Season Tickets 2020-21
only2garners replied to Scotland1's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Preston expect to put their STs on sale in the "next couple of weeks". With a 25-30% capacity at Deepdale they plan to sell first to their ambassadors, whatever they are. -
To be honest most sides do it most of the time - it's just that you usually can't hear it most of the time because of the crowd.

It’s a hell of a commute from Yarm. -
The old adage for gyms from before Covid still applies - walk, run or cycle to your gym. When you get to the front door turn round and walk, run or cycle home. Exercise done and lots of gym fees saved.

Championship Season 2020 - 2021

September 12th is currently the most likely date but nothing is agreed as yet. There was talk of the end of August which would mean fewer midweek games but it leaves a very short time - less than a month from the end of the play-offs and no fixture list can be issued until after then. September 12th has the problem of there being an International "break" right before it. -
Wigan Administration

Wigan's administrator has said that he has a preferred bidder for the club, who needs to confirm that full funding is with their lawyer and needs to sign a contract by 31st July. -

Without wishing to get into the Mowbray debate that’s rubbish Mercer. Curtis’ exit poll will be carefully balanced to be a reflection of the voting public as a whole. With the best will in the world any poll on here is a self selecting poll of those who are members and come on here regularly enough to see a poll. As others have said there are other Rovers groups who similarly self select and come up with a different answer, one that equally does not represent the views of all Rovers fans. -
I don't know why the Millwall v Boro game was at 3pm and ours is at 7.45pm. At the Fans Forum the other week Steve Waggott said that the club were trying to get the Cardiff and Millwall games brought forward to stop a return in the early hours, but clearly they didn't manage to.

West Brom at home

Well he’s got a first for me, tucking his shorts into his socks. -
I'm not sure about that! I am interested and so have plenty of knowledge of different wines, but I'm still far from an expert. Still, the practising is always enjoyable.

We went to Moor Hall about two years ago when he had one star. It was a midweek and a bit quiet so lacking a bit in atmosphere and service a bit stiff but the food was excellent, as good as I've eaten. The Barn is less formal although a step up from a good gastropub. We've also been to both L'Enclume and the Bistro in Cartmel. L'Enclume irritated us - it felt like they were trying too hard to be edgy, especially with the wine flight. we much preferred the Bistro. But still, despite Moor Hall probably having the edge on food quality, we prefer Northcote for the overall experience. Especially the wine events, although if and when they will start again, who knows.

I would presume that when season tickets are sold you will be able to opt to sit together with your household group if appropriate. So that ther can't be a pattern of allocated seats and gaps - it will depend on the groups who buy. I would also imagine that preferences could be taken into account as people buy their tickets at least at the beginning. As spaces fill up (with gaps left as appropriate) then people will have to take the best of what's left. I can see a case for season tickets to be sold in groups rather like the allocation of away tickets for popular games. At the end of the day there is plenty of room to accommodate every season ticket holder in a decent seat as long as fans aren't too precious about the exact seat location.

We went to the Barn at Moor Hall on Tuesday. we had booked to sit outside but given the weather they managed to squeeze us in inside. Everything very well organised as you would expect - the menu only available through downloading on your phone via a QR code. Plenty of room with very nice screens between tables. Toilets only used by one person at a time but fine with the numbers involved. Everyone, including Mark Birchall was masked up. Food was fabulous as well!

We just finished the Ribble Way today with a walk from home to the Fish on Longton Marsh (proper name Dolphin Inn). Celebrated with lunch and my first proper pint since the beginning of February. We've now walked all the way from Ribblehead to the Fish. On another lockdown project I have agreed to cycle 1,000 miles for charity over the next few months. I'll be doing it for WaterAid, a charity close to my heart and which I had a very small part in helping set up in 1982. If anyone wants to find our more and/or sponsor me ave a look at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/John-Wareing5.

I’ve still not forgiven Wigan for taking my second team Southport’s place in Division 4 re-election in 1978. -

Not a great way to finish your 5,000th league game - the first club to get there. Of course they’ve only played more than us because we have been more successful and therefore have played less in the lower leagues where they have played more games. -
Wigan Administration

It's a 12 point penalty for administration, applied at the end of the season, unless they finish up in the bottom 3, in which case it's applied next season. Right now they are on 50 points, so effectively 38 and 2 points adrift of Luton. But they have won 3 in a row so could still get out of relegation. -
It was indeed Arthur Lee who headed Love. Albert Lee is another well known guitarist, still around. Then there's Alvin Lee, late of Ten Years after. Anyway Tyrone, your post reminded me that I still need to watch that. the TV is no match for being there, mainly because most of what;'s good about Glastonbury never gets on the TV, but still it's better than nothing.

But without rearing the calf for veal it would be killed at birth. Instead the calf is reared to almost full growth before being slaughtered at about 8 months. That sounds harsh but it's longer than chickens and lambs typically live.
-
What you’re describing there is not what is produced as rose veal in the UK.
-
As someone born on a farm I have no qualms about eating meat. If I couldn’t countenance killing the animal I wouldn’t be eating it. gumboots - you should consider eating rose veal. It’s ethically produced from male calves which would otherwise be killed at birth.

No White Swan or Moor Hall Basturk?

I’ve got a restaurant booking! My son has booked a table at The Barn at Moor Hall for him, my wife and I on 7th July. That’s the day they plan to open again ad also my wife’s birthday.

Our eldest was sleeping through from about 10 weeks - all he did was sleep and eat. Come to think of it he's not changed much yet and he'll be 37 soon. His brother never slept through more than an odd night until he was 5. I always thought it was nature's way of encouraging us to have a second but not a third. Congratulations and good luck Mike!
