made such impact. Savage and Nelsen were the others that really stood out. I didn't notice whether Savage was a captain but he surely played like he would have been. A huge difference to a certain Glaswegian! One of the most telling moment was when he took Mokoena out of that argument that he was trying to have with Rennie. Less nagging and more football it is.. I also think that this formation can become a winner against the other top sides. It really wasn't that far that something would have happened. It is just that Thompson and Emerton should have provided more in to it. If Thompson would have had one of his better days I could have seen us scoring a few. And unless Thompson isn't going to find a bit of consistency in his game I'd like to see Reid or even Jansen tried at his position. I think that Jansen's strength in passing and creativity could be just what is needed to fill that position. But yeah in the end, I enjoyed the game and hope to see more of the team. There's some certain class in there and I'm sure they're just gonna get better if Hughes stays at helm.
  15. I just hope Rovers would look like a proper football team tonight. At Chelsea they didn't. Everything else gained from the game would come as a bonus. What comes to tactics, I'd perhaps also try to tough them out (especially Duff,Robben and Drogba) and try to use the pace of Jemal Johnson. I haven't yet seen much of Jemal but his pace could be one of the things we could have a very slight adventage against them. He could also bring in a bit of a surprise factor.
  16. I think he hasn't been quite so gracious about Birmingham when he has been talking with Finnish press;) Like he is obviously happy that Stevie has given him a chance to play first team football but he has also at times complained about the negative style of football and the lack of quality passing up front. There's also been the feelin' that he is keen to take the step forward and get to play in a truly top class team. So I think if he isn't going to fit in Chelsea, his top priority is to get in to other top 6 team. If that isn't going to happen either and there's no great prospects from Italy or Spain, I believe Birmingham is an option, but I have the feeling he would be a bit dissapointed if he would have to start an other season at St. Andrews. And that is by all respects;) What comes to Robbie Savage, I think he would probably make our team stronger. Then again he doesn't always make it easy to like him with all the nonsense and contract breaking stuff, so I don't really know what to think about him but if Hughes wants him I guess I gotta trust his instincts for he seems to know the guy and all.
  17. Hmm, back here they usually stop the whole game until the decision can be made(?). But anywhich way, I still think that it could be just healthy to leave out the videos and just add the goal refs. In the end it wouldn't hurt too much to leave a little space for chance;) Btw, I also found Sir Alex's comments to be quite reasonable (for change!).
  18. Probably the easiest way to solve this thing would be to introduce a goal ref, like they have in ice-hockey, by just sitting in one guy behind both goals to check for goal line and other stuff that go on inside the box(i.e. handballs and dives etc..). They would notice the most blatant stuff that go on and the rest could go as 'human errors'. At least that goal yesterday would have been seen. The videos would be unnecessary and too slow considering the nature of sport.
  19. I think it was quite enjoyable game afterall and just showed that we should be up there competing from positions 4 to 10, not to be in a relegation struggle (or then Charlton, Aston Villa and Everton should be there as well...). If we just could add a consistent striker in our team.... I was also glad to see Thompson in the starting line-up. He was a spark and showed some invention. I think Hughes should play him in centre midfield against Cardiff, as Ferguson could use some rest (and even competition...). Morten should probably also be given a run as if a class team like Marseille is after him he can't be totally pants.
  20. It's going to be a tough one. Both teams have been a little short of goals recently so I predict a 1-1 draw, unless Ferguson and Reid start to hit the mark with their shots. Both of them hit it hard and would be a threat if they just get there a little more accuracy.
  21. I'm going to put in a bet for us to win so it's better going to happen;) The other fixtures in my bet are home wins for Spurs and Boro, so it should be easy money then? Rog Of The Rovers chose the squad pretty well. I'm just hoping that Thompson is ready to start if Reid is out, for he seems to be the man who can make some difference.
