I remember seeing Roxy Music in Ranmoor Hall at Sheffield University in October 1972. The foresighted events committee at the hall had booked them for Freshers Week in the early Summer. Then they brought out this album and suddenly they were all over everywhere. Fair play to them, they honoured the gig, which was absolutely rammed. The woman who is now my wife was also there, although we didn't know each other then. -

Meeting my City supporting brother-in-law and sister-in-law after the game (we were in opposite ends), their first comment was how lucky City were and that the game deserved to be a draw. The winning goal came out of the blue after Rovers had had a good 20 minutes. I’m with Tyrone on Buckley- overall he had a decent game. Obviously he doesn’t get in the midfield if Tronstad and Travis are fit, but right now I would play him further forward in Cantwell’s spot -

I have received this as Fans Forum secretary this morning. I have no personal contact with Nick but it might be useful for some fans. if you are interested please contact Nick directly. My name is Nick Baldwin . I saw your contact details on Blackburn Rovers Fans Forum. I understand that the club are away to Bristol City this Saturday 25th January and would like to offer our facilities to away fans. We are a family run community club, based around 5.5 miles from Ashton Gate and we are happy to give away fans a place to enjoy and socialise before the game. We have a large ballroom / lounge available with sky sports and music We will have special offers on a wide range of drinks and food is available to order. We can accommodate around 200 - 250 fans . As Blackburn are a well supported club could you please pass our details on to any groups that might be travelling down for the game. Obviously it is a limited space so we would need groups to book and let us know they are coming. Our contact details are below and our team will be happy to help and discuss their requirements. Dan, Rich and Port Team Tele 01179 823927 Email info@pbaclub.co.uk https://pbaclub.co.uk/ Kind regards Nick Baldwin -
Just to add to K-Hod's post the agenda is not vetted beforehand. I ask Forum members for anything they want on the agenda (K-Hod collects those from brfcs members) and then draw up the agenda. I do often give some background to the club to the agenda items, but that is so that we can get a proper answer which we can then ask further questions of. If I didn't do that we would end up with us asking a question and the club saying understandably that they were not aware and needed to investigate. Inevitably the minutes can sometimes look like we ask a question and get a reply and move on. But usually there will be more debate and I'm clearly not writing a verbatim account of everything said.

David Lynch gone today. Newsnight just played a short clip from Twin Peaks - you don’t get TV like that any more.

The issue I have with ACD is that he has yet to learn not to try and beat players in his own half. Once in the opposition half and with some space to run he has been very effective but he still wants to play the same way defensively. He was a bit better in that respect last night than he has been in other games, notably at Millwall, so maybe he is learning. Whilst Buckley had a mixed game (as did most of the team in truth), for me he played the pass of the night in the first few seconds. From the kick-off he stepped to one side and curled a ball to Hedges who passed it on to Weimann who almost took it into the penalty box. -

It’s Forshaw Tyrone! Unless we’ve slipped Robbie Earnshaw in under the radar. -

The Met Office forecast is for any mist to clear by kick off, but pretty nippy. -

Whilst Wolves’ form has picked up a bit recently, the 4 matches they have before we play them are away at Newcastle and Chelsea and home to Arsenal and Villa. They could be very much in the relegation fight by then. -

I think you’re confusing names randomly mentioned on the internet with actual names of players that are being considered by the club. As far as I know none of the players mentioned have a definite link t9 the club as yet. -
Probably a question for me. I liaise with the club about Forum dates and they often move. In fact, although K-Hod doesn’t know yet I’ve been asked if we can move the 10/2 date to 11/2. I will be asking members if that’s OK in the next few days. As it happens I can’t do 11th but that won’t affect any move as I am away for nearly 6 weeks from then anyway. If a significant number of members can’t make the new date we will look again. But it’s virtually impossible to get any date all members can get to. And there is no point in sticking to a date that the club’s senior management can’t make. But we have had meetings moved in the past if I and/or the Chair can’t make a date.

Well he was bloody awful at Millwall. He started very well against Sunderland but from midway through the first half gradually got worse. Completely nondescript against Hull. -

You’ll need your big coat but otherwise it should be fine, unless the forecast radically changes. -
Two out of the three finalists learned their trade at Northcote.

I wonder if the upper tier tickets would sell if they available throughout the season. At sensible prices I suspect that they would, but probably at the expense of sales in the Riverside. -

Pickering is out for 12 weeks - if that stays true there will only be 6/7 weeks of the season left. Beck is young and has already missed several games for a variety of reasons. I’m content with Dolan as man of the match, although Brittain is not a bad shout also. Cantwell did more in the first 10 minutes than the whole of the game at Millwall, but then as the game went on lost more and more influence. ACD has so far had one great half against Luton, one poor one and an anonymous game at Millwall. There might be a case for him starting against Hull as we need some player management over the next few weeks but I’m not enthused so far.
