  1. Yes you can, but the price will be £3 more after 12pm, which it will be if you're waiting for the end of the semi-final. I thought they might push that time back for a 5.30 kick-off but it looks like they haven't. Love Balaji
  2. I'm assuming he's being rested rather than droppedI TMS was suggesting on the last day of the test that Broad and Anderson would be doing one tour each to Sri Lanka and the West Indies. The problem with that was who was going to tell Jimmy he wasn't going to the Caribbean!
  3. You might think a fee is not justified or you might think £10 is too much, but no way can you argue that you're being robbed.
  4. Whether it's a luxury or not, there are still costs associated with replacing the cards. Having your wallet stolen is unfortunate, but describing the ticket office of robbing you by asking for a payment for a service is ridiculous. If you don't replace your rail card you are going to lose your discounts - it's a choice not to renew but not a very smart one. Oyster card replacement is, surprisingly, free by the way.
  5. Terry McPhillips was appointed permanently on Monday.
  6. The £10 replacement charge has been in place for years. I can remember having to replace one at least 10 years ago and it was £10 then.
  7. Jennings is 26. He obviously won't be in the Roses game starting tomorrow. I believe Ed Smith indicated at lunchtime that he's likely to be off to Sri Lanka though.
  8. Unfortunately whilst Hampshire and Yorkshire may well lose they will no doubt have some bonus points so the table will be very tight and Lancs will probably slip a bit. Also most teams have a game in hand on Lancs, so it's going to need at least one more win and all their games are now away from home. Still, it was a great win, which should give them some confidence going away to somerset on Monday. I was at the game on Wednesday and I left thinking there was no chance of a win. Josh Bohannon looks to me a real prospect. He batted very fluently in the first innings until needlessly run out as well as his second innings knock.
  9. You're right - Leeds is a big city and there is a huge catchment for United as there is a lack of other nearby competition. But only by using the artificial administrative boundaries can you argue that Leeds is 1.5 times the size of either Manchester or Liverpool. no one could seriously suggest that Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Stockport are not part of one conurbation. Likewise Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley and Wirral. Anyway, all this has nowt to do with tomorrow's game. Bristol's population is c450K!
  10. Lies, damned lies and statistics. Leeds' population only looks large because it just has one metropolitan council area, like Birmingham. Both Merseyside and Greater Manchester are bigger. Anyway, back to the game. I'll be there - my wife is from Bristol and her brother and his wife are season ticket holders at Ashton Gate, so it's an obvious one for me. For anyone driving down I would suggest coming ff the M5 at junction 18 at Avonmouth. Follow the A4 towards Bristol and just after going past the motorway there is a Park & Ride on the right. It's free to park and there are dedicated buses running straight to Ashton Gate. The parking is very difficult round the ground so this is far and away the easiest way to get there. And if you're old enough for a bus pass it's free.
  11. I’m assuming it’s in line with the European window closing at midnight.
  12. You had better get used to it - Finals Day will be there until 2024. It was scheduled to be at Trent Bridge in 2019 but then they had a beauty contest to decide future fixtures for the next 5 years this Summer and Edgbaston won Finals Day for 2020-24. So they then decided it was daft to move for one year and gave 2019 back to Edgbaston - Trent Bridge got an extra one-dayer instead.
  13. I think the problem with your idea gumboots is that such a package might appeal to an awful lot of current season ticket holders as well, who might then opt for that rather than a full season ticket. 15 matches out of 23 might be good for a lot of us - I always miss a few home matches a season and added to that is the fact that midweek games can now be seen live on Sky. A package of a consecutive 10 games might work but not I think one where you choose which 10 to go to. We already have the half ST and the club has packaged up a number of games at the end of the season as a package as well. Don't forget that anyone without an ST can buy an 1875 club membership and get £3 off every home league game ticket bought. It's not a huge discount but well worth it for anyone planning to come to at least 4 home games. I'll have a go at suggestions for transport at the next Fans Forum meeting in 3 weeks. I don't know what currently runs but there always used to be a few buses parked up in the triangle before the new road was built.
  14. Let's have a little perspective here (I realise it will be a dangerous precedent). The lad has played 20 minutes of first team football, against a lower league team's reserves when we were already 3-1 up. He looked very keen and busy, but extrapolating this cameo into starting regularly for the first team in the Championship would be ludicrous. I'd like to see more of him but I doubt it will stretch to more than an occasional sub appearance or maybe a run out in the next round of the Cup.
  15. I'd be surprised if Villa bring enough to need both tiers anyway, given it's a 17.30 kick-off, it's live on TV and if there are train problems as well.
  16. The last time Lancs were in the finals (2015?) I found myself in Birmingham on the day and managed to get a hospitality ticket a few days before. My recollection was that I paid c£175 for it. I just looked now and a very similar package is going for £431!! The tickets for next year are going on sale in about 2 weeks! Anyway I'm planning to go to Southport for the 4 day game on Thursday - a somewhat more reasonable £8 (old folks rate).
  17. Frankly it could be either. The page on matchday pricing talks about the £3 surcharge for tickets bought after 12pm for day games or 6pm for evening games and doesn't mention any exemptions for cup games. But there is no specific reference on the Lincoln page. One way to avoid it is to get 1875 membership but at £10 that might be a step too far for your first game back for a while!
  18. I know it isn’t the official reason but that’s widely disbelieved in Bristol and by me. I asked the question at the Fans Forum and got the same official response. It seems to me that they can’t practically have a rugby game on the Friday night and a football game on the Saturday afternoon on the same pitch. I think we should be thankful our game is very early in the season - I can’t imagine the pitch will be too great in the winter. I suspect someone has cocked up on the fixture front - they should be playing the rugby on weekends when Bristol Rovers are at home.
  19. Bristol rugby play at Ashton Gate. They had their opening game last night against Bath. City are going to be playing several home games on Sundays.
  20. The tickets only went on open sale this morning. Are you on the club’s database? If so, I assume they will sell you a ticket over the phone and post it to you. You have plenty of time for it to be posted.
  21. That's coming soon but whether for the first home game of the season i'm not sure. We have been told at the Fans Forum that new ST cards will be out before the first home game, but not much before.
  22. Premium Credit accepted everyone - it was part of the agreement. They have gone back to Zebra this year, who are doing full credit checks.
