  1. That pretty much happened this season. We ended up with two sell out away attendances (Leeds and PNE) and no other team came remotely close. We will probably get them again next season, assuming Leeds are still with us, almost whenever we play them. Yet PNE had at least 4 sell-outs (Rovers, Leeds, Sheff Utd and Birmingham City). Their end is obviously smaller than the Darwen End but its still 5K+. They just got lucky playing Birmingham when they were playing well before the points deduction and Sheff Utd right at the end of a promotion season. We had the former just before Christmas and the latter on a Tuesday night early in the season. I don't think there were any price promotions involved. Of course Preston is a bit easier to get to for away fans, especially when there were so many Northern rail strikes on matchdays.
  2. Matt - that’s surely because, whilst Ossy and Rishton are near Blackburn, they are also not far from Burnley. Whereas Colne is a far way from Ewood in comparison. There aren’t many dingles in Chorley either.
  3. If you mean Southend v Sunderland that’s not a dead rubber. As I type, with Plymouth winning, Southend are in the last relegation place. At the other end of the table the two automatic places are sorted so the relegation battle is the obvious place to be. Mind you the fact that Sunderland are the away team no doubt means that’s on rather than Plymouth v Scunthorpe.
  4. What deadline? There doesn’t appear to be any deadline in terms of prices, except for a mention of more Club Cash for anyone buying sooner rather than later. There is a deadline of 1st July for existing ST holders to retain their current seat but no mention of a deadline for these prices.
  5. No it wouldn't. Salford is a separate city to Manchester.
  6. That puts them up three places in the table and above Rovers. Not that it really matters.
  7. They have another game yet, at home to Guiseley on Sunday. A chance to improve that +93 goal difference.
  8. Marvin Emnes and very briefly Mo Barrow in very recent times - maybe neither of them could be categorised as notable though.
  9. They will be fine on Saturday - it's Sunday when the prices go up.
  10. I think re the red card that some are looking at the situation and thinking Williams won’t get back for that, knowing something of his pace. Presumably the referee can’t make a judgement based on an individual player’s pace, as a lot of the time he won’t know. He just has to look at the relative positions and assume they have similar pace. I’ve seen all Championship teams live this season except Middlesbrough and Swansea (yet). I missed the home game with Sheffield United when by all accounts they played us off the park but I did go to Bramall Lane. Whilst they were very efficient in exploiting our vulnerability that day by no means were they dominant. Norwich are the best team I’ve seen live, but an awful lot depends on how a team plays on any given day. Look at Derby - awful at Ewood yet still favourite for a play-off place (although probably not to win it). The main reason the Championship is more interesting than the Premier League is that no team has been able to be consistent enough to dominate the league - pretty much any team can beat any other on any given day (well maybe not Ipswich).
  11. The i does it for every Premier League team on Fridays and Championship on Saturdays.
  12. Well at least that monkey’s off my back.
  13. It was good to Rob Jones get his second hundred of the season too. He's not a player who I have been tremendously impressed with when I've seen him but it's a great start to the season. And Glenn Maxwell has started with a michelle. Did Alex Davies get injured? It looks like Brooke Guest was wicketkeeping (he took 5 catches anyway) and Davies only came into bat at number 9.
  14. Lancashire have 9 County Championship games before the first test England play this Summer, so there's plenty of chance to get some value from Hameed. And whilst Keaton Jennings isn't good enough for England (at least in England), he's plenty good enough for CC Div 2.
  15. And another 100 today, this time against Middlesex - 108 not out as I type.
  16. From the last Fans Forum minutes - Looking to launch season ticket information mid to late April.
  17. No, we're driving down on Thursday to do some makeover work on my son's garden, hopefully get into a concert by The National and go to QPR.
  18. So is this the game my away hoodoo is broken? So far I've been to Bristol City (4-1), Preston (4-1), Wigan (3-1), Sheffield United (3-0), Rotherham (3-2) and Sheffield Wednesday (4-2). And a warning to other fans - I'm also going to QPR.
  19. As I said I wasn't at the last meeting so can't comment, but normally the discussion on the major items runs on for some time and the minutes are just a reflection of the major points made by each side. it certainly isn't a matter of we ask a question, the club answers and I write it down - there is more debate than that. i guess the minutes end up looking like the lesser matters are given the same prominence but most of these are often one sentence question and answer.
  20. I had decided that I wasn't going to comment on the Fans Forum meetings but I think I need to say something re the comments above. I wasn't at the last meeting (I messed up the dates and was on a plane at the time), so i can't comment on the detailed discussions. But the agenda had a number of items that have been big talking points on this Forum for weeks now including Season Tickets, Attendances and Preston Game Kick-Off Time. In addition there has also been comment on the Northcote contract and on the state of John Lewis' grave. And I hope all fans would want us to raise instances of racist and homophobic behaviour. I've been on the Forum now for around 10 years and the one item that we have talked about more than any other has been attendances and atmosphere. It's probably one of the most constant threads on brfcs over that time as well. I know that Steve Waggott has said that he was unable to develop more affordable hospitality options because of the terms of the Northcote contract, so I expect the ending of the contract was mutual. So hopefully next season should see some cheaper options. There was criticism earlier in the year that the club had not carried out their promise to clean up John Lewis' grave given at the last Supporters' Meeting as it was reported in the LET that a scout group had done the work. In fact it was the Rovers chaplain who arranged that. I would hope that most fans would see that the emergency cords being tied up in disabled toilets so that anyone in a wheelchair can't reach them is important to get sorted. It might only affect a handful of people but still. Putting up shelving in the JW Upper is of course a minor issue but do you think we should never raise things like this because at every meeting there are always more important issues? It was a simple request and it will be handy for fans, so why shouldn't it be raised?
  21. Derby might have only won one in eight away from home but they scored 9 in their last two games - so 0-0 banker then.
  22. Another thought - it may have been to minimise extra staff. Presumably the JW Upper is fully staffed anyway and putting everyone in the BE Upper might have meant more staff.
  23. No idea Matty - the first I knew of it was at the game and then reading comments on here. Maybe some were given the chance to sit with family who already had season tickets?
  24. The club only gave out 2,500 tickets in total and as has been reported some of them were in the JW Upper there would be less in the Blackburn End. Certainly I noticed a lot more children in the JW Upper than normal.
