  1. The Bolton game would have been tricky for most schools as they are now on Easter holidays until after the game.
  2. Good to see Haseeb Hameed starting the season with a good knock - he's just made 200 today, which will do his confidence no end of good. I know it's only against the students at Loughborough but still....
  3. I certainly didn’t, but then they were playing QPR. Meantime Reading were beating PNE.
  4. It looks to me like the ladies’ win today means they have won the league and therefore promotion?
  5. Guess I picked the wrong time to go to an away game... and don’t call me Shirley. I don’t want to worry you all but ny away record this season is:- Bristol City 4-1 Preston 4-1 Wigan 3-1 Sfeffield United 3-0 Rotherham 3-2
  6. Well a defensive midfielder isn't going to have a lot of goals and assists is he?
  7. The way to tell whether someone is from Preston is to ask them to say plaster or master. If they say it with a long a then they are.
  8. There's already a law for time wasting. Referees can book players and add on time for any wasted - they just don't do it often enough. There is a change they could make - get the referee to add on double the time wasted by any player. That would pretty soon stop it.
  9. As far as I can see the Three Fishes is no longer a Brunning & Price pub, although the Clog & Billycock and the two others that were sold still are. Presumably because they already had the Aspinall arms across the road. I've no idea who owns it now but that might explain the difference in standards.
  10. It’s also good to see that the Bolton and Swansea games will also not be available on the red button.
  11. Yes. Tube to Paddington, fast train to Reading and £2 bus to the ground.
  12. They have also won 9-0, 7-0, 6-1, 7-0 and 9-2. They have been making a mockery of the FA decision all season.
  13. I've been in plenty which reduce prices when it's quiet though e.g. happy hour. Presumably that's what's happening here?
  14. Well it was in the 30s when my grandad was going to Ewood and Deepdale on alternate weeks, walking to both from Bamber Bridge. And it was in the 70s when I was watching Southport on Friday nights and alternating Saturdays with Ewood and somewhere else when they Rovers away somewhere a distance away. And I’m pretty sure it was in the 90s when there were plenty of fans coming to watch Premier League games at Ewood because they could.
  15. Whilst I understand your main point blueboy, the obvious answer to this is that if they did that they would have to charge away fans the same. Putting together a package allows the club to charge top prices for the North End game when given their form they will no doubt bring plenty.
  16. A few weeks ago I expressed an opinion that I hadn't seen any end product in what Rothwell offered. He seemed to be all about picking up the ball, running at defenders, often beating one or two and then most of the time giving the ball away. He then proceeded to put in a couple of good performances immediately after and I thought he was making progress. Then yesterday he was back to a headless chicken performance. To add to blueboy's points there was another when Williams had the ball on the touchline and looked up into an acre of space up the left wing whilst Rothwell was standing around on the edge of the box. I haven't read many of the posts after the game as we have been entertaining my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, both Bristol City season ticket holders. They were both apologetic after the game for having stolen the points - we all agreed that a draw would have been the fairer result. Despite them sitting in a play-off position currently they can't see them staying there. Certainly we will play worse and get something from a future game - in fact we did play worse against QPR and won earlier in the season.
  17. The club won't undercut the package they have given to full and half ST holders for a 6 game package. I'd agree that I don't expect huge numbers of this package to be sold. Maybe the fact that for 6 games it's a relatively small amount of cash for many might encourage a few and for most they should have a fair idea of whether they can make the games, which you can't when you're buying in the Summer.
  18. I'm a farmer's son perthblue, so if you want I can get you some straw to clutch on.......
  19. And exactly how does all this relate to the discussion on attendances?
  20. For those travelling to the game from the west the canal bridge at Green Lane in Cherry Tree has now reopened.
  21. You're probably right mattyblue. It's worked for me though, as i knew I would be buying a few extra match tickets. My son gave up his season ticket this season as he only made 4/5 games all last year, but he still gets to a few and the £3 discount is worth it for me.
  22. I don't know how many 1875 Club members there are but it seems to me a decent deal if you want to come to this game and maybe a few others before the end of the season. If you join for £15 the ticket for Boro will be £25 with £5 back in the club shop and then £3 discounts thereafter. I took out membership as a ST holder for £10 and have had my money back with a few tickets for my son when he can make it and will save a bit more in the rest of the season. Hardly a fortune but still definitely a saving. I'm still expecting a multi-game offer as indicated at the last Fans Forum - looks likely now that it will include the home games with PNE and Wigan, allowing discounts for home fans whilst charging top prices for away fans.
  23. Lies, damned lies and statistics. Bristol City have won 6 in a row - 1 in the league in December, 3 in January and two FA cup ties.
  24. We still have to play Norwich away, last away game of the season.
