  1. He gifted Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday wins at Ewood - it absolutely is a disaster if he's not replaced.
  2. There's no way Casemiro is a legit 32. He can't move.
  3. If one more non-Rovers fan messages me on WhatsApp praising Wharton I'm going to punch them. Football in this country really is all about the PL and sod everyone else.
  4. I don't know if you saw the post-match interview with Pickering, JRC and Szmodics yesterday on Rovers' Twitter account. At the end JRC talked about building for next year - it was clear from Szmodics' reaction that he doesn't plan to be here next year (albeit it was subtle).
  5. Dolan is actually the opposite - he wants (and is best) to play centrally. Out wide he simply doesn't have the pace to worry FBs.
  6. He has to play in 75% of games... or what? His contract becomes void?
  7. Apparently Phillips is set to do another season on loan at Plymouth - at least that's the rumour down there.
  8. The 3 best performances were the ones where we could set up like team did against JDT - get men behind the ball and plan to hit the opposition on the counter attack. It requires far less skill / ability than trying to dictate the play. You simply need better players than we have on the books to attack and put the likes of Millwall, Plymouth, Coventry et al to the sword at home when they've set their stall out for a draw. We have absolutely nothing up front (especially with the injuries to Hedges and Leonard). JDT got around it by: drilling the players to within an inch of their life to play his system (progressive passing patterns and all) having the best CM in the division playing suicidal football and sending both FBs bombing on to overload the attacking areas When it worked it was great to watch, but he had no plan b when teams had a counter to it and we were on the end of numerous heavy defeats during his tenure as a result.
  9. Yeah, they failed to score a goal in any of those games too (-11 goal difference). Another fun stat is that they've scored 4 goals in their last 8 matches, and they all came in the same game against Huddersfield (6 losses, 1 win, 1 draw).
  10. I gather it was Gallagher or Moore. Moore scored 7 for them in the run in - they wouldn't have got promoted with Gallagher.
  11. At the bare minimum we need (in terms of starters): GK LB LW RW CF That would easily deplete our budget, so talk of another 4+ is pie in the sky - even if we need them.
  12. Moran's attitude was shocking. After a bright beginning at Rovers, a run of starts in the first team seemed to knock the stuffing out of him. He hides from the ball and shirks his responsibilities now any time he's brought on.
  13. He's an awful football player - surely they can't be keeping him.
  14. I think you're giving the players too much credit - they're mostly thick as mince.
  15. Genuinely, who would you bring on? Neither JDT or Eustace wanted to play Telalovic. Markanday is shite. Hedges has been injured all year. Leonard has been out injured for months. Moran is mentally back in Brighton. It's all well and going for the win, but not if you're bringing on sub-par footballers.
  16. I suspect Travis is on his way out. He's one of our highest paid players and forced his way out on loan in January - I think his card is marked.
  17. Eustace came in with Rovers in absolute free fall. People argue that JDT's early season results kept us up - he'd just failed to win at home against Huddersfield, Rotherham and QPR (with several thumping away losses in that period too). Again, I'm a card carrying member of the JDT fan club, but he'd clearly lost the dressing room and his arrogance was on full display during that period - he didn't adapt his tactics at all and was determined to keep Brittain / Pickering bombing on leaving us wide open at the back. That arrogance is partly born from the fact he knows he can get another good job somewhere with his credentials. Eustace knows that he'd be lucky to get a job managing Kidderminster again if he relegated us - the downside of being an unfashionable English manager - so he had to be more pragmatic.
  18. Was he ever mentioned as a potential manager here? I can't seem to recall that discussion. He's a decent / good Championship manager, but he can't do it without the players. JDT managed to drill the players within an inch of their lives to play his system - but when it went wrong (mainly when the lack of ability our players have showed up) we got thumped. There was no middle ground - which is why we couldn't eek out a result to get into the playoffs last year when we needed it and why we were losing to everyone from December onwards when injuries mounted. Eustace has come in, assessed that our best chance of survival with the collection of players he had at his disposal was to essentially shut up shop, and got us over the line. He gets far, far too much criticism on here.
  19. Have the players not worked hard for him since he arrived? It's not their fault (or his) that they're simply not good enough. They've all put a shift in and put their bodies on the line.
  20. When he's had some money I think his signings have been good - Brittain, Hyam, Szmodics, Tronstad (he won't be on peanuts). Sadly he's never had money.
