  1. I wouldn't even have him on loan, surely we can do better than him ?
  2. His legs have gone, get over it. Certain players can play on when they hit the wall because they have other strings to their bow. He relied on mobility, now that's gone he's just a passenger.
  3. Jim- if he's got pace I'll get my boots down out of the loft.
  4. £16k a week ! ! The world's gone mad.
  5. How many positions do you think he can play in then ? He can't play out wide or up front because he's not quick enough. He wasn't quick enough when he was here in the first place that's why we let him go. He may be great in goal but I can't see him playing in any other position other than the one he plays for Preston. A play maker. We'd need to regrass the centre circle because he'd wear it out. If he wasn't a Blackburn lad we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Leave well alone.
  6. Not for me. We'll have enough players at the Club who only have 60 minutes in them without signing another one. His best years are over.
  7. Grealish has played at top level so he's going to be rated higher than Dack. Grealish is quicker but Dack is stronger. Both have " life style issues ".
  8. I'd say Smallwood was good for a big chunk of the season then went off the boil. Which version will we get next season ? Chapman looked to be a good player in the making but he got injured and at the end of the day he was a loan player. Armstrong blew a bit hot and cold, again he looks a decent player in the making but he's another loan player. Downing was a fairly good signing especially when you consider he was on a free. Bell ? Who knows ? He's obviously rated highly by other people but I think it's fair to say he hasn't exactly set Ewood Park alight yet. Dack was the one signing were you could say we really got a bargain there. If Grealish is worth the sort of dosh Villa are talking about Dack must be up around the £7.5 million mark. Players of that style, the David Dunn type, are the worst to play against. The ones that can carry the ball from the halfway line to the penalty area in centre field and then makes things happen are worth their weight in gold.
  9. Dack was the one shining successful signing last year out of how many signings ? One or two others were decent signings. We'll need to do better than that next time.
  10. Caddis and Whittingham got two years , I don't know what Gladwin got but considering his contribution he did really well whatever it was.
  11. That's always going to be the case. The flops don't contribute much because they are flops. Whittingham, Gladwin and Caddiis were all bought in on good contracts with a view to having an impact in the first team. They didn't.
  12. Yeah let Leeds sort out their own dropped bollock,
  13. What you saw in the second half of the season was the reality of the situation. He lacks the basic footballing requirements of a striker like pace, and aggression. He scored several goals cutting in from out on the left without ever looking like 1) a winger, 2) a central striker. Let's see what he does next season with Leeds. I'll bet a pound to a penny that he doesn't start in the two games against Rovers.
  14. I'll wait and see who comes in and who goes out before I make predictions.
  15. Antonnson was poor throughout his stay at Ewood. Only the goals he scored in the half of the season papered over his lack of contributions to general play. Once the goals dried up he had nothing to offer. I wouldn't have him back on a free. If you don't shine at this level you won't do any better playing at a higher level.
  16. He looked to be in a different class at Oldham Stuart. We couldn't get near him.
  17. He can only be coming as back up. I'm hoping Raya will really make a name for himself next season.
  18. That wish list added up to £6.5 million. I'd be amazed if we have half of that to spend half.
  19. Do you seriously think we've got that sort of money to spend ?
  20. That Jones guy we had on loan. We've had a few pretenders for the role since then though.
  21. I'd say the current squad would spend the season in the bottom third of the league. That's not exactly where we want to be. Two key players in Graham and Mulgrew will be a year older at an age were you don't want to get any older. We need to reinforce the team significantly.
  22. I was thinking of being fickle but after 56 years I just couldn't be bothered.
  23. OK , I'll come clean. I'm Eden Hazards agent, if only I can get rid of Craig Conway at Blackburn I could move him in there.
  24. I was thinking more of the word " DIE " under the " Venky's.
  25. I trust Mowbray to behave in an ethical and honest fashion. I think he's proven that in the short time he's been at the club. Having said that he's just like the rest of us, he's not infallible. He'll make mistakes, every manager makes mistakes. I reserve the right to criticise Mowbray when he does.
