  1. United had almost their strongest team out there today and apart from the O'Shea/Saha substitution, they all stayed out there for the 90 minutes. Let's hope there are a few tired legs out there on Wednesday. One Trick will be back from his ban but I'm sure RFW will put a few of his big names on the bench and give others a run from the start. Here's hoping. Go Rovers!!!
  2. Latest team news: Todd has a bug but is hopeful he'll be fit. Matteo a doubt with ankle injury. Bentley and Bellamy serving 1 match bans.
  3. His birth was registered in the district of Harrow, his family home though is in Newbury.
  4. The jokes we couldve had with Theodore... Unfortunately not though.... born in Harrow in March 1989, named Theo James Walcott. How boring!!!
  5. Dannsy has scored again tonight. Must be still buzzing from the birth of his first kiddie. Do we have a sell-on fee on him?
  6. Nice to see that the FA are sticking to their rules of not upsetting the Moan Utd applecart!!! Fergie and Rooney NOT to be charged following their comments about Steve Bennett's performance on Saturday. Did anyone else see this coming??? http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=35...nel=premiership
  7. I see Danns scored again at the weekend. He's turning into a cult hero at Colchester. Have just seen this on SportingLife... who remember's Oumar Konde??? http://www.sportinglife.com/football/scott...an&PREV_SEASON=
  8. Before anyone jumps all over this comment... I wonder if Matty would've celebrated if he had scored.
  9. I've never celebrated a Fulham goal before... you bet I did this time!!!
  10. Bolton are spoiling this game!!! I know they are down to 10 men though. Emerton off (hoorah) and Kuqi on!! Go Shefki!!! I cant believe Vaz Te just missed that chance. A let off there for Rovers. Dickov off and Bellamy on.
  11. 0-0 at half-time Bolton down to 10 men with Nakata getting two bookings. Two other bookings for Bolton. Only Reid booked for Rovers... for diving apparently!!!
  12. Looks like Pearce has decided not to offer that career lifeline!!! http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=35...nel=premiership
  13. It is about time we pick up 3 points without playing well. In previous matches against Everton and Fulham (a) for example we've had a lot of chances but haven't taken them and gone on to lose the match. Yes Redknapp will be unhappy at not getting anything out of the game, yes the drive home for Pompey fans will be full of "what if" comments but at the end of the day, our boyz have walked away with the points and I for one am happy at that. I hope that the 2nd half of the season will be just as productive for Rovers as this 1st half has been. Go Rovers!!! p.s. for those that didn't know, Gray has flu hence the change at left back. I don't know who was more nervous, Matteo or me!!!
  14. I'm not a fan of Emerton's and despite yesterday's great cross for Kuqi's first; I'm still to be convinced. How Boro weren't awarded a penalty after Emo's clumsy challenge in the first half is a mystery to all but Uriah Rennie. Emo has failed to deliver a decent performance on far too many occasions and I think that Sparky should reward Thommo with a new contract and have him as our 1st choice right winger. I hope I'm made to eat my words about Emerton but after two and half years of his lacklustre performances, I'm not choking yet. Go Rovers!!
  15. "Rovers have decided not to appeal against the red card given to Andy Todd during Saturday's match against Everton. He'll serve a 1 match ban vs. West Ham on Saturday."

  18. Neill gone to CB and Reid drops to RB. Presumably Thommo has come into the centre and Bentley drops to right wing. I cant see us coming back from this but hope I'll be eating humble pie at the end of the match. Come on Rovers!!! 2nd half edit: Zurab on for Thommo.
  19. Why is Mark Halsey the ref for this game...it's supposed to be Mark Clattenberg. Tony Cottee was saying on Sky that it's been all Blackburn since the sending-off. Typical then that we go 2-0 down. I was at Charlton to see the comeback on Wednesday but it's going to be near impossible being down to 10 men too. I said Zurab should start ahead of Todd. Nelsen should get the captaincy with Zurab as his CB partner. I could swear right now!!!!
  20. Wont the quarter final match in the Carling Cup happen in December? That may put one of these fixtures out.
  21. I dont get to go to many Rovers games in a season but I was so glad that I made the journey to this game. Arguably one of the best games (well 15 minutes) that I've ever seen. I didnt think Rovers had done much wrong in the opening half apart from conceeding that Ambrose goal. Very much against the run of play considering the chances we had. Was even further gutted when Murphy scored five minutes into the second half. How could we be in this position. Two lapses and 2-0 down. I've never seen Rovers come back from this scoreline before, and we're playing a pretty solid Charlton team. Game over I thought, I'm sure we all did. And how wrong we were!!! The turning point of the game wasnt the substitution of Savage (he wasnt to blame for the 2nd goal, Zurab sold him short), it was the replacing of the ineffective (again) Emerton. Shefki was superb up front. He showed great will to win. He's been given a fair bit of stick on this messageboard in the past and I hope that those people have at least admitted to themselves that he can be a decent player. He was composed in his turn in the box and although I believe Kiely hesitated due to his recent injury, Shefki cooly stuck the ball into the back of the onion bag. Good to see him retrieve the ball aswell rather than risk the swallow dive. What can you say about Thommo's goal. It was just cracking. His only touch of the ball in that move was the shot. No touch to control it, no touch to position it for a shot; just a scorcher of a goal. I was behind that goal and as soon as it left his foot we knew it was flying in. Kiely didnt have a chance. I must admit that I didnt think much of Bentley's performance last night and didnt he make me eat my words when he slotted in the winner. Great persistance from MGP to steal it from Spector (I'm so glad we didnt sign him, he was useless). Very unselfish pass from Morten to Bentley and under pressure he just picked his spot. I think if I was in his position I would've rushed it and spooned it into row Z. That's why I'm in the stand and not on the pitch. I shouted myself hoarse last night, and I'm still suffering today. I was so smug on the train back to London Bridge. I had to reply to my Charlton mate's earlier txt that I received at half time, as well as the one I got five minutes into the second half. Oh how the response was full of gloating!!! My car journey home took me an hour and I smiled the whole way...and I even got home in time to see the highlights on ITV (all 5 minutes of them). I dont care, nothing could've taken away my enjoyment of that game. Bring on the Toffees. After this game, three points on Saturday would really make my week. My team for Saturday Friedel Neill Zurab Admiral Mikey Thommo Tugay Reid MGP Kuqi Bellers Get the points to overtake Souness and his muppets in the league.
  22. I thought that Jemal has had his loan spell at Preston extended by another month???
  23. Just a comment following watching Sky's Match Choice last night.... When Kuqi scored his second goal, the camera soon panned over to Hughes as he double high-fived with Bowen and in the background at the throat of the tunnel was Craig Bellamy with both hands in his pockets and not any expression of joy on his face at the certain killing off of the game and a well earned 3 points for the Rovers. We know he's a class player but have we bought a player who doesn't give two hoots about the team unless he's central to the game??? I was dissapointed to see his lack of enthusiasm to this victory. I'll cut him some slack this time as he may have just been ticked off with his injury but surely a little applause for the victory wasn't too much to ask for!!!
