  14. Err, right support ? That's we're it'll fall down then.
  15. Sincere thanks for taking the time to write that Paul. If I'd have read that before the Tour De France I would have understood a lot more than I did. I love watching the TGF, as a spectacle it's hard to beat, but the actual racing strategies have left me scratching my head. As for the races in the velodrome, WTF are they all about.
  16. How did a group of people riding bikes become such a complicated sport/event ? I know nothing about cycling but what I've seen so far doesn't make me want take any further interest in the event.
  17. Sad news indeed. A player from the time when we were poor but happy.
  18. I've been meaning to add a follow up to my earlier post above but the events of this week have left me very low. A pal of mine was a big Albert Hammond fan and he persuaded me to go to the gig. I thought it's not really my cup of tea. Well what a great gig and a great performer, He ran through his songwriting catalogue, very bravely starting out with " Little Arrows " and then "Gimme that Ding ", from then on it was upwards all the way. It was truly amazing to find out the number and range of songs he had written. " The air that I breathe ", "Private dancer", " One moment in time " were all his along with loads more I've forgotten. If you get the chance go and see him , you'll have a great night.
  19. Going to see Albert Hammond at The Band On The Wall in Manchester tomorrow. " It never rains in Southern California ", " Free electric band " ring any bells.
  20. If you're looking for a good Asian restaurant in central Manchester as opposed to Rusholme try " Zook or Zouk " just off Oxford Rd by the Palace Hotel. It's the place that Ballotelli goes to. I've been a few times and it's great. I've had the " Zook Special Fish Curry " every time , it's brilliant.
  21. Well what a great gig. Superb band on top form and a brilliant little venue. Add that to a Rovers win and I've got a thick head this morning. The only drawback was I went with a pal who had to catch the Leeds train home. Manchester, International class city, and on Saturday night the last train to Leeds is 22.54 ! During the week it's something like 23.20. Why is the last train later midweek that on Saturday night ? It meant we missed the last couple of numbers but it was still a great gig. I've seen plenty of the top guitarists over the years but this guy is as good as any of them.
  22. I got myself a great tee shirt yesterday. It's a drawing of a referee in dark glasses with a guide dog, the ref's holding up a red card. The guide dog is saying " Are you blind ref ? ".
