I was pleased when we signed him on loan, my impression was that he’d looked good at Hudds. He did nothing for us, I thought he was a real disappointment. Then I was out at a social event and got talking about football to a guy who’s best mate has a son who was/is on the fringes of our first team ( no names ). He told me Thomas was a Billy Big Bollocks who thought he’d really made it and was getting on everybody’s nerves at Rovers.

Even in the Leicester game where he made a great save to keep us in the game and he stood up strong when Carter put Jamie Vardy in with that stupid back header he palmed a very average shot right back into the danger area in the first half. Luckily for us there wasn’t a Leicester player in the centre forward spot to take advantage. That goes in and that game could have ended differently.

Dead right. He’s not worth £2.50p. What a waste of space he was when he was here on loan. He couldn’t even land a corner and he was supposed to be good at that. It’d make the money we spent on Wahlstadt look a bargain.

The other time that we’ve had a wave of optimism was in the immediate aftermath of our last promotion. Things appeared to be on the up after years of decline. Then you had the manager pouring cold water on the prospect of a few exciting new signings by saying we didn’t need them. Just a few bench filling bodies brought in to back up existing squad. Cue the sound of enthusiasm being extinguished.

They’ll all stand to lose their jobs one day with the Chicken Chokers running the show. It’s just a matter of time. I’d have baled out years ago if I worked there. The writing is on the wall, if the current employees don’t want to read it - that’s down to them.

Give me their cheque book and I could do the same. Want a centre half for the future ? Just sign Gvardivol, the best young centre half coming through. Want a goalscorer ? Just sign Haaland, a goal machine. It’s piss easy.

That’s how I see it, we’re Venkies Rovers at the moment. Normal service with games against the real Blackburn Rovers will be resumed at some point in the future.

It looks more like Palace made us an offer and we snatched their hand off to me.
