  1. Has Johnson's view on management changed? To my knowledge he has always said that he did not want a manager's job and has always been pretty reluctant to do it even on a caretaker basis.
  2. Yes they are. It's a 2 game ban when they get to 10 cards before the 37th game of the season, so a way off yet.
  3. He's been sacked by Morecambe so is readily available.
  4. Oh I know Herbie, but we can't not ask a question.
  5. The next Forum is on Monday 9th February and this is on the agenda.
  6. A 46th minute substitution means a half time change I.e. the sub comes on in minute 46. If it had been in injury it would say 45+whatever. That sounds like giving him a half to build his fitness.
  7. Some pretty remarkable news about the 2027 Tour de France Grand Depart. We already knew that the first three stages would be in the UK. Stage 1 will be Edinburgh to Carlisle, stage 2 Keswick to Liverpool and stage 3 Welshpool to Cardiff. Stage 2 is the one to get excited about locally, as it comes right over the Forest of Bowland, straight past Ewood Park and then over Belmont, down to Eccleston and up Parbold Hill before racing into Liverpool. I’ve cycled pretty much the whole of that stage over the years, some bits of it many times. I’ll be out watching or might even volunteer to help - British Cycling want to recruit thousands and I’m already a member.
  8. I have no problem with the EV pay per mile plans. From the outset I knew that there would have to be some sort of tax to replace the money raised on fuel taxes as EVs became more popular. Right now there is no real way of knowing what the final plans will look like and there are still more than 2 years to go until implementation. EVs will still be way cheaper to run than ICE vehicles.
  9. That’s where I got it from DeeCee.
  10. Given that EVs are now already considerably cheaper than ICE cars for anyone who has access to charging either at home and/or work, if this development comes off it's pretty much a death knell for ICE vehicles.
  11. Just discovered whilst watching the highlights tonight that Rob Hatch is a Rovers fan. He’s from Accrington.
  12. The Beach Boys, as currently set up have not been worth seeing for a long time. Mike Love managed to get the rights to the name a long time ago and has been peddling a greatest hits band since then. The real genius was Brian Wilson and the band that he took back on the road was essential viewing, right from when he recreated Pet Sounds up to redoing Surf’s Up. I saw him at Glastonbury in 2005 but then outstandingly at the Festival Hall and then the Empire in Liverpool in the same week. Either of those was as good a gig as I have ever seen. Sadly, now Brian has gone, nothing purporting to be the Beach Boys is worth seeing.
  13. I thought that we played OK yesterday but have played better and lost this season. We got lucky with both goals, although it was inevitable that Ohashi would eventually get a goal by harassing defenders. But we were still comfortably better than a woeful Millwall side. I didn’t realise until after the game that Millwall substitute Caleb Taylor is Martin Taylor’s son.
  14. I'm in that situation Gav. These days I take a friend of mine in his late 70s who has been coming to Ewood since the late 50s but is now almost blind - he gets headphones from the club to listen to the game. He loves to come but has not been able to come since I think the first Ipswich game this season for sometimes his health and then his wife's. He's coming today. If there is a call to boycott the Watford game in January I will have difficulty complying if he wants to go.
  15. He is indeed excellent. I’ve seen him a few times, the last at Lytham Festival a couple of years ago. I know Joe Cocker’s brother Vic, who somewhat bizarrely was Chief Executive at Severn Trent Water for a number of years. I could never get him to talk about Joe though. All he would say is that “he’s his own man”.
  16. To cheer everyone up Clitheroe beat York City in the FA Trophy today. They are mid table in tier 8, with York 4th in the National League. It's the equivalent of Fleetwood beating Chelsea.
  17. He chose to represent his parents’ country Nigeria.
  18. According to an Oxford Messageboard about 10 minutes ago, the stewards on the coaches have been told the game is on.
  19. Their coaches are scheduled to leave at 2pm.
  20. Edmondson has just scored an absolute stunner to put Macclesfield 2-1 up in extra time.
  21. Don’t wish your life away. Next May will only be 98 years since our last FA Cup win.
  22. If called up he must also be a doubt for the Wrexham game on New Year’s Day. His last group game is 4pm on 30/12 and the Wrexham game is at 12.30. Should Nigeria go all the way he would also miss games against Charlton and Ipswich and the FA Cup 3rd round. Looking at betting odds Nigeria are odds on to win their group and 7/4 to make the semi finals.
  23. As well as the club there is a purchase necessary to buy the stadium, which is also owned by Chansiri but is a separate company. That's on top of the £30m or so.
  24. I don’t know but in our 4 away wins this season the opposition have managed a total of 4 shots on target and no goals.
