  1. You can still get tickets from Preston for £66 return on 17th Feb or £44 with a railcard. I would normally be going to this with my son and daughter-in-law living close but I'll be in New Zealand (and missing 5 home games as well).
  2. Wednesday's form is not particularly good in recent weeks. They won 2-0 away at Leeds last time out, but with 33% possession and 2 shots on target. Before that three defeats in a row including their last 2 home games.
  3. I do not intend to get into this debate at all except to say that what has been posted on this thread about last night's Forum is not correct. Both the subject of FFP and the transfer window were on the agenda and discussed but the reports of what Steve Waggott said are wrong. I won't comment any more on this until the minutes have been agreed and published
  4. The next meeting will be at Ewood on Thursday 6th February at 6pm.
  5. Rothwell's first instinct is always to run with the ball and try to beat players - that's why a lot of people have got excited about him. But there is just not enough end product. At Huddersfield he was out of the game until about 5 minutes from half time when he twice picked the ball up and beat a player or two before giving the ball away. He might as well be more like Smallwood and give it away quicker to speed the game up. He doesn't yet seem to have the nous to pick and choose when to run, when to pick out a killer pass and when to just move the ball. Sat in the middle of the park he just gives the ball away too much.
  6. Blimey, did you not see him in the cup at Birmingham? At Huddersfield he spent the first half on the wing and barely touched the ball. That was an improvement on his game at Birmingham - at least at Huddersfield he wasn't messing anything up.
  7. If anyone is driving to the game from the north west be aware that the M6 is closed all weekend from 9pm tonight until 5am Monday morning between junctions 32 and 33 i.e. from the M55 at Broughton to Galgate south of Lancaster. The A6 will be carnage all weekend.
  8. They have actually failed to score in 7 of their last 10 games.
  9. The reason they are up there was their excellent early season form. Recently it’s been worse than us. Their Christmas form was the same as ours, two draws and two losses although their’s were losses at home and draws away. Before that it was two wins and four losses. So 8 points from the last 30. They might still be up there but it’s in no way promotion form.
  10. The situation has worsened in the last couple of years since cars started parking on Livesey Branch Road below Albion St. There are no restrictions there so they are not parked illegally but they are demonstrably in the way after the game. they all park with two wheels on the footpath which seems to be accepted practice all over the place these days, but this means you can only walk single file on the footpath which is encouraging more people to walk up the road where cars are driving down unrestricted after the game.
  11. Nyambe's out chaddy.
  12. That's another area we have raised a few times at Forums Stuart. I'm particularly concerned about the situation on Livesey Branch Road where the traffic coming down to the ground is not controlled and we now have cars parked there on the hill parked half on the pavement. This means that at the end of games fans walk up the road as it's single file on the right hand pavement facing traffic coming down the hill, some of it at stupid speeds. it needs the council to restrict match day parking on the hill.
  13. I park beyond the canal in Mill Hill (beyond the residents only signs) - it has the real advantage of being able to drive straight away when I get to the car and i can be back home in Penwortham by 5.30 on a 3pm kick-off. I doubt there has been a season when I have not seen one or two cars with smashed windows from those parked on Albion St just before the canal bridge. Joe - we have discussed the traffic delays out of that car park a few times at the Fans Forum and I think we helped the club to persuade the council to suspend the right turn into the bus lane. I'll raise the issues of organisation in the car park and the length of time for the lights at the next meeting on 13th Jan.
  14. Mowbray on Radio Lancashire suggested it will be about 12 months before we see him again.
  15. Pardon me for answering your question. Merry Christmas.
  16. I think this could work as an alternative to occasional cheap games and packages. As Ossydave says it would make ST pricing complicated if it was introduced for every game. I also think it would need to be in blocks of 1,000 or 2,000. We only managed 7,000 last night at £10. I assume we would need to offer some discount to away fans as well? I think I'll add this to the next Forum agenda for the club's view.
  17. You're right Matty - for some reason I had half the top tier down as 2,500 rather than 1,500 as it is!
  18. Here's some stats to cheer all those of us who have seen us struggle against lower league teams at home who set up to defend and disrupt us and perform better against the better teams. Of the current bottom 8 teams we only have one left (Stoke) to play at home. In contrast we have 5 of the current top 7 teams still to come to Ewood.
  19. Whilst I agree with your overall points Matty, I think you're exaggerating walk-up tickets by up to 1,000. I don't know the exact number of away fans but it must have been c3,500 - half of top tier plus a good few in the lower tier. We had just over 8,600 St sales in September so adding the 200+ half STs sold gets us close to 9,000 so probably nearer 6,000 walk-ons. Still a good effort and I hope we can do it again in the New Year.
  20. The prospectus needs a little re-writing. The City of Culture bid is not from Blackburn/East Lancashire but from the whole of the current Lancashire County but also including Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen. Whilst Rovers may well get involved and clearly will celebrate the 150th anniversary as well they are not going to be at the heart of the bid.
  21. Look a bit harder - 2.366 and they are still on sale on the site.
  22. I imagine a lot ofg the gaps would be season ticket holders who didn't turn up - there were a few gaps around me which are normally taken on Saturdays. obviously at this time of year a number will have gone away and some will have chosen to watch at home - particularly some of our older fans and there are plenty in the JW Upper! They still get counted though.
  23. If you believe that Roverite then you must also accept that Blackburn is not in Lancashire either. It's been a unitary authority since 1998. It's not part of Lancashire County Council.
  24. Greg Coar isn’t leaving.
  25. I think if we're going to have a Monday night game then this date is better than most. School's out and lots of people won't be at work either
