  1. i sypathise with fergie. i wouldnt be happy if it was bellers being risked. i expect the meeting between england doctor and man utd medical staff to be 'explosive.' now with my english head on, he trained this morning.... woo hoo! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,27-2212780,00.html
  2. you cant compare players recovery times. varying builds of the athletes and general fitness etc.. mean that recovery times can vary.
  3. that's pretty good for them. had a conversation with a burnley fan this wkend. he's 51 years old and has had a juvenile season tkt for the past NINE seasons! yes... yes... we can blame the administration- but it amuses me that burnley fan's are prepared to shaft their own club, to save a few sheckles!
  4. bellamy's pay rise doesnt concern me. he's more deserving, of 60K per week, than mr cole was.
  5. 94 world cup. he scored a screamer, against greece.
  6. i'm able to divorce the cheating and controversies and appreciate maradona's ability. for me, he's the best player there has ever been. he had everything. genius.
  7. @#/? is 1 of my favourite slang words. very under-used, lets hear more of it!
  8. agreed. also, owen hargreaves has to start. he's the greatest! as for ian wright, football is about opinions. he's employed as a pundit- to give 'his' views. that's all he's doing (people will agree/ disagree). as for bringing in things from his private life, they have nothing to do with his punditry and should be left separate.
  9. Dickov signs for city! http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=39...+signs+for+City
  10. have you not seen BC smashing one in, on the carslberg advert ?
  11. reid vastly improved over the last couple of months of the season. i say-"keep bigging him up, it'll add a new 0's to his fee." to compare reid to bobby charlton is laughable (on every level of the debate). sir bobby charlton is still massively better than reid and he's 69 years old! sir bobby had a pretty decent career :- http://www.manutdzone.com/legends/BobbyCharlton.htm
  12. that stinks. football is getting more and more bent! poll is chelsea fan and he refs most of their big games! i remember him reffing us down at stamford bridge and failing to give us 2 cast iron penalties. refs have 'cart blance' to use incompetance to mask corruption!
  13. is GS gonna sign martin andresen again ?
  14. duff & dunn were almost on their way out. dunny def asked for a transfer and i heard duff did (whilst not getting a look-in under parkes! ). jansen always had a lot of talent, but was very much a head-down merchant- who'd never pass (and was often sub - until christmas 2000). souey and his staff deserve credit for moulding jansen into the player he became.
  15. and make sure none of them turn up drunk @ training!
  16. i've been watching his punditary on sky. every compliment he gives- is a 'back-handed' 1. fun and games next season.
  17. i think he took over a rovers team, that was much worse than palace's. although time, 2 bad seasons and him jumping ship to join newc, may have altered some fan's perspectives, he did a good job at rovers and in hindsight shouldve quit after guiding us to 6th. he'll do a good job @ palace and i expect him to get them promoted, but i wonder how long it'll be until he buys his 1st rangers player!
  18. wont help much. especially as the 'new trend' seems to involve -the ref/ linesman covering their mouths, so tv/ crowd cant tell what theyre saying. their voices will be too muffled and they wont be heard over the crowd!
  19. i miss hearing gerald hoola-hoops proununciation of "UEFA CUP.." it always sounded like something else! sweary mary!
  20. am i alone in thinking he's chose to stay at arsenal, because there's less pressure and expectations placed on his shoulders- than there would be at barca ? (from his world-class teamates, massive fanbase etc....) after-all he's shown he doesnt react well to pressures that big tournaments and finals bring. staying at arsenal was certainly the easiest option.
  21. dickov knows his limitations and plays to the best of his abilities. you can doubt his technical abilty and and finishing, but not his commitment. i think he'll regret his decison, but maybe he'd rather have a bit more money- than play for a top 6 side ? i thank him for his service, but find it hard to wish him all the best... afterall he's going to citeh. with all the people slagging him, i'm left wondering.... if he was hated so much, how has "there's only 1 paul dickov" been ringing round the grounds we've been playing at , for the last 2 seasons?
  22. i think demand will exceed supply @ the interlink. in recent years rovers have had 'large' followings in pre season games and , particularly if playing NW sides, there are often more rovers fans than home supporters. i went to grimsby last pre-season and was shocked to see rovers had a large following. those i spoke to werent that happy, as it was mostly a reserve side (same applied @ morc).
  23. just got an email on this very subject- made me smile. Subject: Question of the Week SKY'S Richard Keys' question to Paul Merson, after Arsenals Champions League final defeat: "Paul, if you were a betting man would you put money on Henry staying at Arsenal?" Cue a distant look in Merson's eyes....
