  1. Thanks Tony, I missed the game but it doesn’t sound like I missed much.
  2. Bottom of League 2 Scunthorpe to be exact.
  3. I’d say Von Hecke is the best footballer of the three. I’d be giving it a go in a full scale training match. You never know it might work, if it doesn’t what have you lost ?
  4. Liverpool and City don’t play like that, Tony thinks we should, what with all the attacking talent we have.
  5. He might be shite but unless you try it out on the training pitch you’ll never find out. “ SuperMac “ Malcolm Macdonald was a left back until they gave him a go up front, as was Fred Pickering.
  6. Would it be worth giving Van Hecke a go up front ? At least he’ll get stuck in and he can head the ball. Do they try these things in trainimg.
  7. I think he only touched the ball once and got a season finishing injury.
  8. He spent all last season pissing about with the tippy tappy stuff. He didn’t have a plan B then either.
  9. You mean we’ve had half a great season.
  10. I was watching Hudds the other night, they worked a great move off their first corner and scored from it.
  11. Because the voices in Mowbray’s head keep telling him that’s how Mo Salah plays.
  12. Do you remember Maurice Fussey ? Tall, lanky guy. His party trick was to sprint backwards from the edge of the penalty area to the half way line after giving a goal kick so he was always facing the ball. I remember him bringing the players off 15 minutes early at Bolton. Everybody was stood about looking at their watches or that big clock over the main stand before starting to leave the ground. Then after about 7 or 8 minutes the players came back out drying their hair and their kit back on to play out the rest of the game.
  13. I think players played carrying knocks in the old days. They don’t do that as much today.
  14. You’d have to live over here to know what it’s like with United fans. Even when they’re having a bad run their arrogance knows no bounds. Thankfully City becoming top dog has put them back in their box to a certain extent. Being honest, for most of the last fifty years Utd have been higher up the food chain than Burnley or Rovers so it’s extra good to beat a top side. As they were under Fergie. That was my rationale. No doubt if I lived in Great Harwood I’d feel differently. Incidentally I was there on that Boxing Day when Burnley beat the red rats 6-1. Fortunately I missed the return fixture at Old Trafford as I was at Ewood watching Rovers lose 3-1 to West Ham.
  15. If you could have one of those players to play in todays team who would it be ?
  16. Looks like he’s waiting for the clocks to go forward.
  17. Back row - Hird, Martin, Waddington, Jones, Hawkins, Kenyon, Burgin. Second row - Wood, Fazackerley, Oates, Beamish, Hickman, Parkes. Seated - Hoy, Metcalfe, Heaton, Hilton, Mullen, Wilkinson.
  18. Whoever sorted out the players names along the bottom must have been on drugs.
  19. Living over here if it’s a toss up between beating Burnley or United I’d always go for beating the Red Rats.
  20. I remember him playing left back for Villa on an icy Ewood pitch, it was really difficult to turn around and Fergie gave him a chasing.
  21. I never saw Dougie do a “ step over “ , he didn’t need to.
