  1. I think Gumbi was taking the p**s out of Portsmouth fans the week before
  2. Team news - unchanged except for Beck in for Hedges.
  3. I don't think there is much history of trouble between fans. But I'm hearing that a train has arrived at Preston completely wrecked by Leeds fans.
  4. I don't know Hasta. I was messaging a friend whose husband is a Leeds fan who couldn't get a ticket and she said he was planning to watch it there. As I said earlier I would assume no one can as it will still be on at 3pm.
  5. Apparently it is on Sky if you have NowTV.
  6. I assume not as it will still be playing after the 3pm blackout time.
  7. bluebruce - I realise that you have now found a car and therefore probably are not now looking for an electric option but thought that you might like to see this article. The first link is to an article on electrifying.com, but is sponsored by Dacia so bear that in mind - https://www.electrifying.com/blog/article/dacia-s-surprising-sums-can-you-afford-not-to-spring?utm_source=electrifying.com&utm_campaign=1dd76874c3-Nov25_2024&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_5352d218ef-1dd76874c3-220885182 This is the review from the same site so more balanced - https://www.electrifying.com/reviews/dacia/spring/review
  8. No, I think you're a long way out, mainly as we only played Leeds first in 1924. I've spent the last 30 minutes looking at this and it looks to me like the answer, somewhat surprisingly, is Liverpool - 158 games. The team we have played most is I think Aston Villa at 174 times, but they haven't always been at Villa Park.
  9. Cantwell’s “goal” was comfortably off. The replay had most of his left leg offside.
  10. Portsmouth have a second game in a row postponed.
  11. A couple of pages moaning about Dolan missing a chance and not a single word about Cantwell who has given the ball away countless times. edit: except when I was typing!
  12. I was expecting that sacking to happen after the weekend so that we would be facing the sacked manager backlash.
  13. If you have bought tickets in the recent past then there should be no problem. Further back, it might be.
  14. Do you have a history of purchasing home tickets at Ewood? If not, you may need to contact the club and make your case that you’re not Burnley fans just trying to get in the home end. You should be able to do it, but the club won’t just sell tickets to someone they don’t know for this game.
  15. No doubt there could be a solution but not only would it be hugely expensive as I mentioned above but it would be complicated to get Environmental Agency approval for if at all. There are enough issues with cleaning up our waterways nationally without someone coming along trying to develop a scheme just to save the postponement of the occasional football game.
  16. Whilst I can imagine that delaying a kick-off could be a viable option for many games and different conditions I can’t see that it would have worked today. To get to Ewood for 3pm today a Portsmouth fan would have needed to catch a train at 6.45am and would not be home until after midnight with a normal finish. I imagine by road it would be much the same. So even with a breakfast inspection 2,000 fans would also be well on their way and it would have been tough to make a clear decision then anyway. Delaying the kick-off would mean that anyone on the train would not be able to get home tonight.
  17. To put my comment in context I only started watching the game just before the sending off so did not see the earlier incident. I would have booked Bassette for the first push. Had that happened of course he might not have committed the second foul and therefore no sending off. Whilst Bassette shouldn't have held his face I don't think there's any real difference between being pushed in the face or the neck - both are a straight red for me.
  18. I would have gone the other way round. The foul and then chat deserved a yellow but you can’t condone the two handed push to a player’s neck these days however much he had been wound up.
  19. That’s right. It’s always been at the bottom of a valley right next to a river. Whatever drainage system is in place or could be in place if money was spent won’t make a difference if it can’t drain into the river on days like this. You would have to have a pumping system in place and somewhere to pump it into on a temporary basis, which would be eye-wateringly expensive.
  20. I think most Rovers fans will be aware of Colby Bishop, given he made his name in 3 successful seasons just down the road at Stanley.
  21. I forgot my ST for a game recently. I got a replacement for free but was told that if I did it again I would be charged.
  22. This isn’t an East Lancs Forum. It’s a forum for fans of a football club. I’ve supported Rovers for over 60 years but have never lived in East Lancs. And if your tea cake has currents in it it will be out at sea by now.
  23. I'm guessing that's because Saturday was unusual in that there wasn't a competing live Premier League match on TNT in the UK. The Rovers game was the "main" game here.
  24. Eustace's first substitution may not have been great, but his second was excellent. As soon as the 3 came on we were able to slow down the flow of Cardiff's attacks which were looking like swamping us. It wasn't that they were any better than those that went off but more that they were 3 pairs of fresh legs. Cardiff were very lucky with the penalty - the shot was so bad that Pears was left having to push it out - he went a long way towards the post and had it been further into the corner he would have either caught it or pushed it wide.
