  1. Perhaps the religionists among you could explain why your God has, for the second year running, delivered an unwanted Christmas gift?
  2. I remember Warhurst scoring in the home defeat against ManUre in 94/95 championship winning season.
  3. Reading the LET last night it really did hit home how THICK some people are who follow our club. People bleating on about how disloyal the club have been to TP, FFS how many other football clubs can you think of that have kept on a member of staff for 34 years. Mark Hughes has not made a hasty ill-thought out decision as some would have us believe, he worked with the man for a couple of years whilst he was a player here. He knows exactly what capabilities Parkes has to offer. Of course the way the news broke was not good, but from the tone of the letters in last night's LET it seems people actually think the club wanted it to happen that way... it makes you want to weep. Good luck for the future Tony, at least you seem to accept that the timing was a genuine mistake.
  4. Ewood Spark total posts 310 Thenodrog total posts 4164 Who needs to get a out more!
  5. Hey Phil, I bet you're looking forward to your annual visit from Santa Claus next month. Don't forget to leave a carrot out for Rudolph!
  6. Theno, altough I agree with most of what you have said, I can't help thinking that this example of insidious self loathing is the root cause of a lot of the problem attitudes discussed in this thread. Constantly send out the message to kids that they live in a sh1thole and they will eventually treat it as one.
  7. Can't help thinking we are going into Saturday's match like the 'stooge' team involved in Harlem Globetrotter exhibition games. Can we just not bother turning up and give them the 3pts...just seems a bit pointless traveling all that way for a good thumping.
  8. Rather than bleating inane empty rhetoric concerning the current government's policies perhaps you could remind us which political party that 'stumpy' nemesis of the football fraternity Colin Moynahan represented.
  9. Boycott away games! Rovers fans have been doing that for the last few years and where has it got us?
  10. Jozsurf, don't let the ignorant minority put you off, on the whole Rovers fans are a decent bunch.
  11. Hope you weren't including our celebrity fan Mr Masters (LET 14th Sept) in your thinly veiled sweeping statement.
  12. Not too sure what your point is there Theno. Surely the fact that he has played for us gives him an advantage (ie he understands how the club ticks etc.); an advantage which the fans are responding to. It's only logical to assume therefore that if he hadn't played for us, he probably wouldn't have been as popular a choice.
  13. Dr Who lookalike on way to south Blackburn suberb.
  14. Just got back from watching that garbage today and I can't help thinking that if Dowie is approached he may think he has a better chance of staying in the premiership with Palace. I'm bloody fuming at such a display of ineptitude.
  15. The only downer I have on a Hughes appointment is that if he is a success you can't help think that United would take an interest.
  16. T'was brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borrowgroves and the mome rathe outgrabe. Sorry thought I had stumbled across a thread for posting complete nonsense.
  17. How come then that their Brian Potter sound-a-likey chairman said on Radio Lancs last night that the current caretaker manager would be given six games to prove himself?
  18. Dowie would have been my first choice. When he was manager of Oldham we often used to see him at Christie Park watching the reserves, no doubt scouting for up-and-coming talent. He allways struck me as having the potential to be a great manager. Unfortunatly the word on the street suggests that Dowie has already been pencilled in for the impending vaccancy in east Manchester.
  19. Houllier! Surely Rovers aren't daft enough to appoint a manager who was a failure at Liverpool and has all the baggage that goes with having a heart condition......
  20. Push the boat out and get sky+, it will completely revolutionise how you view TV programmes. I was sceptical at first but could not now imagine going back to conventionally scheduled TV.
  21. Don't you think you should report this to the authorities in Oslo!
  22. If it helps Hughsey, try to imagine that the kit isn't late for this coming season...just very early for the next one .
  23. There will be at least 100 of us there. Bought 13 tickets on Friday the last of which was ticket No 100!
  24. If anyone is driving and wants to avoid the traffic, I suggest that they come off the M6 at Junct-31A (the new one north of the Tickled Trout junction). Park-up just off Watling Street Rd and head for the Summners...see you there!
