  1. He might be a decent squad player in the PL, but yeah I don't think he's a difference maker.
  2. Won't we? Like for like, probably not, but it's a squad game. If we could bring in better players than Vale, Gallagher, Dolan and Markanday with the proceeds it's a net win. We need to get this piece of business done now.
  3. Yeah he's not good enough for the Championship. Clearly a decent L2 player.
  4. And money - think it costs £20k to rush through a work permit / appeals application.
  5. All this talk of following the Brentford model (yuck) - it's not possible now post Brexit.
  6. Mowbray took me on a miserable 5 year journey that went nowhere. I will not be fair.
  7. Oh, Batty played against Hartlepool. 5. Mowbray defenders harped on about how he utilised the Academy to it's fullest extent.
  8. What's that, 4 Academy debuts this season? JDT is going to blow Mowbray's record out of the water.
  9. We improved because we switched from 3 at the back...
  10. I hope not, Buckley is a CM and needs to be allowed to play there.
  11. L2 might be too much for Vale to be honest. The rest, yes.
  12. I think there's only two games being broadcast this round - Bolton and Villa tonight, Tranmere and Newcastle tomorrow.
  13. Why is everyone obsessed with going to a back 3 when we look so much better with a back 4?
  14. I actually don't want Van Hecke if he eats up the majority of our budget. He's a good player, but we have 4 guys capable of playing CB at this level (admittedly 2 are injured and 1 is on the verge of being injured), but I'd rather invest the money in a LB and a forward and loan in that Liverpool CB.
  15. This is just PTSD from Mowbray. I'm fine with a project as long as there's a clear end point (to be an established PL club) and clear improvement year on year. It's way too early to judge Broughton and JDT - there's a lot of promise so far, but obviously clear frustration at the lack of signings. I'd rather make the right signings than just signings for the sake of it.
  16. You clearly don't sit near me in the Jack Walker - we were flabbergasted that he was being brought back, especially at that price.
  17. He wants to play 4-2-3-1 with the option to play 3-4-3 against the better sides.
  18. Tosin stood out because he could pass (he basically took over the role Mulgrew had in L1 of being a ball playing CB). He couldn't defend though.
  19. I'm the opposite - if they take it seriously and put out their first team I can't see any way we win it.
  20. Agree to disagree - I was hugely entertained watching us play WBA, Swansea and QPR.
