  1. The prospectus needs a little re-writing. The City of Culture bid is not from Blackburn/East Lancashire but from the whole of the current Lancashire County but also including Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen. Whilst Rovers may well get involved and clearly will celebrate the 150th anniversary as well they are not going to be at the heart of the bid.
  2. Look a bit harder - 2.366 and they are still on sale on the site.
  3. I imagine a lot ofg the gaps would be season ticket holders who didn't turn up - there were a few gaps around me which are normally taken on Saturdays. obviously at this time of year a number will have gone away and some will have chosen to watch at home - particularly some of our older fans and there are plenty in the JW Upper! They still get counted though.
  4. If you believe that Roverite then you must also accept that Blackburn is not in Lancashire either. It's been a unitary authority since 1998. It's not part of Lancashire County Council.
  5. Greg Coar isn’t leaving.
  6. I think if we're going to have a Monday night game then this date is better than most. School's out and lots of people won't be at work either
  7. I'm with you EIT. He has been comfortably our worst performer in each of the last three games.
  8. And ahead of dropping Rothwell, who has been dreadful for three games in a row now?
  9. It was two yellows rather than a straight red. Presumably he said something or pushed a player?
  10. I’d be a damn sight more confident if we were playing Rovers ( although we didn’t manage to beat them in league 1).
  11. The BBC preview suggests that neither Downing or Graham are likely to play at Swansea.
  12. That's another stat in Rovers favour. We have conceded 10 goals in 10 games at home and Derby 18 in 9 away.
  13. Make sure you get the stopping train from Preston. There are two trains an hour - you want the one at 57 past the hour to Colne, which will stop at Mill Hill. The 46 past the hour is the express to Leeds and York and will just stop in Blackburn. If you have a long wait in Preston there are a couple of handy pubs just outside.
  14. So did Armstrong and Graham as well roversmum - that I think is just what happens but usually you don't notice it. My view is that the Stoke game was the wrong one for Rothwell and he would have been better to have missed that one and be back for the Derby game, which will be much more suited to his talents. He does still need to work out when to pass the ball and when to attack opposing players - he still has a tendency to do the latter too many times in the wrong part of the pitch.
  15. It’s not exactly surprising though is it? As a general rule the teams at the top have a good goal difference and those at the bottom a bad one. Hardly surprising - if you’re winning regularly your goal difference will keep getting better. Obviously there can be sides whose goal difference is out of kilter with that pattern but it’s a general rule. Last week there was a time when we were top of four sides on the same points because our goal difference was better. Here’s another interesting fact. At the moment we have played 4 of the top 5 away from home. By New Year’s Day we will have played 7 of the top 8 away and only 1 at home - Brentford. Given that we tend to play better at home against the better sides that could augur well for 2020.
  16. I wold hardly describe a goal difference of -1 as terrible for a team 11th in the table - around about right for a mid table position. If we beat Derby we will be a point better off than last season. The key is avoiding another bad run - manage that and we will be challenging through the season. Revert to or normal fluctuating forma and we won't.
  17. That would fit with my view too. I missed the first 3 home games but have seen all the others and Preston and Stoke away and Downing has comfortably been our best player across those games.
  18. Morecambe will be a challenge as Blackpool knocked them out in round 1 4-1.
  19. That's what you wrote Stuart. You may well have meant that they would be Wigan fans but given it was made on a thread about Rovers attendances it's not unreasonable that posters, including me, assumed that you meant scrotes from both teams or even just our own scrotes. And we have plenty, as anyone who has been to some local away games can verify.
  20. Bairstow is in the test squad - he was added last week as cover for Joe Denly, who has an injury.
  21. I don’t see an issue with managing the next two NI games given that they are next week. It would be the potential play-off game in March I would be concerned about.
  22. If by that comment you are suggesting that Greg Coar is related to Rob Coar then you are completely wrong. As others have said on this thread Greg is from a long standing Rovers supporting family and is one of the good guys, as in truth are the majority of staff at Ewood.
  23. I absolutely do believe that a £10 or £15 deal is a good idea and I also agree that it should be done at a popular attractive fixture and not a winter Tuesday night. But I was replying to Old Ewood Blue who was suggesting that we should do away with season tickets and just charge £10 -15 a game - that absolutely won't work.
  24. +1 for Paul's post above. It's not even a practical idea. No doubt if we charged £10 or £15 for the home game with Preston we would have a bumper crowd but how many would we have had for the game with Forest? Team playing poorly, Tuesday night, bad weather, game on Sky red button - the crowd would be down to the level of an early League Cup game, a few thousand. 4,000 at £10 doesn't look quite so good.
  25. You seem to be confusing what I post in situations like this with my opinions. I was just posting what the club told us they planned to do with these two games - it doesn't mean that I agree with it. I have been on the Forum for over 10 years now and there haven't been many meetings when we haven't talked about attendances and atmosphere at Ewood. I'm sure it will be on the agenda in November as well and i'll be raising many of the ideas that have been posted on here over the last few weeks.
