  1. Yep, if we bring in Caulker and Hyam then Sepp van den Berg is surplus to requirements. Otherwise you're just blocking the chance for Carter to play, which goes against what they say the new model is. In my opinion we're desperate for a LB that can mirror what Brittain does at RB - that would improve us as a team more than any other signing we could make.
  2. These kind of comments are so disingenuous. Brittain last played in L1 in 2020. Did Szmodics not score 6 goals in the Championship last year?
  3. Except Broughton didn't have the option of keeping any of Rothwell, Lenihan or Nyambe.
  4. The Brentford model doesn't work post-Brexit. Many of the 'gems' they found simply wouldn't qualify for a work permit anymore.
  5. That's not enough if we want to challenge anywhere near the Playoffs. From what I've seen JDT is a fantastic manager, but you only have to look at the benches of Sheffield Utd, Boro, WBA, Norwich, Watford etc to see 3 isn't enough.
  6. There's no way you just called Edun a LB! It's why I keep asking how far away Batty is, because Edun is terrible at LB. He almost sulks when asked to play there - his body language is completely different when asked to play in CM.
  7. It's a curious signing if they're also bringing in Hyam. Pushes Carter down to 5th in the pecking order, which he won't be happy with. He needs to play most weeks at this point in his career.
  8. I think woefully short at LB, CF and RW. Vale should be out on loan somewhere. Dolan / Markanday don't fill me with confidence as starters and Gallagher is what he is. In midfield I think you've got 5 (6 if you include Edun) for 2 spots, that's enough.
  9. Tells me they've been rebuffed on multiple targets if they've settled on him. He will have been way down the list. Disappointing signing on the face of it.
  10. Just whoever pays the asking price in a timely manner will suffice. I've no concerns about their career once they leave Rovers
  11. I suspect you were a big fan of the X Files in the 90s.
  12. That's not what we've negotiated, that's a fan. They're not hitting any of those add-ons. More likely to get relegated.
  13. Wonder if they've got Lenihan in the building and realized they've made a mistake...
  14. I've got my sights set on Katherine Langford. I've got about as much chance too.
  15. Personally I'd never sign for Everton because they're a crap club and their bitter fans have delusions of grandeur. That said I'd take the bird in the hand, please. Just ask Dack what can happen.
  16. My, you've written Szmodics off quickly. Did you do the same with Brereton or Rothwell I wonder?
  17. Anel: Priced out of it. Davies: Priced out of it (and glad to be) Van Hecke: Lord knows what he's doing with his career if he's willing to go out on loan again
  18. He's also possibly much better than Lenihan - some appear to have watched his performances with rose coloured glasses on. He was ok at this level, nothing more. Very clumsy and prone to switch off at the worst times.
  19. Out of interest, where is 'NC'? (your location)
  20. Perhaps they still want Sepp van den Berg on loan and Hyam as a permanent? We've been told they want 2 CBs (which would surely mean Phillips goes out on loan and perhaps Carter is sold).
  21. Surely exactly what we needed. They'll be in disarray.
  22. To clarify, he has the UEFA Pro License (the highest coaching qualification) and FA Technical Director qualifications.
  23. We have an exciting, young, ambitious manager and an ambitious, highly qualified DoF. The squad has been bled dry - if we sold Brereton and didn't re-invest the money then you might as well just give up now.
