  1. In truth the discussion on standing is at both ends. A number want to be able to stand legitimately all the time and equally a number want to be able to sit and watch and get irritated by others standing in front of them. The working group is aimed to provide a solution that leaves everyone happy.
  2. It took 6 hours to sell out of the first wave of home strips, so it sounds like pretty much the same has happened for the away.
  3. No it wasn't. We have regularly talked about catering at Forum meetings - for many on here the standard of pies was thought to be all we talked about. But not last night.
  4. I'm not sure that was the case. It's not exactly unheard of for someone to take over on a caretaker basis and then not get the permanent job.
  5. You're right in that originally, when John Williams set the Forum up, on field matters were off the agenda. It is only subsequently that other CEOs have been happy to answer questions and we have had managers along in the past, although not recently. What I can say is that any release clause for Ash Phillips was not discussed last night, for the simple reason that it wasn't in the social media domain when the meeting started.
  6. The minutes represent a distillation of the meeting. Yes, both sides agree them but it's not a case of me, as the secretary, just accepting the club's changes to my draft. Some times we have some debate, which can mean delays at times, but generally we come to an agreement pretty quickly. We agree collectively not to comment on what has been raised at the meeting until the minutes are agreed. This is because there have been a few issues in the past where Forum members have had conversations on message boards and social media immediately after a meeting and have conveyed completely incorrect information.
  7. Well brfcs has a rep on the Forum. Have you ever communicated with him? He has certainly asked for comments.
  8. I have always thought that if a player is injured as a result of a foul then he should be allowed to stay on the pitch. If he just goes down injured then he should have to go off for a period to discourage players using it as a time wasting technique. I would give the addition of added time to the fourth official, who could just stop a stop watch for every delay. I would also add double the time to any player penalised for time wasting - that would very soon stop it.
  9. It’s like any sport Tyrone, you just need to spend a little time understanding the basics. Once you grasphow the timings work in road racing you’re more than halfway. And you need to recognise that it’s a team game even though it’s an individual that wins. Im afraid I will be missing the West Brom game as I’ll be up in Glasgow for the cycling World Championships booked ages ago. It’s the world’s biggest ever cycling event.
  10. Unless you want to buy a specific seat, maybe next to friends, why would you buy a ticket now? The price will be the same at the July pay day, still before the first game of the season.
  11. I'll be at home ignoring it. It's the cricket season and the Tour de France will still be on.
  12. Indeed. The ball firmly if unexpectedly back in Lancs court. Should make Sunday interesting.
  13. This game looks doomed to be a no result. Unfortunately it looks like Notts will win tonight and they have whipping boys Leicestershire at home on Sunday so second place looks unlikely.
  14. Having now spent some time sat in Old Trafford looking at the permutations I agree but the key is to finish second so we get a home quarter final. That will probably mean beating Northants here on Sunday.
  15. The line at the Forum was that the kit would be out in early July. Assuming that happens next week as sounds likely I can't see much to complain about on this front. A month before the start of the new season and before school holidays start.
  16. As far as I'm aware they are made in Chine arbitro and then sent to Macron's distribution centre in Italy (Bergamo?). There were bad floods wherever the centre is. I remember Steve Waggott mentioning at the last Forum that he had a slight concern that there could be issues with the floods. My understanding is that an advance delivery of kit, for the players to use and for some sales was being airfreighted across with the main order following by sea.
  17. Because Skyscanner is just a comparison site that all sorts of awful online travel agents use. You are likely to be directed to one of them by Skyscanner.
  18. Don’t whatever you do book anything through Skyscanner.
  19. I more or less did. I was working on the water bar at West Holts on Sunday when they were on, so I could see and definitely hear them, although I couldn't properly watch them. They were quite a spectacle, though I'm not one for heavy metal. It's not everyday you come across a Mongolian throat singing metal band. You wouldn't want to bump into any of them on a dark night.
  20. Well that's my opinion Gav and it's the only one I've got on him. As you say there thousands of others who disagreed with me, including my wife. But. equally there were plenty of people who left well before the end. Of course that happens all the time at Glastonbury, as there is so much else you can do if you decide you're not enjoying something. It's not an option you get at regular gigs. The music scene is now so much more diverse than it was 30,40,50 years ago. When I go to see an act at Glastonbury quite often I will never have heard of them but there will always be a significant number of people for whom they are a special act, they will know the words to the songs etc. It will be harder in future to find "legends" that will have mass appeal but that's not something that worries me. There will always be acts I want to see even if they don't attract crowds of 100,000+. I always want to hear new music - a lot of it I won't like, some of it I will positively hate but regularly I find stuff I really love. An example is The Lathums. For some reason I thought they were a metal band so didn't make any effort to see them over the weekend. But looking on iPlayer when we got back last night I find they're not and pretty enjoyable.
  21. Tyrone - pretty much every major performance from Glastonbury should be in the iPlayer for a while. I'm pretty much with you on Elton John. He seems like a genuinely good bloke but I have never been enthusiastic about his music - I rate a couple of songs but not much else. I made the mistake on Sunday of deciding to see his set thinking it was at least going to produce some interesting guests. I was wrong, with the exception of Jacob Lusk. Overall it was dire and I should have done what my son did and walked after 20 minutes and found something more interesting (although I don't think his solution of Queens of The Stone Age was the right answer!). There were plenty others that did leave. The fireworks were nice though. Apart from that a great week at Glastonbury as always. Saw Texas. The Gabriels, Steve Earle, Young Fathers and Kelis on Friday. The Unthanks, Rick Astley’s last song, Amadeu & Mariam, Lizzo and Christine & The Queens on Saturday. Black Country, New Road, The Speakers Corner Quartet and The Hu, The War on Drugs and Elton John Sunday. A lot of those were half watching and listening while working on the WaterAid water bar at West Holts. Many were also part watched. My Glastonbury moment was hearing a fabulous version of Mount the Air by The Unthanks and the best band overall The War on Drugs. Weirdest but excellent Christine & The Queens.
